  1. I would comeback to this game fulltime in a heartbeat if bards became a thing here. It's my favorite archetype in RPGs I think it's quite easy to implement too. As suggested, give mesmers a weapon that they could use as a musical instrument (shorbow as a harp for example) and give em shouts. Every skill that generates clones would generate a clone that doesn't attack but plays a musical instrument instead that offers a stacking buff of something, and the shatters can be flavored as an "encore" where the bard and his illusionary bandmates would do a flourish and F1: deal damage, F2: give conditions, F3: CC, F4: make the bard invulnerable, while each providing specific boons to allies.
  2. I actually just stopped playing gw2 entirely because 1) roaming is dead and 2) elementalists are not worth using. I only play wizards/mages in MMOs and i find it weird that the wizard class in this game is just a healbot/aurabot.
  3. fresh air tempest is actually pretty easy. just spam the air overload. It's my go to build when i want to relax in open world farming/tagging.
  4. That thumbnail gave me a mini heart attack lol. good stuff
  5. I personally thought this is what dragon hunter should have got instead of the bow, it just makes more sense. Lore-wise Braham took up his mother's bow becoming the first DH so I think it makes sense. regardless of lore in fantasy a dragon hunter type of character with heavy armor should use a spear. You say should as if it's a matter-of-fact. What are you basing this on? Final Fantasy? Lore matters. Sorry.
  6. Hammers are meant to be slow though big difference. Long bows being slow weapons makes sense too btw.
  7. I feel like you cant go wrong with any build as a Guardian/FB/DH. Power/Hybrid/Condi all work in Open World/PVP/WVW. Maybe less so for DH in terms of condi builds.
  8. Why would you vote on a thread like this if you dont have any other experience with other classes? lmao

  10. If that auto attack projectile was a bit faster and staff 3 was changed to deal burning or confusion it'd be a good utility weapon while still having enough offensive pressure for condi builds. Would be nice if Mesmers could transmute Staff 4 too to spread random condis in an aoe, i mean it makes sense because eles can transmute the 4 elements because that's the magic they specialize in while mesmer specialize in chaos magic.
  11. Or let confusion tick the damage at the end of its duration if it wasnt procced the whole time it was on.-
  12. Battle maul shouldn't even exist. The mounts shouldnt even have utility attached to it. Unfortunately, there seems to be a large portion of the playerbase (the zerglings who dont want to die when they're running to their zerg) don't want mounts removed because it made travelling the map risk free for them.
  13. Revenants arent weak. They are least played because they are not a f2p class.
  14. Would you be able to link me a good FB build? The rotations on the ones I can see on metabattle look complicated. Will be leveling this guy up from 1, so what is a good leveling build to prepare me for the FB? Thanks in advance. The ones in metabattle are fine imo. After trying out firebrands in pvp. I can say that they are one of the simpler classes to use out there. Dont be intimidated by the “rotations.”
  15. Have you guys seen the #makeroaminggreatagain power core mesmer videos? It seems pretty good
  16. https://pa1.narvii.com/5759/0e7de8ab07160c079ef0038195735335afa407f2_hq.gif Lancer’s Gae Bolg should be in this game if spears are given to warriors!
  17. Why would you use a 1200 range weapon from the frontline ? I'm all for balancing range and melee so you can play both, but when you take a range weapon, you're supposed to go backline :) So if you're doing raids/fracs/dungeons/strikes/etc. you should move off the stack and not get buffs/healing and potentially make it harder to dodge attacks, simply because "you're supposed to go backline"? The tradeoff is supposed to be : range = safer, melee = stronger. If you're both safer and stronger stacking in melee range, the tradeoff become meaningless. The issue is that stacking in melee is not dangerous enough, while being at range is deadlier. But it's on the boss designer to balance melee and range. There are some means by which boss design can balance melee and range :Threats that can only be dealt with from afarPhases when melee is too deadly so range DPS can catch upHaving a stacking damage debuff at close range so melee DPS have to retreat a bit to allow the stacks to resetMaking a boss that teleport so melee waste time closing the distanceSpawning adds with range attacks so melee waste time switching target back and forth.I dont have enough experience in raids but i gotta ask. Are all 900/1200 range weapons "weak" dps wise compared to melee counterparts for all classes? Because this quoted statement will only hold true if all ranged weapons behave like this.
  18. Hmmm Carrion does make sense, plus exotic is easy to obtain. Thanks. I’ll start with that. I’m still unsure if i should go with core thief or daredevil.
  19. Hey guys! with the nerf to p/d condi thief (which was warranted imo), I'm thinking of building one now. I'm pretty sure dire/trailblazer won't cut it, but since pistol also does good power damage, I was wondering what to run. Would I want the expertise or the precision? I'm planning on running this on core theif for the good steal range and to be able to run trickery, SA, and DA.
  20. Which professions do you think would this fit with? I think spears have a lot of potential as a ground weapon. Some classes can wield it as a poke-y mid-ranged weapon while others could have it as a sweeping aoe weapon. It can also be used creatively as a thrown weapon either physically or magically. Personally, I'd like for warriors to gain access to spears as a ground weapon and have them play as archetypal spearmen. Mesmers could also use it as sort of a levitating weapon around them similar to how Xaldin from the Kingdom Hearts Series uses his spears. Would be a much needed power option for mesmers.
  21. Bruh imo, the entire DE spec is garbage. It capitalizes so hard on the weakness of Thief and disguises it as its strength. I find it extremely funny as well, that I could dust off my old Sic'em pew pew SB and managed to down a DE in a single One Wolf Pack Sic'Em combo. hmmm What tradeoff?Oh yu mean Kneel still allowing dodge rolling for Stealth and using Shadow Step? A real trade off is to stop DE from rolling in Kneel :^) So... do you want DEs nerfed or not? Your statements are confusing. I think this shows the state of many people on this forum. They take a single isolated mechanic/skill, deem it OP, claim it needs to be nerfed (but in many cases removed, because if my class can't do it, then nobody should) and when they realise they're wrong for example after they contradict themselves, follow up with a meme or a joke in an attempt to not completely admit it and *poof*, gone. :anguished: IKR. Plain nonsense.
  22. Also, ganking is a perfectly viable way to play WvW. > @Mil.3562 said: Why do you consider this to be a problem? I consider that a problem too. As for the reasons, read thru OP's posts again. And search for many such topics too. We are not asking for a buff. We are hopping that ANet would for once listen to the non gankers. OP, WvW veterans are not the ones that asked for the many nerfs, if you read those forum posts carefully before Warclaw was crippled, many were roamers who liked to go solo or form small groups, hide and then jumped on unsuspecting players. They whined and cried the loudest in rhe forum, until today. At least make the Warclaw's movement faster in our own zone, like before.Mounts shouldn't be an "avoid all combat when I want" mechanic so im fine with it like hits. IMO mounts weren't nerfed enough, if you ask me the jump shouldn't have an evade tied to it. If you are not asking for a buff, but you want anet to listen to you so what are you asking for? The mere fact that mounts are in WvW shows that ANet listened to YOU, the "i need to be in my zerg" crowd. Ganking is a perfectly viable playstyle in wvw, and I enjoy standing between your spawn point and your zerg to try to delay the pugs from reaching their zerg as quickly.
  23. +1 to this. I want that light warbeast chest on my guardian. Im a fan of light armored clerics/priests but not paladins. Please let me look like one on my guardian.
