At start I thought a bow would fit in an interesting way, but in my imagination that would be too similar to Renegade.

Now I have 2 preferences, one is MH Pistol, that I feel it could be possibly redundant with Virtuoso mechanics, but OH Pistol feels kinda out of place on mesmer by now, I mean, it's cool, but, dunno, i think she deserves a mate.

My second option is the Hammer, because I think Mesmer needs more melee options. Sword is cool yeah, and Mirage's Axe too, but a 2H weapon could fill more this sense of lack of melee options.

Mesmers can take the 'brute force the enemy with magic' angle. It's obviously not what they're known for, but there's no reason there can't be an elite specialisation that focuses on this.

I just cannot picture noble rich pricks gathering in a high entry club wanting to run around with two handed hammer. It’s like filthy.

Polo? Croquet? And in the late medieval period, hammer-headed polearms were typically aristocratic weapons. GW2 does take the typical fantasy game approach of making hammer heads unrealistically oversized, but the hammer from the Gallant set is reasonably close to a bec de corbin.

And that's without raising the fact that while, yes, mesmer magic is popular among human nobility, you don't need to be aristocratic to be a mesmer.

The pistol as a non-projectile range weapon could be nice. Firing the gun and inflicting wunds across space seems fitting for the mesmer. It better offer some survivability however; dagger main hand is virtually useless outside of pve because of it.

According to Wikia: "Mesmers are masters of deception and misdirection."

So just imagine an estimable noble rich guy with an eloquent gab approaching you, he is so kind and magnetic, you low your guard and suddenly he PULLS OUT A GIANT HAMMER AND PULVERIZE YOUR KNEES.

Deception and misdirection

What's more, the hammer just isn't shown when stowed. Instead, there's a special animation where the weapon pops in and out of existence when drawn, stowed, swapped to, and swapped from. Some of the attacks might even involve desummoning the hammer, and then resummoning it to attack again from an unexpected angle that would otherwise be impossible to strike from so quickly after the previous strike.

If that was done the way you mentioned then maybe, but as you said GW2 went for more cartoonish hammers. They already look strange on eles ngl. Well - we’ll see

Reading you, I imagine a pink version of Revenant big hammer summon (the 5th skill) and the whirl of hammers from Jalis.

Well, to be fair, rev hammer could almost be a mesmer weapon. Just replace the leap in skill 3 by sending out a phantasm to do a hammer smash on the target location!

...I was thinking of something a little more melee-oriented, though.😛

Mesmer lack melee so I agree with you. Could still have some mid range skills though, but not for the #1 AA chain.
