is there a way to temporarily to disable it? I needed to make a simple jump and my jumps were ruin because it kicked into gliding!!!!

There is not a way to disable it

You can't disable it (or bind it to a different button to jumping) but you will get used to it. If you don't hold the jump button the glider won't open so you need to learn to tap it quickly when you just want to jump.

This has been requested many many many times and ignored. Just be ready for all the learn to tap, get used to it etc. comments. But Anet should add an option to disable it.

and remember to disabled double tap to dodge.   That'll get you killed a lot.
