Guardian is dead content. And the devs don't care.

What do I mean by Guardian is dead content. 
DH has been so nerfed into the dirt I get flamed and made fun of for playing it, and the devs don't seem to read their own balance changes through out the years.

The longbow 3 on DH no longer does damage but it knockbacks. well anet I don't know if you've noticed but a 3/4 second cast time aim-able projectile by nobodies surprise doesn't hit people anymore since your trash CC nerf where you removed its damage and increased its cast time. You removed the effect if it blocks a projectile it does extra damage so thats one more thing. You simply cannot combo anyone with Spear of justice, Test of faith, deflecting shot. Sure you could do shield 5 instead of deflecting shot but the whole point is to use your longbow drop traps range pull them in and push them out and keep up your ranged pressure. 

Spear of justice has this EXACT same issue where it takes so long to cast people just dodge it and its your only means of getting someone close to you. 

Trapper runes. Anet has nerfed DH around the existence of trapper runes since its inception. Yet there are no buffs to traps or DH's kit meanwhile every other class has meaningful balance changes while Firebrand, Dh, and willbender CONTINUE to get exactly 0 changes EVERY single pvp patch.

Let's not even debate firebrand in spvp it's so dogtrash you can't even play it in gold tier. You're better off playing base guard. Don't worry you'll still be useless you just wont die as fast.

Axe is just horrible there's no point in using axe in spvp the symbol is a 12 second cooldown that is just asking you to get interrupted by some thief or mesmer a full 1 second windup before you even throw the spell. and blazing edge the 3 skill is so slow you'll never catch anyone who is even using half of their last two remaining brancells. It does no damage and it does 1 second 1 stack of burning wow youre so generous anet oh it's on an 18 second cd.

Meditations have been gutted so hard (The ONLY viable skills for anyone to use in spvp if you want to have impact.) Their healing has been gutted in the trait line (But ele can do the highest damage in the game with more sustain than fully speced support builds) "But they reduced the cooldown on them without needing the trait" wild a 32 second teleport and a trash smite condition that is so bad they might as well remove the skill from the game. THE only one worth using is contemplation of purity. 

Signets are all bad you literally never see them used and if they are you know it's some noob going to lose you the game. Unless its a core guard with signet of mercy you'll probably still lose because youre down a player. consecrations again useless nobody uses them and nobody every will unless its burn guard using purging flames. shouts again trash 48 second cd for a little stab and a stunbreak woo a thief or mesmer stunned you immediately after ripping the stab congrats you've wasted a skill slot. Again spirit weapons nobody uses them outside of sword of justice in wvw and pve. 

Really do I even need to go on Guard is so bad you might as well re roll warrior or rev. atleast then you'll have something to look forward in these trash patches anet puts out.

They'd also have to adjust Ele and Thief base HP or swap with Rev or Warr to keep consistency across armor types in terms of base health pools.

I wouldn't be against a buff to Ele and Thief HP, but let's be honest with ourselves, ANet would rather swap HP with Warr to drive home their favoritism.

Thanks, u just actually described the ranger long bow, useless signet and traps they give us. At least u guys have condi purge on multiple skills.

What do rangers have? Bear stance on 30s cool down

Guardian was in a tough spot for a while but the weapon training for some classes are so good and Guardian weapons were so crappy that it sent Guardian to C tier. Hard to also compete with classes that instantly cast something and doesn't miss attacks meanwhile Guardian feels slow and clunky and pretty much the new punching bag of the game.

Guardian is regarded as "Anet favorite child" for a reason.

This thread is talking about PvP. While core support is decent and wb/dh are great at noobstomping, the class struggles to compete as soon as your opponents develop a second or third brain cell. You're almost always better off playing another class in PvP.

Remember ya'll:

- No other profession has the sheer amount of static mechanics like Gurd(symbols, terribly tracked skills, just slow overall).

- No other profession has the fewest amount of sticking power like Gurd(lack of cripple, immob, chill, superspeed, solid tracked skills, Quickness)

- Every weapon overhaul on Gurd has made the weapon worse(Staff Auto still suffers from tracking, Focus #4 USED to have utility and not just straight up damage, GS Binding blade only changed the animation, did nothing for the projectile speed.

- No other profession needs traits or specific utilities to make weapons/builds work(Judges Intervention is NECESSARY for any kind of burst as well as Righteous Instincts for ANY power build. )

There is many issue from that tbh it seem the balance team look a lot of SC build and main issue they look at virtue guard/DH and said well it perform well in a unrealistic situation. Need perma aegis and stab to outperform well make no sense for PVE content. The other sad part nobody like the mantra how they working now on Fb but mantra are not shout and i can understand they need to be re-channeled. The problem it seem to cause now its seem they have buff many quickness providers others than firebrand  very reliable on boons and cdps. So in a situation you need a condi boon giver you wont take firebrand anymore as primary choice so basicaly only remaining firebrand job is healbrand still speaking about PVE content here not getting into WvW or PvP situtation. Like alacrity willbender they seem to be quite reliable but not sure yet if they worth it.

Trapper rune was never intended to carry the class, it just took anet so long to fix the rune

  1. Fix the rune. Done!
  2. Fix the class so it doesn't need the rune. Ehh... we'll get to that later.

But seriously, the rune provided an extra playstyle to the class, which is what I look for in relics. I'd be perfectly fine with nerfing the effect and maybe buffing the class to compensate to keep the playstyle.
