  1. I agree, Vexas Lab is getting old. I vote they add Chalice of Tears JP to the daily. Variety, y'know?
  2. Several times I've been doing a map meta with a full squad and had the map close due to low population. Just had it happen in Skywatch. Popped around to three other zones that were completely empty and no Meta progression. Joined a full squad in LFG and went to their map. Squad was working on the final battle of the Meta, when the "low population transfer to another map for a bonus" message popped up. It only had a few minutes remaining, and the map ended up closing with a full squad of 40+ people about to finish the meta. It took us to a empty map that had already failed the meta. I really think there needs to be a flag to disable closing a map if enough people zone into it to prevent things like this.
  3. Condi D/D Deadeye is by far the most effective open world thief spec for pure soloing. It has a very simple rotation: Deadeye's mark, 3, 3, 3, stealth ability, backstab, repeat. The sustain is very good, and the damage output isn't bad at all for a solo spec. you also get a good bit of boon uptime with constantly triggering Maleficent Seven. http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PawAgiVlZw+YIMJmJeUX3vKA-DyIY1ojvUyJCKLEiLBKsA85YQACXP8aAx0GoC-e I'm not fully celestial with my build, and have viper still in a few armor slots, but even then it's very effective. I've been able to solo champion bounties and T3 rifts with it.
  4. Same. All my shadowstep heals and other traits fire just fine.
  5. I've been able to do every meta on a daily basis. The only one that's even a challenge is Meta 4, and that's due to overtuning issues. There are multiple squads that are full / half full, and full maps for every single EoD zone right now....and it's 11:48 am EST on a Monday. I'm not sure what you really want. There is a 49/50 Echovald meta squad right now. A 32/50 New Kaineng Meta squad rolling (with a full map). There's a Seitung Province meta squad that just opened up like 2 minutes ago and already has 21/50. A 28/50 Pre-meta Dragon's End Squad. Looking through LFG, EoD has more full squads running meta's than any other expansion at this current time, including heart of thorn metas, and it's not even remotely prime time. They already stated the zone instancing was borked, I even made a post about the zones feeling empty before, but it's gotten better. People saying the zones are empty also never took into account that a HUGE portion of the population was going through the story and in instances for the first few weeks.
  6. Yeah and I addressed the Meta 4 issues in my original post, or did you only read what you wanted to rage out about? The Meta is NOT all of EoD. I'm not a fan of the meta either, but it doesn't make the entire expansion bad. And I'm sorry, you saying you have proof based on conversations you see is invalid. Because you consider my personal experience and conversations "not proof". I'm telling you now, myself and others I play the game with are enjoying EoD. People I have interacted with in the game for the most part, are enjoying EoD. Random people I group with, are enjoying EoD. Is EOD perfect? No. Does it have some issues that need fixed? Yes. Does it mean it's a horrible game killing expansion like some of you guys are implying? Absolutely not. Either I've had uncanny luck with only grouping with positive people, or what I said initially is true, and that you loudmouth negative people are just that...loudmouths. I have no issue with people disliking the game, and I'm sure there are folks out there who don't like EOD. Obviously, this thread was made by one. But I do think when those people are stating things that directly contradict what I've seen personally, and are bouncing around the forums spreading this false nightmare narrative, then I should let people know that some of us are seeing a different perspective.
  7. Oh give me a break. I literally posted above that almost everyone I talk to in the game says they're enjoying EoD. I was just in a random fractal with someone who didn't own it, and they asked the group if they should buy it. Literally everyone in the group said "yes it's awesome". I spend 2-3 hours a day in discord with 8-10 guildmates, and I have never heard anyone say they hated EoD. Like I said in my post, some people have random gripes, including myself, but nobody I've talked to hates it. The ONLY time I've seen someone say they actually hate the game are on the forums. I stated from the beginning what I was seeing. If you're seeing differently, then "got proof?". Do you want me to crowd up the forums with random screenshots of people saying they enjoy EoD? What a ridiculous assumption you make.
  8. Is anyone else running into issue with wells not firing off sometimes due to pathing? I can't count how many times I've gotten the "there is no direct path to this location" message due to a slight elevation in the terrain during a fight. When it happens, it throws off my entire rotation, because I have to run around and find the perfect sweet spot to be able to use my abilities. It's especially bad when I'm in heal spec and trying to drop wells on an injured group, since half of our heal ability comes from shadowstepping. I'm not sure if it's just me being bad, or if others are having the same issue.
  9. Then why are you still posting on their forums if you've moved on? The last thing I do when I've quit a game and "moved on" is lurk on their forums and post about how I've moved on. That's like calling an ex every day and saying "by the way just a friendly reminder, I've moved on". EoD hasn't been for everyone, and I've had my share of frustration with some of the changes, but I've never raged out and said I was quitting forever. Sure I took a 3-4 day break after failing the Meta4 for the 24th time, but that's about it, the rest of EoD has been fun. And everyone I've talked to in my guild has liked EoD overall. Sure there are nitpicky gripes, but it's been overall positive. The "Doom and Rage" folks are just the most outspoken, and want you to believe that everyone hates EoD. The big thing is that 90% of the people who actually enjoy EoD are playing the game and not griping on the forums.
  10. I'm quite liking Scepter Dagger with this build for open world stuff. Can work well with Ritualist or Viper (shroud is usually enough survivability). http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PawAsirlhyOYpMWWLO2WXxLA-zRJYyRDFAA-e It has a relatively simple rotation, and works very well in OW group situations as well. Basically: Venom, Wells of Bounty/Sorrow on cooldown 3 until out of initiative, steal, 3 one more time, Shroud In shroud: 4, 2, 3, 2 Leave shroud Repeat Every time you leave shroud, you gain barrier which adds Rot Wallow venom to you and surrounding allies...that is a huge portion of your damage and shouldn't be underestimated. I imagine the rotation will be a little more intense when hammered out for raid stuff, but I can pull around 30k with it on a golem. A lot of folks will also argue for thousand needles vs. Well of Sorrow, but The DPS change doesn't seem too dramatic, plus I enjoy the mobility that well of sorrow can add...plus just personal bias, I haven't ever really been a huge fan of the "prepare and activate" functionality of thousand needles.
  11. I have no problem saying "go away you're creeping me out". If they keep it up, then I report them.
  12. Eh the toxicity level was kinda creeping up before EoD. Some folks are getting very elitist in PUG content. Had a buddy of mine kicked out of an open LFG "easy three" Strikes squad about a month ago because he was asked to link his spec and gear, and was not using full ascended, and a snowcrows meta build. Had never seen that before.
  13. They're gonna let you buy the egg for 200 writs, which I can already afford multiple times over with the repeat failures.
  14. I will say this, after 24 failures, unless they add something fantastic to the loot table, I'll never step foot in Dragon's End again after I buy my egg later this week. Let this meta die like half of the Path of Fire metas. Wasting 2 hours to continuously fail due to RNG is not enjoyable, it's not fun, and it will kill this zone.
  15. I feel like we were lied to about this reduced tail and swap nonsense. We had 6.5 minutes to go after the triple champion kill. She tailed 4 times and swapped 7 times in the last 20% of her health, and we failed due to complete inability to damage her. THis is now the 5th time that she's gone ridiculous in the last 10-20% of her health. 0-24 now. Every time I fail this meta I just log because it's infuriating at this point. Back to Elden Ring...it's less frustrating than this meta..and that's saying a lot.
  16. I actually didn't hate Icebrood Saga. Sure, I'm not a huge fan of Braham or the Char, so didn't get into the story as much as others, but I didn't find MOST of it awful. The only thing I actually genuinely hated was the mandatory 90000 Dragon Response missions you had to run at the end. It just felt horrible and repetitive having to do basically the same exact thing over and over.
  17. I know J activates your Mastery Skill, which I see in hotkeys, but I don't see a way to specify with a hotkey between summoning your Skiff, Fishing, or using the Jade Waypoint. I'm loving fishing, but trying to click that tiny little arrow over and over when I want to summon my skiff gets old. Would be super nice to just have "summon skiff" as it's own key bind option so I can quick summon it then just hit J to fish. Not a huge thing, but would be a nice quality of life change.
  18. I think people understood, they just wanted more people to be able to get into the map so we can actually zerg down this overtuned meta lol.
  19. I do know the scaling is tremendously harsh on these meta events. IE: Jade Maw. But I also noticed on the meta, when the east and west groups splits into the north and south champion kills. There were about 15-20 people at each one except the one I was at. We had 4 people there, and finished twice as fast as the other 3 groups with ~15 people. So scaling could most definitely be an issue. I'm not sure about the final boss, as the maps are always full when we get to it.
  20. Green for almost all events in GW2 don't mean safe. It means "stand in this to do the mechanic of the fight". Technically green is the appropriate color for those circles, it's just that it has a follow up mechanic that folks aren't doing properly.
  21. This meta right now is basically the equivalent of doing South and North drizzlewood, without the participation chests, and then the final boss being almost impossible.
  22. So I'll clarify this to the best of my understanding after 11 failed attempts. (I may be mistaken, this is just from personal experience) The intended mechanic for the event is for everyone to stand in greens. When she slams down, one person in each green circle will be blasted out of their bodies and down to the ground. It will leave a crystal in their place (to protect the raid from the wave). These people should be rushing back to the top with the jump mechanic, ASAP. If you're nearly flawless you can get back up in about 30 seconds. The folks that were not ported down need to kill adds ASAP, primarily the large elites (They have insane CC mortars on the group, so if you're getting knocked down constantly during that phase, they're what is doing it). Most people were just setting portable waypoints and cheesing the wisp mechanic (now removed). When the wisped people get back up to the top, they get a temporary damage buff and the phase progresses. The trouble with this strategy, is there is a 2 minute phase where you cannot damage the boss while the people are coming back up. Optimally this phase ends in 30 seconds or so with everyone being successful. Unfortunately, this mechanic pretty much NEVER succeeds due to 1-2 people not knowing the mechanic, or just not being able to do it properly. Some people are also actively taking greens and trolling the maps. When this happens, that 2 minute phase goes to full completion, wasting 2 minutes of the boss. There are two of these phases, so ~4 total minutes. That is a ton of wasted time on an already extremely tight DPS check event. As an alternative, people have opted to completely avoid greens. When this happens, everyone will be killed during the slam. The upside of this, is people can instantly waypoint and glide back down, beginning the next phase. With the current state of this meta, it's unfortunate that the only two ways to win are to have a pre-made group and try to get any randoms out of the map, or to completely do the opposite of the intended strategy, as attempting the mechanic and having someone fail will pretty much always end in a meta failure.
  23. Looking back, I would have prioritized arborstone had I known what it unlocked. Arborstone is kind of the new Eye of the North, so it unlocks all the merchants and stations there. Maxed unlocks the merchant that allows you to purchase items required for legendaries. There's also an Asura gate there, which will hopefully alleviate some of the ridiculous 8-10 silver costs of waypointing from Cantha back to Tyria.
  24. Honestly, If you haven't played before, play your first character through without boosting. Leveling to 80 isn't super difficult, and you get map progression and hero points. Most importantly, you learn how to play your character. Do your personal story, explore the world, do events. GW2 is a slow burn meant to be enjoyed. Save the level 80 token for your second character you want to try out.
  25. Yes, you lose time if it's ignored. And optimally it's better to successfully do this phase. Unfortunately I have NEVER seen this phase succeed. There is always 1-2 trolls who stand in green and just sit at the bottom of the tower diddling themselves for 2 minutes. No meta should be designed around 1-2 people screwing it up for the whole map, especially when it takes 2 hours of everyone's time.
