Why Did You Nerf Engi Shield Skills Across the Board?

Recommended Posts

Actually the increased CD made a bit of sence when you see what engis ahield block does (block + cc on 25 sec cd) compared to what the warrior one does (just only block but same amount of cd 25 sec)

EDIT: But yea idk would have more loved to see cd reduced on warr block instead rofl

First of all its 30 (now its 40). Second of all, should not compare it with an underperform build. Should think about other blocks: Ranger GS, Vind GS, WB heal (ok, its not exactly a block), earth shield etc.

Why did the balance team decide that, because Mechanist is performing too well for your liking, to increase baseline shield skills ACROSS THE BOARD?  Why not just.... remove the cooldown reduction from the Inventions line with the Overshield trait?  That would've addressed the issue and not affected any core engi, holosmith, or even mechanist builds that use a shield but that do not use inventions.  This is a horrid balance decision.  I would have even understood taking away the cooldown-less stun AoE from Static Shield (because that definitely becomes a problem when you have a field that repeatedly attempts to attack the shielding engineer player), and turned it into a 1-second-per-player timer but this?  This really isn't justified.

Surely it should be the other way around from what you say?

Increase the baseline cooldown but buff the core traitline trait that reduces its CD.

So you either choose elite spec with longer cooldown, or you play core with core traitline and get the lower CD.

I mean, basically the only advantage a core spec can have over an elite-spec is having a 3rd core traitline, so thats where you can give core specs some help.
