  1. I wouldn't recommend that. If it's a problem caused by a crash or bug where the overlay stopped responding a keylogger won't necessarily narrow it down. A keylogger would create a security hole you don't want on your pc and anyone else that used your PC was aware it had a keylogger may react in a very hostile way towards you because keyloggers are used for bad things.
  2. Yes. I would agree that its disappointing, but then my main is a necro loaded with base line boon strips and corrupts. Depending on the situation I would recommend a dodge-related sigil (for pvp and wvw roaming) or just focus on more damage/heals/shields (enhancing your zerg role)
  3. The target loses the entire stack, all 25 of might in your example. Thats par for strips/steals/corruption effects. Somewhere in the wiki it lists the priority order of what boons are affected before others. Not certain what you get but i suspect you gain the entirety of the boon at whatever remaining duration it had. For example, if you stole protection with 1 second remaining and didn’t have protection already, you would get 1 sec of protection. If you already had protection and it was below the duration cap it would add 1 second to it (the amount you stole) up to the cap limit.

You may have him in the guard role (name??) instead of the normal attack role which makes it avoid combat With it summoned you can see the mechs profession skills above your weapon skills and between those and your health globe will be a small unlabeled square that is either blue (passive/guard) or red (attack). If you see blue, click it once to make it red. You can click it any time even out of combat. side note: Ranger pets also have this feature
  6. There are very few instanced pve content that is truly public. Dragonstorm, soto Convergence and a few others and that’s it. Go in as soon as the system allows you to. No one is in charge. All raids, strike missions, dungeons and fractals are actually private squads looking for extra members with one person in charge. When you join the group, you can hover your mouse over the group member frame on the edge of your screen and it will tell you where they are and you go to that location. If they are in the instance already go in. If they are in the aerodrone, wizard tower, eye of the north or the other starting places, go there make sure you have joined the same server as them (right click someone on squad frame and “join in <zone name>”). Find the group and stand at ready. They may have placed food and banners outside the instance so grab the freebies. Wait for them to say go in.

Any class in the hands of the expert, leet, best of the best, using the ideal builds, blah blah blah can solo those hps I consider myself to be at least average with a necromancer in a dps and qdps role. No experience in a support yet, but I have hundreds of hours on this prof in various dps builds. There were plenty of HoT hps I could solo and many I couldn’t. I boosted an engineer for the heck of it. Looked at metabattle, picked, the easiest open world build, snagged all the easy pof and eod hps, unlocked mechanist, crafted 2 exotic viper pistols (cause they looked cool), switched to a condi mechanist build and proceeded to make nearly every hot hp my b—ch despite having the wrong gear (everything but pistols was still the exotic celestial freebies from the boost). Zero skill. Meh build. I made HoT cry. “Any class can do it” pfft only for the experts. The rest is us could use some help.
  8. You said you couldn’t even click the standard retry from checkpoint button so it’s absolutely not a gw2 issue. You also switched mice and still had the same problem, although if the new mouse still used the same mouse driver or manufacturer mouse software it’s always possible (but very unlikely) that the mouse is a problem. it’s probably an issue with an overlay or addon. Both can put invisible windows over gw2 effectively intercepting and eating the mouse clicks, not allowing them to pass through to the game. if you are using discord, disable its overlay. You can still voice chat by doing that. Stop using any gw2 overlays or addons like arcdps, taco and blish or whatever else you may have. If the problem stays away, you know it’s not the game or your mouse. Then it’s a matter of slowly adding things back until they break again then the last thing added back is your culprit. You can decide if it won’t play well with other addons or if it has a setting you can change to fix it or simply don’t use it.
  9. I recently did this jp twice for the mursaat tokens. Twice because the first time through I missed a bunch (lol). The second time was 100% solo on my necromancer: no help at all needed. The first time I got some help from another player on a mesmer doing the jp at the same time as me. While he did bail me out 2-3 times with portals the biggest thing he showed me was the jumping technique itself. Many jumps can’t be done “normally” because you have to jump around a corner or obstacle sticking out from the wall and you need to abuse gw2’s impossible physics where you jump angled slightly away from a wall but mid air keyboard turn towards the wall and this lets you curve in flight to go around a corner/obstacle. my suggestion is this - get the Prototype Position Rewinder and learn how to use it for max effect * - use a utility ability that gives a perm move speed buff (just 1 ability because move speed boons do not stack). Move buffs allow you to jump farther and in a couple places that’s needed - load up on condition cleansing skills for the early part of the jp You need to cleanse the burning frequently that you get out you can die - use blish or taco overlay with tekkits markers to give you a highly possible route through the jp. It’s not perfect and in a small number of places it’s better to use a different starting location to start the jump. The spot you jump to is still the preferred destination every time though - optional use a necro or mesmer. both have 2nd chance abilities that work in jp’s (spectral walk and portal) don’t really need them if you have the position Rewinder * The Protype Position Rewinder has 2 abilities (1-save position, 2-rewind position) and they have independent timers. Hit 1 and it starts a 30 second timer, make a jump, hit 1 again to save the new location and it resets the timer!!! This means that as long as you don’t die and don’t unequip the position Rewinder you can run through the jp constantly saving your position. So if you miss a jump and rewind putting 2 on cd, you can wait a second or 2. Save your position again with 1 (resetting its timer) then try again before the 2 ability comes off cd. If you miss again, simply wait out the cd of rewind which now has less time remaining than the 1 ability timer. practice on an easy jp and you will make the chalice of sorrows your b—

  11. I would like to see elementalists and engineers get a 2nd underwater weapon and have 1 weapon be power-oriented and the other condi-oriented. Pets for both should be reworked to continue working underwater. Elementals summoned by Ele's should not disappear when the Ele mounts (expire normally is OK, but that's not what happens now). Other weapons should only be introduced if they do a new elite spec too. Ele: Gun Mage with Rifle or off hand pistol. Eng: Toy Maker with off hand focus. Instead of a single big robot that lasts a long time, makes a horde of small minions that swarm and expire quickly. Maybe make this a kit: to give exploding toys, toys that heal, toys that spew oil, toys that slice and dice, toys that spew poison gas Guardian: Lancer with 1 handed spear (lance) +shield. Mounted Knight theme spec with horse/mount-related abilities would require shield as offhand. Necromancer: Bone Shaman with pistol offhand. Given them a new class of utility skills for bone-themed attacks. Not really sure about the rest.

  13. That’s never going to happen. I get that you’re probably not thinking of jumping puzzles, and anet has released a few items to make jps easier (Prototype Position Rewinder), they won’t ever make a skill that makes them completely irrelevant.
  14. The op is asking about a *weaver wvw build*. At no time did you or anyone else bring up mesmers and it’s ridiculous to claim that mesmers were contextually relevant And you’re wrong about two weapons for ele. Nearly every ele wvw build (again that is what the context of this thread is about, not mesmers or pve) has a “try hard” variant of using 2 identical weapons: your main “vs real opponent” with on swap sigils and your secondary with on kill/crit sigils which requires you to run around killing bears , wargs, whatever to get quick stacks because when you swap after getting a stack and combat is over, the stack and its damage boon remain. It can slow you down by “wasting time” on the fauna and there’s a chance you will get stuck on the wrong weapon when a real enemy shows up and imo it’s a waste of gold but for someone trying to min/max their way to being the ultimate ele wvw warrior it’s a real option
  15. Didn’t realize we were talking about mesmers in the elementalist forum. Should have read your mind and realized that. Also, technically ele can benefit from identical weapons if you really want to throw lots of gold to gain every tiny bit of dps

  17. I disagree with nearly every one of your points story, hearts, waypoints, etc... too difficult for a new player? Maybe if GW2 was the very first video game they ever SAW! My kids were rocking Minecraft when they were 8 or 9 and frankly Minecraft is a million times more complex than GW2. /wiki too difficult for new players? Using the web for additional resources is second nature for game players, especially the ones that are Millennials and younger. An in game codex might be nice but does nothing to make the game more accessible to new players. appearance options = nice but irrelevant for new players Information overload at character creation actually works against new players. Too much info at once creates more questions, its guaranteed to be useless marketing PR fluff and leads to disappointment if the things change (as they always do with every new content released and balance patch) and what Anet thought an elite spec was for isn't how any player uses it. I personally think the keyboard+mouse MMO-style UI is the only real challenge to new MMO players, especially if they are coming from a console-oriented controller. Its a total non-issue though if the person has played any other MMO. GW2 has a very unique take on character roles (tank, healer, dps, etc...), end game progression and emphasis on massive open world content that only appeals to a minority of MMO players. GW2 is ultra weak in end-game, instanced group content and anyone expecting GW2 to have what other games provide in raids and dungeons and similar will be very disappointed and the end-game issues is probably what hurts GW2 the most in the long run.
  18. Don't think we need an extra specialization for underwater. We absolutely need more underwater weapons choices (some professions only have 1 weapon that works underwater) and make more skills work underwater.

  20. I decided to test this on the golem and you're right. For me and my gear vs an avg sized golem with avg health warhorn fire 5 did approx 25k per cast total damage vs 2 casts of dagger 4 (2 casts since its a 12 sec cd vs war 5's 24 sec) doing approx 15k total damage warhorn light 5 did something like 8k single target per cast vs almost negligible damage for both dagger lightning abilities water did favor the warhorn for damage but dagger's water abilities I think are better defensively with e earth dagger 5 was slightly better overall damage vs warhorn earth 5. It inflicts a huge amount of bleeding I guess this is one of those situations where the ability descriptions really fail to fully describe how the abilities work. Dagger does provides 54% more CC bar damage, defensive utility and mobility and I can see why its the clear choice for pvp/wvw. Warhorn is certainly better in pve. i stand corrected.

  22. I’m wondering if Warhorn is recommended over dagger in pve because it’s more group friendly which was more important before elite specs and specialized support builds became so impactful. Now in raid and strikes each subgroup has 2 support guys bringing heals, alac, quick, stab, and might out the wazoo, the subpar boons/heals from a guy running full viper or zerk isn’t really useful, but the paradigm remains and people use warhorns because they always have.

My searches seem to indicate that markdown doesn’t exist for this site. My attempts to use markdown and html tags which other sites recognize don’t work here . Requesting the desktop site doesn’t work either to show the missing formatting options on the formatting toolbar
