  1. did they really promise to make some use for them? i doubt that, anet loves Wvw players having their small pockets filled with useless stuff. alone the obsidian shard stacks and bloodstune dust etc stacks that i delete over the years x) and yes, i know the bloodstone has a converter, but its a pve one, and i don't bother to get them by doing pve... same reason why i also didn't make any of my precursor drops into a legendary, i cannot be bothered to do the gift of exploration. hence i got 37 GoBs, 3 or 4 precusors, but not a single legendary weapon :9 same thing with the speartip thingy that drops now and then and well, the avenger stacks are also a prominent part of the space-wasting, but what can u do about that? we should not have to remind anet about this. like they gave us nothing for Wvw with the EoD specs directly, outside of the skins from the promotion campaign lol. and the extra loot bot, but eh, that's barely what u can expect from buying an expansion... it doesn't even remotely outweight all the toxic class nerfs that happened recently to PoF specs.
  2. question is, where u start and end this... people are also wasting map spots if they only run into enemy blob and die alone, or run full into dmg and insta die & by that help enemy groups rally, and if they run at sight from any fight and so on 😛 ergo, i don't think there should be any change to the afk running into a wall - thing. it doesn't harm anyone really. most of the times, when u have a queue and no people, its not wall-runners. most of these people are doing some random things in some random places on the map. think i never saw more than 10 wall runners at one map, that's still 64~ people who are on the map and just not doing anything (if u lack numbers to defend) like there's always these who escort dollies and camp camps with 10+ people instead of defending a tower or keep etc, u cannot really fix players and anet consciously nerfed good players by making skills and classes be easier to use, but far less powerful, so that numbers now effectively win 90% of the time.
  3. it's not that really more ppl are playing i'd say. it's pretty random if ur "team" has activity still, and where it would have activity. some seem very dead, other have those classy filled server 40+ queue on primetime plus, during the beta there's always these pvE rewards (fast wxp and track gain, call of the mists) which lead to more unrelated people jumping into Wvw to farm their gift of battle pve rewards...
  4. anet messed simply up again. they added a new tab one week before beta without any explaination. i noticed tho that of my 3 accounts, also those where i picked team, it didn't always put me on the selected team, it just was superrandom. it should have nevertheless prioritzed the selected guild, which it sadly did also not.
  5. the absurdly fun thing is: this would not have happened if they didn't randomly add the "teams" tab. they nearly messed this up on purpose. no info, new tab, full fail.

  7. ye i only got the mail on 1 of my 4 accounts too xD also i tested it on 3 accounts, picking a guild + a team triggers kinda gamble. u get randomly either on the team or the guild's world. that's so silly ngl.
  8. that's what some people thought, but apparently nope. i have three accounts, all on random matchups now. nice beta. it ignored the guild picks when u picked a team as well.... and even if u picked a team, there's no guarantee that u would get on that. (had that on one character) anet as usual, u don't need to expect anything to get disappointed... oh well. @Chaba.5410 i now and then log into all accounts at least for daily chest, so ye. notsure if even that helped tho, i heard of ppl just beeing on random teams nontheless.
  9. yep, it was a pretty weird choice that anet informed us not even one week before the beta start and added a new "teams" channel there, on which u can additionally pick your world. i think nobody yet knows for sure how it works. the last info we got afaik was still "choose your Wvw guild"... so either the team sign up is only for guildless pugs, or they forgot to tell us we have to pick a world/team as well... who knows.
  10. i cannot really recommend any server at this point, there are only bad choices :9 also define content... are u a ppter? that and running with a 60 ppl blob are the only options that still exist in Wvw, and the "balance" made it even worse now
  11. just that the "anet managed" system with serverlinkings has never really worked. so the @Dawdler.8521 complaint makes about zero sense. they throw things around randomly, using some ppt algorithm that makes zero sense whatsoever, and repeat that simply. and all the pve/ppt farmer bandwagoners and other kitten ganker groups ,who only seek easy matchups, will just hop after the relinkings and within a few days u have to same mess again
  12. u don't even understand the gamemode man population is never a problem. there's always ppl around, just most are far too inexperienced and mechanically clueless to do stuff. random pugmanders make things even worse. the numerical differences in servers are mostly player-made. it's close to impossible to balance them rewards for winning a ppt score are pointless. the whole ppt system is only a numbers game. so by making rewards there, you would create the problem that u think is atm a problem... currently rewards are worthless, so numbers of ppl directly don#t matter too much. only numbers on a blob, so stacked numbers matter. but for that u don't need total numerical advantage over the other servers. if they have tons of off hour population etc they can still be full and have bigger ppt and wtf is a "giga map"... well yeah, spvp players are spoilt brats, nothing new .. do u really believe they just gonna make one map bigger or merge maps? that would create absurd more lags, probably. they even did in the past reduce the "ppl per side per border" caps. and yeah, they should have made maps somehow bigger with warclaw introduction. or just not give us the warclaw at all, it has been harmful to the gamemode. only reasonable idea here is to revivie EotM. but tbf, most servers don't even have enough numbers overall to cover the main maps.
  13. don't fool yourselves, there is nothing left in this gamemode that could create something even close to an identity. only bad mentality, cowardish playstyle is left here. no-name blobs rampage around and are nearly unstoppable. it's a sad view honestly every update makes the situation just worse. like this one, horrible. nobody wasted more than 5min for the whole update planning... i'm closer to abandoning this game than ever before, there's no point anymore in playing a mode that gets actively destroyed without any reason
  14. @Gorani.7205 ye well, the majority probably doesn't know that there are four maps and most have three exits from spawn (think RBL has only two for some weird reason, fits the map) . and funnily, telling them changes nothing. they cannot read. @Xoranium.6481 what is that even supposed to mean? plus, there's no way to balance "outnumbered". u literally cannot do much unless u have a tryhard group on the map. that's the single only group of players who don't need to care much about it, but anets balancing nerf-waves made those also really struggling. anet wants numbers to win any fight sadly. so u're wrong, there's no solution. not even a single one. @Geezer.3947 not really. the biggest issue is that pugs run blindly with lacking coordination into that very killzone and get farmed. and that anet nerfs group compositions solely, and not all the random roamer memes equally not fully sure what u think, but the only possible thing to avoid hiding in objectives would be to make the siege automatically disappear (so u couldn't refresh it to keep it alive) u obviously cannot just completely make a keep turn colors each hour, that'd be absurd
  15. absolute joke post i guess? or someone talking about things he/she .. it ... never played. scrapper stab is quite bad, scrapper has just 1 reflect on hammer2 or shield eventually. scrappers bulwark gyro provides next to nothing and is as mentioned by someone yet, a suicide button more often than not healscrapper got so many nerfs that it lost a lot of value in group compositions. it's really medicore now sadly and that did hurt groups a lot. ofc blobs won't care, they have this strength in numbers scheme and never had useful scrappers in most cases anyways
  16. that's also quit blurry written... roaming is half dead bc of all the smallscale ganker groups, roamers cannot fight zergs anymore since warclaw release and dps nerfs, they have about zero effect on a largescale fight (at least alone, a cloud of 20+ is obviously sooner becoming a cloudzerg fyi) most zergs aren't very organised. they just blob around with 40+ on voice, and not even the "commander" really knows what to do, it's pretty much the by far most common zerg/blob gameplay these days, bc its the easiest and hard to touch, even by strong groups, as size now effectively does matter and eh, ppl don't kill anything bc they play not the right classes for it, that's more the issue. normally things still die fast in 50v50 bvb fights, but these became extremly rare. ppl don't aim the fight at even numbers, as overnumbers provide now a higher advantage - that's what the "balance" patches brought us, gg anet. ___ i semi agree on downstates beeing bad for some classes. it's again bc anet doesn't give 1 sh#t, not a single one. they could have easily changed ele downstate, which shouldn't exist alike in Wvw. also thief downstate (it shouldn't be allowed to stealth+port), then ranger+engi should have pets/bot despawn __ and spvp has a completely different balancing overall if u didn't notice yet. for some reason anet care there more about not keeping dmg and sustain of selfish classes and builds as OP as it is in Wvw, for example renegades, eles, thieves, rangers, warriors, all are way more easy to kill in spvp balance
  17. anet balances Wvw the whole time towards making superior numbers untouchable sadly. so that's what u get by this policy @Dawdler.8521 two times is the absolute minimum. even with all the nerfs, against a random cloud u should win against three times your size. but the recent changes made server rely on numbers - anet paved the way for zero skill blobbing sadly.
  18. anet won't respond either way... i guess many people did expect sth with EoD, but nobody really wondered that nothing happened mapwise. red border is just a flawed design. spawn behind north camp /(air and fire better accessable actually for attacker than for the homing faction etc) and fyi, they didn't even bother to fix the half-zoom fire keep map view bug that for whatever reason appeared like half a year ago lol and bro. the hay is fun and games, but absolutely not practical for fights. the garri mechanics are fully pointless, the air and fire ones also depend on the shrines. not a good design, because as with bloodlust, the higher number server can just flood these and usually u won't have bored elite spvpers who bother to tryhard 1v3s on there with this current balance (kinda doubt it's possible, i rarely even see 1v1 or 1v2 happening these days. its gank or run usually at "roaming") people also ask for ages yet to revivie EotM, nothing happened on that too. idk what @roederich.2716 is about, but gw2 overall is rather known as super casual game, and since the balance gets worse and worse, most tryharding groups overall did quit the game yet. many even did so years ago. idk what "gvg" elite u think to see, are they flying across the maps on their pink winged unicorns? especially as the gvg people are those u will never see, as the 15v15 mode (which is the one usually referred to as gvg) is usually done in EotM arena. like these small groups have literally no impact on anything that the ppter blobs affect by any means and the openfield gvg, which has been 20v20 up to 25v25 traditionally (during the last years) is as good as dead, as there's pretty much no guilds left that could even do that, but a handful. (on EU, idk if these even happen in NA, think not bc the NA guilds run far more sgvg sized = smaller)
  19. u realize that its the same with servers and ppt? they are equally faceless and winning ppt matchups is equally pointless just by the point/tick score, there's nothing to win. but what u missed:: alliances in the final format are merges of equal sized guilds, not the same thing directly as in the beta tests sofar. the beta tests till now had just random matchmaking, as the were plainly testing stuff like assigning players to teams and other basic issues that the old spaghetti code might cause...
  20. doing dmg on some engi builds is literally the same as thief ranger and all the other yolo-glass-clowns... idk what ur asking here. yes, it is okay with me that u are blind? or what do u want to hear?
  21. thats just also not the point. it doesn't matter what players think of matchups really. but it would effectively babygate the bandwagoning pugs, who transfer plainly for the easiest ganks. like whenever known groups of players transfer, there is a ton of leeching bandwagoners transfering like 2-3 weeks after this to strong servers, messing those up completely. this kinda behaviour could be circled out, if pugs who have no direct guild to rep get not the option to transfer-chase others yet again, the game is in a dire status atm. alliances would require active guilds kinda. and that last paragraph is just a pretty bold theory idk. nobody knows anets real intentions, or if the wvw hamster has intentions at all
  22. i mean that was my first time fighting a mech and several months ago, thats why i didn't know. it made a full HP oneshot on my cele core guard (new account, starter gear) after literally failing to hit me once before, which made it extra surprising. anyways, anet should learn to split pve and wvw finally.
