  1. Skills that are acquired only to be limited to one map are a waste of player time. Skills should change how the player interacts with the whole game. At least in PvE. Masteries have gotten so bad with the Icebrood Saga that I haven't been enthusiastic about completing them. Of course the problem didn't start with it. It can be traced back to LWS3. Yeah. I can't even think of any reason why this skill restriction exists, at least for some of the masteries. Seems like an arbitrary and poorly thought out concept that was implemented. We got a few of them in other maps and more in Dragonfall so they CAN do them but they won't which gives me pause. So WHY? My only guess is a weak logic of those masteries staying around the map that contains that plot explanation and maybe the spaghetti code, allegedly. Having a mastery mechanic where we can pledge ourselves to a human god and get that hymn some where out there would be pretty cool.

Masteries have gotten so bad with the Icebrood Saga that I haven't been enthusiastic about completing them. Of course the problem didn't start with it. It can be traced back to LWS3. They need to revamp the mastery system and as I said before move some to core for new players. Maybe a core mobility mastery track that includes water skate that allows travel toys to travel over water at walking/running speed (to make them more than just fluff items), Pact Launch Pad (with more pads added around), bouncing mushrooms and Oakheart's essence (not usable in JPs). The last two could be spread around Tyria to allow new players to get around better before they earn their mounts. Not the mention some of the mount masteries. The extra endurance one is good but is irrelevant to springer. The linking vitality one is not great also because the mount doesn't have the same stats as you so that vitality goes down fast and then your downed so the risk isn't worth it so I never use it. They SAID they could revamp old maps....well here we are. Do it.
  3. I want the hearts and more events to return. Each heart is usually a chunk of story but I assume they are trying to have each map be unique or different from others. Variety is attractive.
  4. As someone who does not PvE often and only just began PoF/finished its prerequisite story like a week ago, I see this as only a good thing. Being unable to even participate in new content due to the gating of stuff behind masteries and mounts due to their overbearing importance is a really bad feeling. I don't want to be there doing the content; I just want new skins and stat options made available. I think the mastery system is one of the weakest elements of the game's expansions altogether. It really doesn't change gameplay from the "Go here and do this event" ktrain mentality at all; it just adds another layer of complexity and gatekeeping behind it. I think adding more armor sets and weapons would probably get people more excited than bouncing on mushrooms etc. I agree, I CANNOT fathom why we got those gliding skills and the Siren's hymns just to never use them again unless we magically go back to those maps. We are able to use the Counter Magic one and the extra downed skill so why not have those other ones at least in Central Tyria. Its a waste and WE all know it.
  5. You need to stack 30 per color to have its respective essence available for CC (and damage) -- simple. The thing is it can take a while to get to 30 stacks and in between fights and then all that effort for a 15 min buff but only towards one type of enemy? Those are great mechanics for the Drakkar fight and meta but for PVE its not very feasible unless you grind for 45 min. They should revamp that system and you receive time on the buff from the pickups initially instead of requiring the stacks. I think they did course correct and that's why the latest essence manipulation skill can be towards any enemy.
  6. I think there just isn't a clear enough vision from those in charge so that they can effectively lead their teams into developing logical content. So Icebrood saga is or is not LW season 5? WHY is that even a thing to consider when they been adamant about their LW model the entire life of the game. Realistic and unfortunately I'm wondering if Icebrood Saga is just their interim project and asset they can scramble together while they make the next expansion and also the side effects of them losing all those employees. They have probably had to shift so many things internally and making any kind of gaming content does take a long time. We should at least have some sympathy and understanding for them since those layoffs. They essence manipulation system is ok. I don't hate it. It's just a bit clunky and with the timers and required amounts makes it not sustainable to go after every time you come to the match. If it was optimized then I think people would go after it. Killing 10 enemies and you get that buff that lasts for 30/1hr? Great! Killing 30 enemies and it lasts only 15 min? Not so great. Instead of each attack being a KAMEHAMEHA I thought it would be more interesting if each was unique like red being the beam, green being a targeted AOE and blue being a small cone. It would have been interesting and creepy if the Whispers said stuff according to your profession and maybe some of your past accomplishments. IMAGINE Jormag whispering "what's the point of saving children if you can't even save yourself...." IF you had the Extra Life AP 0_0 They should have had the forest area be like the underground labyrinth area in Silverwastes where you could be killed instantly because of XYZ. Drakkar is a great meta after they optimized it and when they add VO in Drizzlewood it'll be even better. I've said this before and I'll say it again...its ALL about the leaders and management. If we can't even get the Game Director that left LAST November to say goodbye that gives me pause about what other lacks of communication are going on behind the scenes.
  7. its been HOW many years and the laser and Teq getting blasted visual STILL don't line up? Like cmon bruh....
  8. Report back after testing to see if some or all of the issues have been corrected. I personally won't be able to check for several more hours. Definitely working better than it was. FOV seems to be more or less back to normal and my Reaper #2 actually landed the target. So early indicators are hopeful. Can confirm autoattacking, promoting target etc are a bit more accurate and responsive. I do think the programming has a few algorithms its goes through about which target is closest vs which target is in the center of the screen at that time when we attack so it juggles those requirements.
  9. What you MEANT was the GW2 players that YOU have met were unfortunately not friendly. Of course, what you see as unfriendly might be different than what others might perceive those actions or words to be. For me, the majority of people I've met on Guild Wars 2 have been friendly. Nah, it's a fact. Step into any strike raid or fractal and watch the chaos.Saying you never seen mean people while only doing open world isn't relevant.Eh, when did I say open world? Clearly, if you are having a hard time understanding my two-sentence post that does shed some light on your interpretation skills. I HAVE played strikes, PVP and PVE. While there was an uptick in negativity in strikes and PVP it wasn't that much more than PVE.

  11. -Ascended Utility buff to go with Ascended Food.-Another overhaul of the loot and have the loot that can't be traded on the market or sold to vendors to at least be sold for copper.-Option to reduce damage numbers around enemies because they are so big sometimes I can't even see the action.-Home instance we can customize some.
  12. Ultimatly striles don't really have a (real) target audiace, they're "too hard" for the casuals and too easy for the "hardcores". As for deciding for one of these groups I feel like at this point going for the side of the playerbase that seeks more challenging content is the only thing that still makes sense. Strikes already accumulated too much of a stigma to be serviceable for the casual part of the playerbase. If they ever want to introduce dungeon / raid like content for the casual player base they need a fresh start with the stated goal of providing casual friendly instanced group content. What I don't get is why have Strike Missions at all if their goal is to magically lead to raids yet they fired the raid team?
  13. I was one of the lucky winners for the FRIENDSHIPS contest and got a custom drawing of me and my friend. I decided to get very creative; Raymera is a Sylvari Veil Hunter (ranger+mesmer) who has a female clone watching his back. Phenix is a human Firebrand who has wings and commands blue flames. In this commission, we are "flexing" our powers as you see them combine; symbolized by my butterflies from the Grove Hydria flying up into his conjured orb. They are infused and become something greater; much like what our friendship has done for us. Enjoy and may you continue to cultivate deep and meaningful friendships in your own lives during these trying times. Thanks again to @shuuzaar and ArenaNet!
  14. I expect due to Covid-19 their communication is even more limited than usual BUT I will say Mike Z just leaving the company without even a goodbye and allegedly we have a new Game Director but not even an intro from him. NCSoft west seems to have their fingers all up in the decisions now which gives me ACTIVISION vibes. Good luck to us all.
  15. I think the discrepancy is not so much in it being Norn focused but having very little Norn involved. There are some Vigil soldiers and a sprinkle of Norn fighters but that's it. The Charr legions are very involved with the releases so far while the Norn lodges aren't at all (besides the appearences of the Spirits). I do hope they get more involved since Jormag was their number one enemy for so long.
  16. Release-wise that's correct but when it comes to people/armies involved its very heavily Char Focused at this moment. It will probably change and I hope it does because to not have a norn army face the #1 norn enemy is a little silly to me. The Norn I know lorewise wouldn't not be sitting by watching what was happened in these episodes and not done SOMETHING by now.
  17. OMG I thought I suddenly became like a terrible player because my targeting is all over the friggin place now and not promote targeting almost ever and yeah i keep targeting non-enemies and since skill don't work like that you'll either fly towards an ally or not do anything. Make sure you put in a ticket because I will too.
  18. In game theory- smart, accessible, and sometimes custimized content is the most desired and most fun. Options and choice are the leading power dynamic so its mind-boggling when it appears they are making amateurish mistakes in their game design model and overall vision. The number one reason people are unhappy at work while their job performance plummets is because- MANAGEMENT. Just saying...
  19. The only way around that, to some degree is miniziming the model limit but even at the lowest that makes some enemies disappear unless clicked on. The visual DIARRHEA I like to call it is a bit of a nuissance. I usually do PVE so I used arcdps to turn off damage numbers and absolutely love it. WAY too many numbers flying at me to see the combat. Maybe they'll optimize it further because they do prevent you from seeing full animations and effects on other player abilities but we need more of that. Like an option to not see anybody elses abilities or effects at all if we wish.
  20. There seems to be direct and indirect ways of creating revenue. Direct is like buying gems for the myriad of skins that are constantly on the market or even past episodes and indirect is just from time spent in game that might eventually lead to a direct purchase. On some level I don't think raids ever had a correlation to direct revenue aside from access from purchasing the game and expansions; many people already bought them years ago. Earning the appropriate gear and training can all be done in game so while I love free content if they really thought raids would have lead to huge amounts in direct revenue I think it was a pretty silly assumption.
  21. Text doesn't convey tone but either one of them barking at anyone is inappropriate. I think taking the high road is better overall even if people turn hostile. Me feeling embarrassed and angry that I was ignorant about something is a much more remedial place to be in then being called an idiot and DPS shamed.
  22. You know what helps raids? Making raids. You know what doesn‘t help the game? Making content only exclusively for a small audience. You know what kills MMORPGs? A low playerbase when the game only caters to a small amount of players. It‘s obvious raids aren‘t doing well population wise to further create more raids, when Anet has to create bridging instanced content just to carry raids. I doubt it will work, not even legendary armour was enough of an incentive to get a vast amount of people to play that type of content. That should tell you enough about its‘ popularity.Honestly if it isn't broke don't fix it. The kind of content that I think they excel at is that dynamic PUG events around maps and dungeon 5 person content. Why they went away from that I have no idea. Dungeons and fractals could have been the bread and butter of this game but I guess they wanted to experiment to see if we tap into other markets and/or populations.
  23. I do see some challenge in them. Especially with boneskinner and whisper but to me that is still not a true conveyor belt to raid territory. I wish they'd ASK the community and see if this is working but obviously they probably know by now. I'm not a raider, right? So strikes have had this (anecdotal evidence) effect for me- oh ok, some gear is better when you're a certain role, have many buffs, make sure you do the mechanics on certain bosses....literally the stuff most of us kind of know from common sense. But that still doesn't package me up and queue me up for specific raids. They just seem like separate content. It would be like saying bounties get you ready for strike missions.....eh?
  24. If they remove kps then how would top raiders know how to get a good group?Easy and hardmode scenario would be like the discussions for ez and hard mode for raids who cares. Strikes ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A STEPPING STONE! So pretty much, what I mean is, I don't see why people need to be able to exclude the people who need help and exerience. I think strikes have no valid reason to be in the game if it just becomes another part of the game that excludes people trying to learn. I also don't think it makes sense for people trying to learn to just be a squad of 10 noobs. GIve me a break. If people who do know what to do arent willing to group with the people learning IT WONT WORK AND SHOULD JUST BE DELETED. Bottom line: People who think it should have KP so they can 100% avoid new players should go find a new game. THis is a community game and its more than just getting the most loot in the least time. People who only care about that are in the wrong game anyway, its not like gw2 offers good loot. I mean its more efficient to work and hour and buy gold w gems if you just want loot go get a job.We had someone in game doing low DPS and one person was like WHY ARE YOU DOING SUCH LOW DPS?!?!?!? Active dps shaming is kinda sad. Teaching them (hello mentor tag up) is a much more useful tool. Saying to him "hey its more efficient in the group if you had these certain stats with this certain level of XYZ" and let them know Strikes are not exactly bounties and need more coordination, practice and minimum requirments- which I might add ANET has not told any of these new players that THAT is what is best in this MMO. People literally have to figure it out for themselves and some things get lost in the cracks. I literally had a group of raiders DPS shame me who had no food or utility buffs on. Yup. We all just need to have fun and the "loot" is not worth the elitism or the stress.
