  1. I dont fully disagree, with the idea that some boons are passive. But at the same time, the most important boons are applied very deliberately. SYG, book 3 chapter 4/5, bulwark, stab from rev, Aegis (which they did limit pretty hard) etc is probably some of the more important ones. And all of these are meant to either be baited or stripped and after they are gone, apply damage. I really do not know what kind of players are in the forums, it is weird to see this many people wanting boons gone
  2. When I played some of the newer games that failed, like New World, most people in the forums talked exactly about WvW and the cordination in WvW. Never saw a single forum post in those games about the SPvP aspects of Guild Wars 2
  3. At this point I am seriously not sure if you are just dishonest for the sake of "debating", personally not a fan of that. Either way, sure these factors are part of the player vs player, and the boons adds to it. I still do not really understand how you are trying to equate a 1v1 in wvw, when it is rather clearly group content, in other words cordination. As you mentioned, stealth, cc, bait dmg etc.
  4. 1 thing is to want ganking in the game mode, another thing is to be straight up dishonest just to sway others. And even with the "1v1 extremely many boons" instead of GvG or blob vs blob....literally any scenario where the different skills is used together to reach a winning outcome. Even in this scenario: The winner of the 2 players depends entirely on when they use their boons or bait enemy boons.=strategy No boons, and just attack = mindless game mode
  5. Basically this. It is very obvious that by removing boons, this game becomes easy mode, just throw a bunch of damage and GG, since there are no timings for baiting boons nor any timings for stripping and spiking enemies. Every mmo game out there, I have seen, have not had a massive multiplayer that requires as much communication/movement and collective skill as in WvW (I really do not understand why nobody has yoinked this game mode. kitten works), I just do not get why people on the forum, wants WvW just to turn into every single already dead or dying PvP mmo out there, where it is simply a gank war or about ilvl gear. (These games are dying because nobody wants to log in, people have literally no chance because of numbers, rather than skill or lack of people/commanders etc) Not saying this game mode is perfect, and that it at all times will consist of equal 1 to 1 perfect combat, nor that it can not be improved on. But it is still a million times better than a game depending on me grouping 10 people and ganking 1 or 2 players or doing a dungeon 5000 times for a gear piece, that nobody wanted to do. Btw, just in case: I do understand that people play for a variety of different reasons. From PPT/Server community/Guilds vs Guilds/50vs50 etc. But what I just do not get at all, is just pushing for a ganking mentality
  6. I agree that it could be fun with new events, the zombie stuff and maybe even some kind of forced roaming group for a week every year/half year or something. But the whole "wvw still lacks meaning" makes me think you don't really like wvw at all as a big PvP field, and is somewhat trying to fill it with a lot more pve stuff constantly rather than the pve stuff actually being a side thing/once a year stuff? Or maybe im just reading it wrong
  7. wouldnt mag just not be able to do this, if any serrver decides to blob on ebg, instead of smaller skirmishes? o.o
  8. Honestly, I think team deathmatch 5v5 or more would probably solve the entire PvP disparity. I do not know how match making works. But it seems like it calculates for what class you are playing (easiere to get in with a tempest/ele, than a ranger or a necro etc. Or maybe it is the amulet?) and the first 2-3 minutes it looks like it wants you to play vs ideal players/against ideal players, but after that just mixes you with gold/plat etc. Where it genuinely becomes a coinflip, it is rare that when a queue lasts for longer than 3 minutes that I get into fun games, (solo queue) If that is how it works, I do not know how to solve the issue without having people wait for queue for 30m+
  9. Pretty sure like many ganking games out there, where you go 3 vs 1 and claim that is "pvp" . It would already be beyond dead. I do not get why forum people do not understand this simple aspect. There is roaming (solo), there is Ganking (2v1), and there Zerging (Group). Ganking is the one that kills game, because no skill required, and boring to the person being ganked. I like the boonball, it is a unique aspect of Gw2 that requires genuine real quick and cordinated play, that I have not been able to see in any other game. I think it is sad that more marketing regarding that is not seen. And wvw still seems super active almost literally always 8 years into the game, on a massive 3 way battlefield where players are literally the only content? That is pretty wild
  10. 5v5 deathmatch or 15v15 would be great. If I have to be super honest, I do not know how many actually like this conquest mode or if people are just playing it because it is their only option. 2v2 is too small and just ends in necro battle, because of the "imbalance" around such a small party.
  11. Yeaah not gonna lie. SPvP for me personally, is literally the most boring and unfun thing ever in this game (usually around plat 1-2, not super high). 5v5 deathmatch or 10v10 would be fun. The reason it is not fun for me, is the objectives. I really do not know if people actually think SPvP is fun, or are just badge hunting/hot air from the monthly tournament supported on twitch. Might be wrong, maybe people like it, but I really doubt anyone logging in and playing this game mode, find it fun. But combat system, movement and skills are extremely good and unique in this game. Specially compared to any other MMORPG out there (top 30) I have seen
  12. When you finally visit PvP forum just to see what kind of special 5 man setup, to capture a point, people are talking about....And found the usual "I liked the world when I was young, I am old now" vent. Are people in these forums even playing the actual game?
  13. Quick responses since you do not seem to read. -PvP is about points not fighting, I am still plat 1-2 tho...Boring af, extremely far away from the dynamic I am asking for. (People seemed hyped about a possible 10v10 deathmatch though) -People come out 3-4 if you try to fight them, explained what happened when I roamed today -I did not explain this previously, but I do several times solo knock down walls, 10 enemies comes, that part does make sense. It is an entire tower, not just random roaming -Where do you think fights happen, and which server is currently doing so? Obviously the whole roaming thing is over, but what server currently have the fights, that I claim to only happen rarely?
  14. I thought I already explained the first part. But just to expand on what I wrote, in the future New World most likely will become like that, it was not in the beta, and I presume after 6 months it will be close to, if not direcly like Gw2, where it requires insane amount of time, gathering people etc to fight or roaming will contain mainly of 3-4 enemies For the last weird debate comment, people avoid fights because they do not want to die. Been in a looot of servers. People who just defend areas or stuff like that, do not whisper you. Gankers do, a few days ago a thief whispered me because they tried to gank me with a holo and I got them both (honestly just luck). I really do not understand why you suddenly became disingenuous with your comments, not saying this did not happen to you once or years ago....But this rare occurrence is a weird way of trying to say that people do not want to fight because of drama instead of respawn...lol, it is not even like a weird half/secret under the table/inbetween the words kind of deal, people directly states that time and time again 🤣 The weird part is that you are so invested in this comment that you are willing to outright lie, which makes me not want to comment back, because I am not that invested. But at this point you already know what I think about things and seem more keen to debate, so f** it I guess
  15. It is just a weird comment you wrote. And I responded with people are clearly avoiding fights or running only 3-4 together which I explained happens right now in the game. I just met 2 running alone, they tried to run away, then 3 people north camp, 4 people south. I do PvP, I am not super high. Between plat 1-2 on alt atm 2k AP, but capture the point is honestly a boring concept. And every server seem to be like this at the moment, there are people who genuinely want to log in and fight either big fights or small scale or maybe even 1v1, I know that, but it is in between a lot of what I consider boring hide behind walls kind of ideology stuff, or they are not facing the right people, it takes ages to put up. Again I fully understand people whom do not want to die all the time and risk it, and do other stuff. But this is just how I find the game entertaining
  16. Genuinely just jumped into a 3v1 after I died from a 4v1 in hills- And now heading to north camp, not trying to sound "hard" 🤣And never skipped a 1v1 for years I think o.o But you seem to be a thief, so I do understand you commenting on this
  17. I personally might leave for New World and I do consider myself a semi strong player. But that is still only 1 person, do not think that is a representation of semi strong or even hardcore players in Gw2. Even though I personally like that it is that it is a new game where people are more keen to fight, where it does not require a week to set up fights, or people run away, gank fun new mechanics etc. The issue with Gw2 is probably because it is old, so people do not want to log in and just fight randomly. When you blob fight in wvw, you have 1 side giving up after 1-2 fights, switching maps or ppting. So good fights requires ages to set up, and even when that is done, it is rarely equal, someone might be running condi firebrand etc. In roaming, you have to reach all over to the other side to actually fight stuff, where they usually are 5+ and if they ever get to your side of the map, they are most like 4-5 players+. And when you finally find a good player that is not using stealth or running away, that is when you actually have fun. There also seem to be a direction of where people want this game to go But alliances might improve that, seperating gankers, roamers ppters and blob fighters. a bit more to an extend where it might be fun to log in and does not require an entire guild with weeks of setup, and finding new players who can replace people whom can not that day etc. Hard to imagine that they could though
  18. Honestly, it really depends on the server. If you are looking for fights, find a fight server, and usually fights should not quickly be over, that really depends on the players of said server, if all you have is damage scrappers, DH, weavers and maybe a few too many rangers or maybe even condi, then you are obviously lacking cleanse/healing/barrier/stab etc. just in general sustain. Which means capping keeps will be impossible since people are 1 push zerkers. (Either you finish enemy in 1 push, or your people insta drop from the lack of boons/healing). It should be extremely possible to cleanse the condis on you, and in general sustain damage (marauder instead of zerker), which is probably what is lacking if your fights are that quick. Also NA seems a bit weaker than EU these days, But I have not been in many NA server, so that might vary.
  19. 1: Time of dev= 2: Exactly, so people here gives suggestions that would improve the game and A-Net find out if it is worth it, why are you worrying about time it would take to make and money it would take, rather than if the suggestions itself is good or not. Is literally my question? You do not know the "metrics" 2a: I mean at this point xDDDDDDDD Dude ok, literally not genuine. Why would we compare an MMORPG fantasy world where you can buy mounts with another MMORPG fantasy world where their main income is literally buying skins for mounts, imagine right? The business model is so extremely different xDDDD...For real tho, yeah they do have a subscription, but you are kinda extremely reaching here, which puts it at "its weird" again. Because you are pushing more and more to a fully-fledged report at this point, or even further. At the moment you are basically saying: Suddenly another almost literal replica of what would be implemented in the game on an MMORPG is not enough, and then the activities in said game and game mode (WvW) is not enough because it is not a 1:1 copy of Guild Wars 2 implrementing a mount you can join and how that would affect the income.....I mean comon dude, wttf xD But to be fair, the question to begin with is pretty none genuine, so it is hard to turn it to become genuine. I just think people should chill with the whole "but the time of devs and money" answer. I am probably not going to respond, forum discussion got a bit weirder, but you are literally writing that A-nEt should consider if it is worth it, then my question would be, why would you care when you do not have the metrics of cost? (you can also none-genuinely respond since im prob. not responding and all that, just write somewhere in the text why "time/money" is a response to a suggestion if you like the suggestion, or do not think it is bad in anyway and do not have the metrics as how much time or money it would take, and most likely know almost nobody playing/writing these sugguestions does/should have?)
  20. I do not think you fully understand. 1: Why is "time" the response to a sugguestion, when you have no idea what cost/time would be in the first place? Why not just respond with the genuine problem you have with this sugguestion. If you have one? But the "time" response just seems weird. 2: I already responded (I still think the overall question is weird......but) do you want a fully-fledged report or just a "look at WoW, with their double carry mounts and how many people jumped on that"....
  21. Money? More skins, more people active, an easy way to give people a goal to progress towards. That is kinda why I find discussion weird "how much time does it take" as a point of why it should not happen. Like 99% of every comment is like that. At the end of the day the company got to make that decision, also calculate how long it would take, how many people would be needed on it, and what team(s) would be on it. You actually have to filter every single one of the "but tiiime" comment out to actually read anything worth as an actual response. I mean if there is something actually wrong with it, then respond with that or if it would clearly take a massive amount of time, like: "Just make a new map" obviously "time" could be a response...but responding time on this and every other sugguestion? And regarding data to support the answer. You can look at even the tiniest stuff that comes to WvW, which clearly increases the population, which would make me suspect also playtime. Or is it more like: "reports on previous updates to wvw, and how it improved overall income/time?" kind of stuff you are looking for?
  22. When you jump into discussion forum once, and suddenly remember how weird some of the responses are 🤣 I really do not know the chained arguements that makes people not want to do this. But the actual mount could work as a some sort of shared mount, could be helpful for new players who got their friends in the game
