You think it might because every time they've tried, they yelled at for it?    I can point out the giant vines and tower debris in Kessex Hills as proof.

Anet getting yelled at for doing something with old content after people yelling at them to do something with old content is the perfect summary of the re-release of LWS1. Years of asking Anet to bring back LWS1, then complaining about content drought and lack of new content when they were working on re-releasing LWS1.

Then again, it wouldn't be GW2 if there'd be no complaining about the content, changes, whatever people specifically asked for.

It's the perpetual complain cycle.  The rule is that happy people don't complain, so the moment something is changed the happy people become quiet and the newly angered crowd starts chirping.

The problem is that re-releasing LW1 was all they did -- and they didn't even do it to completion, either. Lots of it's missing. So they half-re-released a part of the game that already existed. And that was 1 year of work. And then the next year of work was Gyala Delve, a universally detested excuse for a release.

That's the problem with LW1's return.

They skipped out on the bunch of boring sleep inducing filler content, people complain LWS2 is boring talk simulator half the time. LWS1 was a bunch of small releases of story bloat noone would be interested in today, because it was just endless reading.

But thanks for proving my point with this:

People asked for LWS1 to be returned, that's what they did. Complaining about Anet doing what they were asked to do.

They'd claimed their intention that year was Cantha maps for LW6. Then we got a half-finished re-release of something they didn't even have to make.

Is it any wonder people were unhappy with that? Re-releasing LW1 should have been a minor side-project.

A bunch of hammer guards were burning Teq down so fast, we almost broke the phase system.  Later that day a bunch of us got organized, and managed to clear 3 Teq Events in a single window, just to see how many we could manage.

😮 And to think when it first came out a completion in under 20 minutes was rare, all of the mechanics would fully play out (toxic undertow, bone wall, etc) and event failure was not uncommon. Same with all of the dragon champions, tbh. How times have changed.

It was done this way to stop double/triple dipping.   It was a problem dating back to Teq, where if you were really fast, you could hop instances and clear a world boss multiple times within a single event window.  Anything that wasn't on a daily limit would be vulnerable to this.

But the REAL problem had to do with how people would just hop maps to AVOID having to the do the event, and either AFK or lurk in maps that look like they'll be successful.  The sheer amount of chaos this creates with organization is pretty obvious.  Even on a good day, Chalk meta has a bad enough problem with leeches putting the whole thing at risk for everyone actually trying to do it.    This is why HOT Metas have lock timers, and more aggressive flagging for participation, to force players to be more active in a specific instance of that map, in order to maximize chests at the end.

I remember doing "multi maps" for the Auric Basin meta before they nerfed it and limited you to one maps loot per event window.  There would be usually 5-9 maps doing the meta, and when it was done we would all map hop to each map for all the loot.  I guess nerfing that was an exception to Anet's rule of not changing old content.

Not the only place they also made both istan meta events chests 1 time daily but you can run dragonfall or drizzlewood coast all day.
