The frequency you get mats and other loot is a lot higher in wvw than any other game mode. Some items and achievements you can only get in wvw. Besides you also have on top of that, the chests you get from tracks. Not everyone likes fractals, and not everyone appreciates pvp. WvW is the most played game type outside pve... and for good reasons. And why people buy multiple accounts, so they can always play for the winning team. Some of these people can make 200-400 gold a day doing that on average. A youtuber claimed he made 2,000 gold once, in a day just from wvw loot. I'll link the video up if i can find it again. However I can't really say that's a repeatable event. Making gold in Gw2 is so easy, and there is not that much to spend it on once you're geared that buying multiple accounts is not necessary. WvW would especially be silly because you'd have to push the rank up on them to get the pips faster per account. Seems like a better way would just be the wizard's vault. All that effort would be like getting another job--- which is what streamers do. And streamers don't need to do any of that because their viewers will donate them gold anyways, making any tryhard farming even sillier unless it's to impress viewers. Because at the end of the day, the best kind of gold to get is other people's gold. Like anyone can just notice a pve festival is starting, note which items are selling like crazy and make bets. Granted I kinda failed everyone about the holocakes this year (margins were thin af) but this is why you don't talk about them lol. For example, did you know you can sell your paper catapults on the TP for 6s..... and then buy superiors for 2? Not that you would, because you have tokens. But That is right, never throw paper catapults, unless it's on people. As a side note, unless you're getting hard farmed all the time, the income from WvW isn't really depending on your server being strong. It sure helps, but if your server just happens to imbalanced coverage but your tz is fine, then there is basically no impact because skirmish tracks and reward tracks form a pretty decent floor already. If you think you are poor because you're missing a few hundred loot bags (~10 gold) then I recommend a bigger supply of copium because that's not going to last.
