  1. Also, the dialogue in the newest expansion seems identical for all races. So they wouldn't even need to rewrite that one. ...I believe that the very reason they made it identical was so that it'd be easier to add new races in the future.
  2. Where are all these bounty trains when I'm playing? Is it only US players who run those, is that why there's never any in my time zone? :/
  3. Would require too much work on armors and animation (not to mention the mounts), so it seems extremely unlikely to happen. Even if I'd like to see them. Also, Kodans running around in desert zones would feel completely out of place.
  4. And I have to agree. Being a figurehead was fine, but this expansion dropped all pretenses of "everyone must work together to defeat the enemy", and instead became typical power fantasy. We're the dragonborn now. Being the 'chosen one' cheapens all accomplishes, because we were 'fated' to succeed.
  5. Just gonna list the dislikes. Bounties fail too often. Bounty dailies are irritating, because those can't be soloed. For example, yesterday's PvE dailies included a dungeon and bounties, so I had to play WvW instead to get the dailies done.Aggro radius is too large, and repops too frequent. Constant combat takes all joy out of exploration. There's so much focus on combat in the story that getting to the good parts (actual story) takes too long. I'm old, my reactions aren't good enough for the boss battles.Glad to see that renown hearts are back, but they feel like busywork compared to core Tyria.Edit: pruned to under 100 words.
  6. Yeah, can we just drop this topic? The only reason there weren't enough mastery points on first days was because the story was timing out and players couldn't get those points. So raptor 3 was unreachable.
  7. The randomness means that eventually anyone should be able to complete it. Took me about ten tries, but eventually he asked for water and coconuts several times in a row.
  8. Raptor 3 is clearly the biggest hurdle, especially if you lack gliding and can't get the quicksand mastery. After that there's no shortage of them.
  9. Tried it again, just to check. Nope, it was actually worse this time. Stopped counting after killing fourty reinforcements. Couldn't figure out any way to stop them from re-spawning, either. I think this is either glitched (since some players don't seem to get as many adds) or we're meant to avoid the reinforcements and focus on the boss. That tip did not work at all.As far as I can tell, the explosion only damages single forged no matter how clustered together they are (even though AoE would make more sense). And they kept re-spawning faster than I could lob explosives at them. Hardly effective. Not to mention that the explosives only did no more than 1% damage to the boss, which is definitely not 'a nice chunk'. It's far more effective to just kill it the old-fashioned way.
  10. Yep. One from the chef, one from the memory game, another on the west edge of the map. The other three require new mounts, or gliding. And I very much doubt that many players will be able to figure out the quicksand mastery without consulting a guide, since it took a long time for the beta players to collectively solve that.
  11. Just saw some guardian spam "Save Yourselves!" at the chef. That was hilariously ineffective, since it also made the chef run faster (and harder to hit).
  12. Yeah, those adds were crazy. 30 seems like an exaggeration, but I can count a group of 12 mobbing me in one screenshot. And then they camped at the checkpoint. Rytlock went down easily, and so did my armor after that. The disjointed dialogue after beating the boss was pretty funny, though: Rytlock bragging that he's fought tougher children, even though he was downed multiple times in the battle. And then an another boss afterwards. No refugees left alive by the end, had to let npcs handle it while I idled armorless. Random thought: was it because I managed to kill all of the scouts, without raising alert? Maybe the game ported in all reinforcements at once.
  13. There's only four mastery points on the first map that are accessible without other mounts, and it takes six points to get the rabbit. So yeah, that's a problem, especially if you can't get the story to load. Like many of European players.
  14. I'm sure it'll get easier once there's less of a crowd, but it is pretty bad at the moment. Hard to tell who's the chef among all the pcs, etc.
  15. On the top of that, the mobs seem to repop almost instantly. I kill one, and another one repops before I'm done killing the next. Not that there's much point in fighting anyway, don't need more xp. So most of my experience so far consists of running away and dodging attacks. Not exactly my idea of fun, and definitely doesn't feel 'heroic'. And that's with a Guardian. Can't imagine what it'll be like with my squishier alts.
  16. Can't, the instances aren't loading. And all remaining masteries are unreachable without new mounts, as far as I can tell. So pretty much stuck here, just wasting xp exploring with max bar.
  17. I stopped caring about player housing after playing a couple of MMOs that had that. You spend a lot of time decorating, but hardly anyone else will see it and most of your time is spent adventuring anyway. It'd be even more pointless in GW2 because there's no global chat, so there's really not much you can do at 'home'.
  18. Voted for 'new playable race', but that'd depend on the race. Would definitely buy it for Tengu, but most of the other suggestions seem pretty meh. Some, such as Largoz, might make me play less: they're just too 'edgy'. I know I wouldn't have to play as one, but it'd mean that there'd be a lot more of them as NPCs. As for new professions? Definite buy if they added monks, would love to try Asura Monk. And bards sound interesting too.
