No Downed State

If we learned something from the no downstate week; It didn’t changed much in Zerging, other then the fact that Soulbeast became Meta in Zergfights.

Now that you could burst out of place players without worrying about insta rezzes.

Also Rezz traits/skills became useless, so you could choose better traits/skills.

It changed a whole lot to roaming,Where not having to waste time cleaving and actually moving on right to your next target making fights less obnoxious and faster paced.It was heaven for roamers.

They will never remove downed state but i still think it needs a heavy nerf.

Get rid of all sorts of rallies.Get rid of able to go down 4x in one minute.Give them less hp in downed state.Let cleaving do more dmg than one guy ressing.Add quickness back to finish animation.

Well imo we only need for the F to ress action to do 0 healing to downed players so no ressing so

Players Should only be ressed by:

  • Rally. Rally is a very good mechanic which helps the players for an active game.
  • Traits like Ritual of Life will still work, and runes can work with those trait effects.
  • Downed skills.

This is good because:

  • Brings more variety to the WvW rooster, giving the havock classes to an actual role in the wvw combat. All that without changing much how they work.
  • Remove effectively a lot of the root cause of the actual zerg meta and the reason of the 3 classes. If your blob can't insta ress downeds now the squad becomes as strong as the weakest link.
  • Bring back havock groups, now there is a reason why you may have smaller combats all around the map instead two big blobs.

All that with just one simple change: players can not ress downed players other than using specific skills. Strangely enough the most vocals here against the no-downed are the one than complain the most against the wvw meta that never changes.Well there you have a first step to change the shape of the meta.

Also as personal preference i would add like in SPvP a timeout after you are downed, like 10 seconds. To be fair you should not lose the bags you should get while you are downed\timeout , but that time out should be there so the player has a little of time to think about the mistakes and how to do better next time. Also to clean up inventory and reapply food\utils.

Otherwise no player has time to reflect in how he could have done better.

um, nobody uses scrapper anymore in wvw, you may be the only one left.Anyway scarpper mechanics would still work if we just remove the ability of players to ress other players with the F button.The mini giro would still be there.

Do you see now? Removing the F to ress meme would open the build and classes so much... Now scrapper is needed at least as ressbot (there is no other class that can perform that action every 20 secs). And BOOM medic\support scrapper back to the rooster.
