Vinny.7260
What's with the newer weapons having more, or better, mechanics than their profession's elite specs? It'd be nice if the older weapons got this sort of life given to them too. Granted, we all know it probably wouldn't happen. (I'm really hyped about Spears, but it's kinda showing this amazing potential the devs have with the weapons and wish they'd backtrack and give this sorta spice to all of them). 5 4

More time to design and code weapon mechanics, while not having to restrict yourself to espec theme. I'm not entirely sure about the possibility of getting this degree of a rework, but refreshing older weapons in terms of animations and purpose definition wouldn't be too far fetched.

So you spend the $25 what do you think... Besides if they weren't any good you'd complain about that, like a load of people are doing.

Edit: On second thought, housing might be part of the $5 dollars along with the rest, including spears for 8 professions. Then $20 dollars for elementalist spear animations. We'll find out when housing details are dropped. 😉 Edited June 24 by Gaiawolf.8261 3 2

Liewec.2896
things get better over time, the devs learn new tricks. hence why you look at asomething from release like 100 blades or orb of wrath and they just seems so clunky and old fashioned but spears get fluid multi-attack animations and melee/ranged crossovers.

The autoattacks and slot 3 skills seem pretty basic (probably deliberately so in order to justify most of the weaver skills also being fairly basic visually), so you're probably looking at having 13 skills or so with significant graphics work. That's probably roughly the equivalent of mesmer, guardian, and revenant spears combined. The other professions are relatively plain compared to those three, albeit with some standout skills, so I'd guesstimate elementalist received about a third of the skill effects budget.

Yeah, but seeing as they only spent 20 pence on the pistol animations it all balances out

Not to mention, melee animations have to be adjusted to each races animation set, while casting doesn’t.
