  1. Fine, then you're not the one I'm asking. Also nobody ever said anything about it being easy or for the lazy, that's what you interpreted. And people like you are exactly why I'm firmly in opposition to raid content on a fundamental level.
  2. That's probably because for most players, raids are only stressful, and not fun.
  3. Get the word 'need' out of the conversation. We're playing a game, we don't NEED any of this. We're talking about making it more enjoyable for more people.
  4. So you're in favor of rescinding every legendary weapon in the game? Also who said anything about a lack of challenge? You REALLY think 10 man content is the only challenging content in the game?
  5. No, probably not, but then I never think about 10 man content as I detest it.
  6. Important question, did you vote? If so, why bother with this post?
  7. That's like giving someone on a boat in the middle of a category 5 hurricane an umbrella and calling it good.
  8. I mean, simplest possible conceptual solution is they'd have to create a piece of code that acts like a cross-instance Prototype Position Rewinder. I don't think they have any code in existence yet that quite does that, and I don't know what would happen if you tried to make that existing piece of code function cross-instance.
  9. Problem: I detest raids on every conceivable level. They've destroyed or damaged the community of every MMO I've ever played, and I'm very tired of seeing them. Therefor, no matter how enticing you make them, I will not take part.
  10. I'd consider that a voluntary abstention from the poll. You'd also be talking about an extreme minority of the playerbase that wouldn't take a poll simply because the reward was keys to chests. There's no way to avoid *some* level of response bias, all you can do is try to understand that bias and view your data through that lens.
  11. *tents fingers* Poopsnacks, I think you're right. That would be a ridiculous amount of coding they'd hafta shoehorn in, and gods know what could go wrong.
  12. You're both right, thank you, I've tried to remove argumentative posts that I've made.
  13. I actually think there should be a way for you to get that through only 10 man content and gold, if that's the content you want to play. I think pvp, wvw, raids, and open world should each have a route to a full suit of legendary gear within each type of content.
  14. It'll come closer than anything I've seen thus far. At least I'll have some numbers from some subset of the community.
  15. My spouse has a very difficult time seeing the names of people in party, as those blue names tend to meld VERY well into 95% of environments in game. I 100% agree with you that we need at the very least a 'colorblind' mode if not the ability to choose the color of fonts for each display channel ourselves. I'm going to keep watching this space, but if you find something that fixes this for you would you please shoot me a message in the forums?
  16. You're not wrong, and I'm aware, but I couldn't even get a sense of the balance of the scales just from our forum warriors in the last thread. In-game my feedback is also heavily weighted, as I mostly play open world content, so I encounter a LOT of people who feel the same way I do about the matter. I might have better luck getting balanced feedback in some place like Mistlock or even the Lily of Elon, but that would be hugely labor intensive and I have no means by which to guarantee I'm actually getting the kind of balanced community feedback I'd be looking for. I mean there are further problems with that too. Open world moderately casual players outnumber raiders probably at least 10 to 1, even if you only count open world players who already have at least 1 legendary item. They're naturally going to say yes to this question, so in terms of weight of players realistically there's no way that the "no's" could possibly win this poll if we asked EVERY GW2 player. So maybe it's best to ask the people invested enough to actually come to the forums and respond to polls like this? I don't pretend to know, I'm just sating a curiosity itch that I've had for a while.
  17. All that gave me was the intensity of certain people's feelings. I want to see if I can get the numbers behind the feelings of the community. In the thread that I started I had maybe 5 or 6 people STRONGLY against it, which a lot of their arguments boiled down to "it's not about me having it, it's about you not." While I had easily 2 to 3 times as many either interested or supporting it. I don't really want to debate the idea again in this thread, that's what the last thread was for and it exploded because of the raider community. I'm really just wondering about numbers. Easy or hard to get, special skins or not, all of that is immaterial, I want to know how people feel about the basic idea of a set of pve legendary armor that avoids raids and strikes. A lot of players absolutely hate that content, and as a result are forced into wvw or pvp if they want legendary armor, which feels a bit unfair. Edit: if I had been thinking, I would have put a poll on the original thread when I made it.
  18. Curious about how many people feel which way about this topic. Edit: This WAS the start of a poll before admins merged the threads and deleted the poll.
  19. IMO, the biggest problem there is that Mistlock is the only one that offers the port BACK to the map you ported there from. If you added that to all the VIP Lounges, the load would spread much more evenly.
  20. This smells like a "Graphics matter more than gameplay" player.
  21. New racial elite would be you turn into a swarm of skritt that's exponentially more intelligent, which translates into like a 10x damage boost for 10 seconds. But if the ability is on cooldown you have a 25% chance of hitting yourself with your own damaging abilities, and it has a 3 minute cooldown.
  22. I mean, if they're going to give us a new race, it better be Skritt and it better be launched on April 1st just to really rub in how much they're messing with us.
  23. No, it'd be...they'd have to make a new starting city AND starting zone, or do some hamfisted thing like have it be basically a reskin over another race and you pick which city to start in and basically play as a - for instance - human storyline...you're talking about as much work or more than what goes into the core world of the expansion just to introduce them into core Tyria. Then two new voice-actors to voice the ENTIRETY of the game up to that point, so on and so on and so on. Look, it's a completely unreasonable expectation at this point. This isn't the era of Dark Age of Camelot or something where new races were relatively easy to attach to an expansion. You'd be dealing with new animation packs and having to create new meshes and sometimes all new designs for over a thousand skins that are already in the game...the workload would be ludicrous.
  24. Man, if y'all are here for cutscenes and nothing else I dunno what to do with that.
