Griffon Mount Egg hunt

Disgusted with Griffon egg hunt how I got to that pedestal in that Dinn ruins is remarkable took me a week on or off. Why the Hell would you come up with Mess. And don't tell me hook up with a group there are none think I got 5 eggs Crystal Oasis 4-5 in Desolation 3-4 in Elon I've been playing on and off for years this year I decided to clean up everything and follow the storyline finished POF haven't done LW4 yet wanted to get the jackal DONE and the Griffon then move on. Never have I been that confused and down + bored my Soul beast build is adequate not bulletproof but pretty good I use longbow and shortbow - staff didn't really work well might be me shortbow is ok at least it keeps me a distance that allows me to infect enough damage. There really isn't enough groups doing this anymore! I imagine when POF first came out these groups were plentiful but now barren, besides the eggs what other tortures are there to get a Griffon besides every group I have a chance are flying seascapes you can't even keep up? Pretty demoralizing makes me understand why I left the game so many times

Is it me or am I missing something? I borrow a Griffon from nest and to be honest this is extremely tedious for what you get out of a Griffon. Your thoughts where am I wrong?

I did it on a soulbeast several years ago.  The only painful part was the gold lol.   If it's not your cup of tea, then don't do it.

You don't need a group to get to any of the griffon eggs. You only have to reach the spot where they are, so other than maybe a mesmer being able to teleport you to some of them there's nothing other players could help with. A lot of the griffon eggs require you to borrow a griffon from a nest on the map and fly to the location. Others need the other mounts (including the jackal). The Wiki has advice on the best ways to reach each one.

You will need a group for the rune in each collection, because those require completing group events. Probably the most tricky is defeating the Legendary Corrupted Facet in Crystal Oasis because it's not near any waypoints so you need to make sure people are there and ready to go before starting the timer, but it only needs about 5 people. That one is done regularly, especially when Crystal Oasis bounties are a Wizard's Vault daily or weekly, but you can also put a group together using the LFG tool - if you don't see one for it you can start one and then other people will join you.

(Also I agree with the person above who said longbow and shortbow isn't a good combination on a ranger. Longbow is a power weapon, showbow is a condition weapon - they need different stats so it's very difficult to use both effectively in the same build. It would be better to pick the one you like best and then pick another power or condition weapon to go with it, like showbow and double axes for a condition build.)

I've never had any luck forming a group for bounties, so I just gave up trying anymore.

Best time for PoF bounties is when they are weekly. Then you should get easy groups.

September 17th with the PoF return to event it might be easy to get help - for people that need it for certain events. I just remember certain stuff in certain maps - where you needed a few people. Other than that I remember it being easy. (Except that it costs gold which can be a bit much for a totally new player.)

Namely some escort or defent thing in south of the highlands map and I think in Elon Riverlands to the south ... those afaik are needed. And regularly had people asking in map for help.

The only trouble I have with the gryphon collections is mustering up the energy to finish them. Every time I sit down to do it I find something more interesting to distract myself with.

If you need help with aqquiring your griffon, just hit-up The Griffon Academy [Wing] for help (go to the starter waypoint in Queensdale at peak times on a weekend and you can almost guarantee there will be at least one person from [Wing] hanging out there). The guild has both NA and EU branches, and regularly helps people with the events and stuff for the griffon collection 🙂
