Only 2 elite specs I want for next expansion

1- For Elementalist: Gunmage

Pistol both hands. A specialist that can chose his/her attunements in traits. Focuses on 2 with bonuses geared for his choices. Fire and lightning for damage. Earth/Water for support.

Utilities are traps. Deployable Traps can be triggered by ally/enemy for different effects. Allies trigger support trap while enemies damage and condi.

2- For warrior: Battle mage.

He gets no new weapons. Instead his utilities are magical kits. He enchants his weapons with magic for a multitude of effect with NEW animations for some. (I might be crazy on this one.)

An arcane kit for power damage. Earth enchant more geared towards defense. Chaos for condi or boons. Water for healing.

Bonus: A ranger beastmaster with pets as utilities that are out for a limited amount of time.

Mesmer bard. With musical instruments instead of clones.

Thanks!

While I'm not huge on pistol/pistol ele in part because of how chunky and unappealing most pistol skins look(in my opinion). I will say I do like the idea of two attunements with each pistol attuning to a separate attunement. (Maybe stepping too much on weaver's toes there).

I still like longbow more but I feel it's more likely to end up disappointing people than other options. But who knows. So long as it's not torch, mace or shield.😅

1- I'm all for guns and traps on elementalist but I doubt your idea on attunment can make it live. (double pistol is sexy as it would allow a lot of weapon combinations like scepter/pistol, dagger/pistol, pistol/dagger, pistol/focus and pistol/pistol)

2- Not sure what you want exactly. At first glance I don't find the idea very attractive.

3- I'm not against the idea of ranger having pets as utilities as long as it's main mechanism is sturdy enough to whistand a zerg fight.

4- I think I've pretty much given up on the "bard" thing for mesmer at this point. Maybe it will happen.

What I'd want personally:

- Elementalist: "Arcane" mage, a single new skillset for all elementalist weapons, weaponswap in combat. Switching attunments now grant "venom stacks" that affect the next few hits instead of modifying the weapon skills.

- Engineer: The only thing I really want for this profession is to see traps on engineer.

- Guardian: I want to see guardians stepping into the dark side. It's been to much focused on "light" these past 10 years.

- Mesmer: I want to see a "transformation" spec. Let's give it an illusory shroud.

- Necromancer: I just want the shroud's skill#2 to #5 to use phantasms so that they can proc death nova and even, maybe, give back some LF upon disappearing after attacking.

- Ranger: I want a spec that give up the common pet for an exclusive family of pet that are extremly sturdy but hardly do any damage at all (In other words, pets that can whistand a zerg fight).

- Thief: I want a spec that focus on being revealed. Being a stealth specialist was nice the first few years but it's growing old.

- Warrior: I want a dreadnought! A warrior that strike fear (1/8th of a second) into the heart of it's foes with every burst! Some bonus when flanking a foe! Something simple, If you dare eat my burst, you're in for some hard follow up!

Edit: I realize that I forgot the revenant. For this profession I want something similar to what I want for the elementalist. I want the utilities to no longer be specific to each legend but instead be a set of Glyphs that have additional effects based on the legend channeled.

I think Rifle would fit Ele more.

Earth being a shotgun.

Air being a 1500 range sniper.

Fire being explosive shots.

Water being 1200 range Healing with skill shots.

I also think of it as a condi weapon.

Earth and fire being the dmg elements.

Air being low power dmg but mostly utility focused. For example a 1500 range single target daze.

Water could via traits be a unique healer playstyle. 1200 single ally target healing.

I'd love a dual pistol ele also, and it's certainly an interesting idea you have for it. One thought, would you consider calling it a Spellslinger instead?

Yeah sure for the Spellslinger I don't mind at all! haha

I want to give some spice to the Warrior skills. They're mostly bland and physical (which is fine) but it's time for it to be more flamboyant. After ten years, the class deserve flashier, more spell like skills.

The sad thing is that I like your idea! but goddammit I want my dual wielding gunslinger spewing all kind of magical shenanigans at everyone's face.

Make the rifle a "kit" like Gunsaber is for Bladesworn and give it dual pistols as weapon.

Then watch Warrior explode of rage that Ele got 2 pistols.

I'm pretty sure weaver got at least this much as there is 30 dual attacks + 4x3=12 regular skills on sword.

It's been done once, it can be done twice.

+4 utility skills, 1 heal and 1 elite skill.

Catalyst got a lot too tho.

20 weapon skills. 4 spheres. 4 utility skills, 1 heal and 1 elite skill. Thats at least 30 new skills. If we also count grand Finale, that is 1 more skill.

I just hope they wont go for an offhand weapon next expansion...

I want rifle, longbow or (mainhand) pistol.

I love the idea of a dual Pistol elementist.  I would definitely play that.

Battlemage though...   we kind of have that already.  Weaver can be built very tanky and uses a sword.  Need to use an outfit to get your heavy armor appearance but that's easy enough.

Yes I know you can safely do a battle mage on other classes with outfits. It's even safe to say you could do most archetypes with the available classes if you try hard enough. Guardian is clearly already some sort of battle mage. Its fine but warrior only has physical skills with no flair. Only gunblade now has a little explosion but still feel physical.

But I was under the impression it was the goal of elite specs... to give tools to a class that doesn't have them. And I feel like warrior has two things missing. Active support: Let's face it banners are fudging boring. And more magical skills. So why not both with a kind of battle mage.

My gut response is that mesmer is more similar to guardian in how the core profession mechanic works and interacts with traits and might therefore be more likely to get something like tomes, but on second thoughts, they could do shroud as a kind of reverse scourge: skill 2 of shroud triggers traits for F1 and so on. Clones could then be converted to providing... whatever the equivalent of life force would be. Ether force?

Yep that's was more or less what I was imagining with the shatter skills being skill#2 to 5 of the hypothetical shroud. I like the idea  of ether as a ressource, it remind me of the skill "ether lord" of GW1.
