  1. How can a thought-terminating cliche be a buzzword when I seldom hear people use it and fall for the use of one all the time? Meanwhile, I hear people use "projecting" casually without really understanding what it means. While what you're doing does have a term, it's "imagined hypocrisy" rather than "calling out projection." If you truly believed it was then you would have called me out on it rather than using this snarky attempt at belittling humour. Something can only cast a noticeable shadow if it's noticeable. For you to think the gap was a shadow is an expression that if I had chosen a darker colour on the armor you'd have argued that you see no issue since you want to see no issue. If adding gotget would add serious clipping issues then how do you explain and the heavy armours in the game that The context for those armours is that they served a ceremonial role or in other ways a narrative role. For example, gladiatorial armour was open so that the audience could better see the blood since red against skin is visible. "The standard" combat outfit for those who could afford it was padding, a mail coif, and general mail armour with some plate pieces on top. The full plates that you see all around in museums were mostly of a ceremonial nature and never saw actual battle since they would be really impractical there. There might have been some mounted knights using something that looked like it since a full-plated knight charging at you while mounted is a Code Brown for most people. It looks great in fantasy and in real-life it's rather impractical and while it offers significant protection it also comes with severe downsides. Conscribed troops where given things such as gambesons and other quilt armour, and they still had provisions from pote ting the noggin since the head is the carrier of the most important organ in the body, the brain. Your last paragraph I can only interpret as that you think the gap is noticeable and at the same time "not noticeable"? If so, this is a case of cognitive dissonance where they same thing is effectively something contradictory and mutually exclusive and somehow both true at the same time. You also launch into this long paragraph from what I can only assume is a subconscious desire to avoid elaborating on what your "not exposed skin" actually means as nothing of it is an answer to anything and instead just a justification for you thinking as you did. I already know, and you repeat yourself to explain the same thing to me again. If adding a gorget would create serious clipping issues then how do you explain the Heavy armor in the game that has the simulacrum gorget and have no such issues?
  2. Light armor is supposed to be cloth so that makes a bit more sense.
  3. - Projecting: Use a buzzword without knowing what it means, https://www.britannica.com/science/projection-psychology, you calling what I did a projection is a thought-terminating cliche. - Gamebreakingly: I never used this word, and if I did it would be monumentally stupid as the visual effect has little to no effect on gameplay unless it's a fart cloud like Untamed used to have or the Hell Sister currently have. You've either read this word into my argument yourself, in which case, this is your bias, or you're deliberately lying about what I said to make me look bad, it can only be one of the two. - Small gap: If I took a ruler to it and extrapolated the numbers and ratio the gap is objectively larger than a blade would be. If you see the realistic weapons they would easily get through that gap (minus the hammers and maces). It's only because the game has exaggerated weapon proportions on the showy weapons that moist people like to use that this gap appears small. - Not exposed skin: What is it then? Because "not" and forms of it are words that explain nothing and seem like they do. If I say, "I'm not happy," it can mean that I'm in a lot of different moods except for happy. It's negative communication and if people are fully aware of what they want to communicate they use positive communication where they say what is, instead of, what isn't. It's my character's skin and it's exposed even if you're unwilling to differentiate it. Will you argue that none of her skin is exposed despite it objectively being so? ANet can easily fix this by extending the forget to have the same proportional length on the female version as it has on the male version.
  4. I mentioned the colours, I mentioned the reason I had chosen those specific colours as that the character has incredibly dark skin. You just expressed that you had no respect for anything I wrote as you never read it, just assumed things based on your own opinion.
  5. That's a build with good survivability. The combo effect of Adrenal Health, Hardened Armor, and Stalwart Strength ensures that. The Stab from Stalwart Strength also makes three of her four mechanics utterly trivial, which would explain how you experience that she does nothing to you as it negates the knockback, the knockback effect of the lines, and the Taunt effect, and most likely also the damage from the Eye since those are usually only delivered if the target is affected by the CC. While it does exist it's rare that mob-damage from CC is unlinked to their actual CC.
  6. The visual telegraph for her pull would be a text bubble with, "I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER!" 😛
  7. Yeah I have, and so would you if you look around because if people get caught in the lines they die. The first cast stuns you, unless you can break out you die since the lines will then cast two or three spikes that knock you around, stun you, and deal massive damage with each spike.
  8. No, she's just kittening annoying and I see more people die on Hell Sister than I've ever seen die on Sorrow, it's mostly Zojja there. Just because something works there's no reason that wanting it to work better is bad. I mean, by your reasoning Kanaxai CM was okay at release was okay sometimes and succeeded if you went through hoops. That never consistently failed either, only most of the time, unless of course you with "consistently" means "a figure subjectively to me" since it by the objective definition of "consistent" (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/consistent) was severely inconsistent.
  9. That would also fail as all ranged are already in melee range due to how the performance system works. If the ranged in an engineer then they'll by default be in melee range as a lot of their traits only work when within 420 Units of the target.
  10. How did you get that? My posts up until that point are complaining about the lack of visual clues and that one is about how the fight only has audio clues for a lot of her attacks, and it's the same one regardless of what she's doing. None of them even implied "visual only" and you have to have an extremely deceitful interpretation to get that result.
  11. Even if there are no other players it would be impossible to see her face. Even with every post-processing option turned off, she's surrounded by a fart cloud so dense that you can only see a faint outline of her body.
  12. Okay, after closer inspection she does have a telegraph, IT'S AUDIO! Every time she screams she does...something, and you better dodge when you hear it just to be safe, sadly sometimes she just teleports and the Dodge is wasted. Audio telegraphs are stupid. People who have bad hearing and people, or similar are handicapped in this fight. The nearest analogy I can make is to Kanaxai. I can do every other Fractal with something running in the background whether it's music or something from Youtube, except for Kanaxai since he has a lot of audio-only telegraphs. Audio-only is okay when the warnings are in the form of something that's shown as a text bubble and when it's just a guttural sound then F that noise.
  13. Warrior with what weapon and what gear?
  14. The shoulders of WoW armour are their own thread about physics defiance 😛
  15. The lack of telegraphs and the fart cloud are major issues. She's as frustrating to me as Sorrow is, though for other reasons.
  16. Dude, the picture I posted IS rotated. I no longer believe that you're debating in good faith since you ignored something I objectively did. This shows that you've already decided by bias that the gap is okay. Please, give that argument to anyone who knows about full-plate.
  17. I played the game for a decade and looked at Might for years and there's a huge difference between male and female since for some reason the female head model is tilted and the helmets are lowered, so on females, the gap would be large non-existent in return for more of the top of the head being revealed. The same is apparently present here where the male model of Obsidian Heavy has no gap while the female does.
  18. The narrative structure of the two major content releases after SotO reminds me of reading a David Eddings novel without the humour. We go from victory to victory and that's narratively boring. If the content patches followed the traditional narrative structure then the The first release: Would have been us stepping into the new challenge and finding new allies, which we did. The second release: Would have been "The Darkest Hour" where we end up losing. That never happened. LW s4 chapter 2 and 5 were both "The Darkest Hour"! where respectively Joko and Kralkatorrik managed to do what they wanted. The third release: Would be our moment of triumph. We're unable to have that since we never had "The Darkest Hour."
  19. Make her telegraph all her special attacks, them being instant. CC, and dealing huge damage is less than ideal.
  20. Only due to location. The gaps are pretty much the same size. Helm of Might protects you if the attack comes from the side and Obsidian Heavy protects you if the attack comes from the front, that's the only difference.
  21. None of what you say accounts for anything in the ZPD, meaning, you've never read the link and are just parroting "git gud scrub" mindlessly. I wonder if you are even able to understand what the wiki explains and that explanation is really basic, it's also long since you require a lot of knowledge to understand it properly. This is just a more elaborate repeat of your previous post, when it comes to argumentation it adds little new and is just a rehash of your last one with a bit of elaboration that adds nothing new. It shows that you never understood the explanation in my link if you even bothered to read it, that should tell you how much value your "watch videos" has. I'll grant you the argument though. Please tell me how watching videos will help me fight against weapon stowing to get animation cancels so they can do a barrage of attacks far faster than they could if they had to wait for the animations to play out,? I know they do that since there's already an uproar that you're unable to animation cancel Guardian Pistol 5 and Warrior Staff 3.
  22. https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item-set=209/battlegear-of-might Should be on a male model with a helmet. What you see as exposed is a result of the armour in WoW for the most part being a texture. Look up "Jade Armor WoW Female" if you really want to see exposed. https://imgur.com/hD0WQMB White armour because that Sylvari has dark skin. If I can see something clearly once I'm past the faceplate then it's visibly exposed.
  23. That you can see it at all makes it visible. This is WOW's Battlegear of Moight on a male model's levels of exposure.
  24. Then the male model have a higher gorget, the female model has a visible gap between the chest and the helm.
  25. You're correct as they beat me without ever having a chance to learn anything other than just getting killed fast. This is the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) theory (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zone_of_proximal_development) and it explains the underlying reason the current queue system is bad. My experience in PvP is low so yeah, I would like to fight people at a similar skill level so I can learn and develop, and when those people become a snore to beat then I want to advance and fight people on my new skill level, repeat ad nausea. I find it deeply insulting that your entire argumentation is based on insults and what I can only assume is a deliberate misunderstanding of the context since there is a lot of ad hominem based on imagined hypocrisy. You tell me to go watch some videos? I tell you to go read some textbooks on developmental psychology, especially the ZPD, and I know that we'll get a similar understanding of the subject since we both lack the knowledge to understand it properly. That's how learning things work. You need to understand the level before the material you wish to learn to even have a chance of understanding it else it'll just be too frustrating for you and you'll quit. This is exactly the process that the queue system fosters now.
