  1. I would love if the Skyscale's Fireball skill could be re-bound in options. I use the number 2 skill for Griffon Dive at the moment, so fireball isn't useable for me without either clicking it or remapping dive to something else. it'd be awesome to be able to bind it separately eventually, so I can find another comfortable key to use for it! ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. Thank you for all your hard work on such a cool expansion (and on getting these fixes out so quickly too!) Been having an absolute blast with SotO so far ๐Ÿ˜„The new maps are gorgeous and I'm enjoying the new characters and events a lot (also lore! So much lore to dig into! โค๏ธ) So glad to hear that it's been popular so far, it deserves to be!
  3. It would be amazing to see the Skyscale Ascension Mounts Pack back sometime if possible! ๐Ÿ˜„The new lucent griffon skin reminded me that the last bioluminescent skin I need is that Skyscale one and I would love to get my look completed for SotO! โค๏ธ
  4. I got the first two today, No More Tricks took a few attempts because it's hard to tell if you're still eligible or not. The easiest way to tell if you've been hit is to make a new tab in your chat and untick everything but combat > incoming damage. The attacks to avoid are "Prime Light Beam" from the large hologram and "Ultraviolet Light Beam" from the Microprime ones. A little easier that way, as you can just restart straight away if you see you've been hit, rather than waiting until the end of the fight to see if you made it or not. I've also been having issues with Tower Purifier 2 not counting though.
  5. Heya, I don't know if you've found a group to run with yet, but if you are on EU, this discord community runs it daily and also has resources for other runs that are organized on EU ๐Ÿ™‚ They've got guides and a bunch of other useful stuff too, every run I've done with them has been really great! http://discord.gg/6YG5CC6
  6. I've been having this with the Oceanic Noble skin too ๐Ÿ™ It's such a shame because the skin is gorgeous and I want to use it regularly, but the loading issue is such an annoyance. It's the only mount skin I own that this happens on. Even very detailed skins like the Shimmerwing load instantly (or load with the default skin and then transition to the actual skin) rather than getting me stuck while it loads in.
  7. EoD for me, the presentation, polish and storytelling just felt like a huge step up for me and I love all the new zones, especially Seitung! โค๏ธ Really loved the fights in the story and I've been enjoying the heck out of the EoD strikes. It has great Meta events and atmosphere too, especially in Kaineng and Dragon's End. The soundtrack too! and the final fight! The last few EoD story steps had me in tears so hard I couldn't breathe, so that's a win in my eyes haha ๐Ÿ˜„ HoT and PoF I can't decide between at all. HoT felt very overwhelming to me at launch and didn't click with me for a few months. Once I got into it though, I loved it. Nothing felt quite like leaping off the overlook in Verdant Brink for the first time after unlocking gliding and seeing the sheer verticality of the jungle! It also has a fantastic soundtrack and I'm regularly back there for the meta events. They captured the claustrophobic jungle feel so well, the maps are all brilliant! PoF clicked with me much sooner, probably because I was familiar with the mastery system by then. The transition through the mount masteries felt so smooth and amazing to work through, it really felt like you were levelling up in a substantial way and I loved the level design and how the terrain naturally unlocked more as you progressed (like being able to get onto ledges in the water once you had skimmer hover, or being able to jump across longer ledges with raptor canyon jumping) very much the joy of movement! Griffon is incredible and I love it so much, so that gets a point on it's own! and the boss fights were also fantastic. Meta events weren't as interesting to me in these maps so I unfortunately don't return there too often. So for me: 1. EoD 2. HoT & PoF because I absolutely can't decide between them, GW2 has knocked it out the park with all its expansions imo ๐Ÿ˜„ If we were to go for all content I'd say: 1. EoD & LWS4 2. HoT & PoF 3. LWS3 4. Icebrood Saga 5. LWS1 6. LWS2
  8. Introduction Established in early 2020, Ghost Riders of Tyria is a dedicated PvE guild comprised of both new and veteran players! We are a mid-sized family-feel guild with active members that enjoy a variety of content, ranging from world bosses and open world meta events to instanced content like fractals, strikes, and raids. The idea of [HOME] is to have a friendly and non-elitist space where players can come together, learn and enjoy the game while having others to play with in a welcoming environment. We have no representation, experience, or hour-based requirements, all we ask is that players are helpful, friendly, and respectful to each other. Our Rules and Values - Guild Members should strive to create a friendly and encouraging atmosphere where players of all experience levels and walks of life can feel welcome and supported. We all were newbies in this game once, so try to be helpful to new players so they can find their place and feel at home. - Treat people the same way you would like to be treated, do not trivialise their problems, and avoid excessive swearing. - [HOME] is a safe space and we want our members to feel supported. Do not judge other people's questions, style of play, style of writing (grammar, spelling, etc), eating habits, or other lifestyles. - We are an LGBTQIA+ friendly guild. Discrimination based on sexuality, gender, race, and any insulting behaviour, in general, is not tolerated. (Occasional teasing or throwing shade is okay but we encourage using common sense. Think about how your words can be perceived by the person on the receiving end. We are an international guild so misunderstandings can happen.) - You will never be judged in any way so feel free to ask questions in guild chat or discord. We also have a @Question role on discord that will ping members happy to answer questions! - Avoid spoilers in-game. Mark any messages containing spoilers on Discord and use the Spoilertalk channel where possible. The Ghost Council [HOME] doesnโ€™t have a leader, but is instead run by its members in a system we call โ€˜The Ghost Council.โ€™ The Ghost Council is a rotating group of 5 Members that take care of [HOME] behind the scenes. These members sign up for an 8-week term and take care of the tasks that you would typically expect of a Guild Leader. We are a very community-focused guild so the council was decided on as an alternative system to allow all members to have a say in leading, running, and deciding on the direction of the guild. It has allowed us to keep the guild feeling fresh and opened up opportunities to run many fun and unique events for our members over the past 2 years! At least one of the seven โ€˜Foundingโ€™ members of the guild will be in the role at all times to ensure that [HOME] doesnโ€™t stray from its founding principles of being a warm and welcoming space. These members also help to advise and guide guild members that are new to the role! Any member of [HOME] is welcome to volunteer for a term on the council regardless of their rank or length of time in the guild. More information about our guild leadership system can be found on our FAQ page here! What can we offer you? - An active and helpful guild where you can feel at [HOME] - A mid-week event to look forward to every week! (These can range from a meta event run to HP or world-boss trains to bounties, fashion contests, and anything in between!) - Guild missions every Sunday at 19:45 CEST/18:45 BST - An active discord server with roles and channels for easy LFG-ing! - A fully upgraded guild hall on the beautiful Isle of Reflection๐ŸŒธ - Regular grouping for fractals and strike missions. - Semi-regular raid training and dungeon runs. - Knowledgeable guild members that are happy to give advice on builds, gearing, and endgame PvE to those who want it and veteran players that are happy to answer questions from members taking their first few steps into Tyria! ๐Ÿ™‚ - Occasional special guild events like anniversary and seasonal parties, pub quizzes, contests, fashion shows, or more! You can check out our Google Photo album for guild event screenshots here!๐Ÿ˜„ How to apply Applications are handled through our website https://ghostridersoftyria.com/. Our application form can be found here. Once you have submitted the form the Ghost Council will be notified and a member will reach out in-game as soon as possible for a quick chat! If you are looking for a non-elitist, chill, and fun environment to enjoy the game why not - Apply Now
  9. The EoD strikes are fantastic tbh! I'd say they're much more memorable than most of the IBS ones, even though EoD wasn't the expansion to introduce the format. I think it is definitely Fishing and Skiffs though! I do love the turtle, especially for taxi'ing new guildies to missions and stuff, but it's not something I'm using every day. While I haven't deep-delved into Fishing myself yet, it is SO nice to go to any open world map and just see people out on the waters on their skiffs or see fishing parties on the LFG. I think it's made the open world more social and I love their implementation of it- that it involves a fun little mini game and has mechanics with the food, day/night etc. It's great that it was brought into all of the maps like gliding and mounts were and wasn't just an EoD only feature. I'm map completing core Tyria on an alt right now and seeing so many people out on their skiffs, or posting in map chat about fishing parties and stuff is lovely, I think if I was a new player running through the game now, it'd make me really excited to get to EoD and be able to join in with all that ๐Ÿ™‚A nice first impression of the community too. Also of the small amount of fishing I have done- I find it really wholesome how courteous people are with their boat parking haha xD Whenever I go do the fishing daily and there's multiple people around a fishing hole, people will go out of their way to park their boat so it's not colliding with yours when you're anchored around a hole, even though the boats don't have collision if you're not in a party and you could fish through them if you have to, haha.
  10. Runescape was the only other MMO I'd played before I preordered GW2 on a whim in 2012 ๐Ÿ˜„ I'd played some other multiplayer sandbox-y social games before then ('Impressive Title' kind of games that were super popular in 2008, haha) and things like Neopets/Habbo/Club Penguin, though I'm not sure they'd count as typical MMORPG's. I have tried a lot of MMO's mentioned in this thread now, only afterwards! I picked up Guild Wars 1 in 2014 because I wanted to know more of the lore. I also tried out WoW, Neverwinter and ESO at some point too. Got super hooked on a reallyyyy obscure MMO called Otherland Next last year, which got sunset recently, it was a really buggy sci-fi MMO based on the novels by Tad Williams. A very unusual, visually striking and interesting game! About a year ago I took my first steps into Everquest 2, which is the only MMO other than GW2 that's made me want to keep coming back to it, it's definitely my second favourite now, though I only log in occasionally for the live or seasonal events atm. I definitely feel like its slept on and would have loved to have seen it back when it launched ๐Ÿ™‚
  11. Heya! I have two mesmers, one at the goggles and one at the puzzle chest and would be happy to help! ๐Ÿ™‚ Unfortunately I don't know how to get down from the goggles safely enough to port them without dying haha ๐Ÿ˜… But if you have any Teleport to Friends feel free to add me and shoot me a message and I can log onto that character so you can port to me! I can port the JP chest on my other character though, if the JP achieve is also needed! I'll be around quite a bit this weekend and I'm usually on most evenings from 10 or 11pm BST onwards, so if you spot me online, shoot me a message if you'd like!
  12. The wiki didn't lie, they do drop from the caches it's just a very low drop rate. I think I've dropped 3 from caches ever and I run Chak a lot. They also have a low drop rate from Zinn's supplies in Rata Novus, or if you're really that sick of PVE you can get them from the Tangled Depths Reward Track in PVP and WvW too (it's the 15th reward on both of them, so you could get 1/3rd into both tracks and get two eggs that way) Though, honestly, if you are as angry as you sound about this and you've still got that many Spirit Shards to go, I'd just stop and take a look at where you're at with it now, stop and go play the game the way you enjoy for a little bit. You'd get the shards as part of that whenever you level up and just drop into Chak occasionally when you see it's up instead of forcing yourself into a routine with it daily when you don't enjoy that. That way you'd casually get it done in a month or two, because clearly you're not enjoying the game the way you are forcing yourself to play it atm. No gear grind means Legendary Armor is there forever, you're not just suddenly gonna have to do this grind again in 2 years time, so might as well do it in 60 days instead of 10 days if it means you don't full on hate the game in the process, just an idea.
  13. If you are on EU, someone is running one this weekend at 12pm CEST on Saturday. But yeah, as others have said, if you just check Verdant Brink and Crystal Oasis in the LFG panel occasionally while playing, you'll usually find one ๐Ÿ™‚ People run them pretty often, especially right now because people want to get their EoD specs trained. Most of EoD's ones are commune HP's too, so if you did want to do it solo, defeating the mob guarding them is a lot easier than most of the HoT ones, which are better done in groups.
  14. When you come in, if you jump off the left side of the bridge and run up the stairs towards where the mining nodes are, the flax is in a little fenced off garden/grassy area with some NPC's in just above and to the right of them ๐Ÿ™‚
  15. It's not so much about that, it's about playing different types of content with different people. The people in the griffon flying guild I'm in are mostly not the same at all people as those in the raiding guild I'm in xD None of the guilds I'm in have met the cap. The smallest guild I'm in has 8 members, the biggest is a griffon flying guild that has just over 300 members. My main guild, we cap at 200 members and clear the roster at 1 month+ offline with the invitation to rejoin once they are back to playing- so all current members are active, we want to stay a smaller guild so people can get to know each other easier. If we got more guild slots eventually, I'd join a Fishing Guild, the Wiki guild and the WvW guild with the commanders I run with on my current server ready for Alliances. Communities form in GW2 over all sorts of things. One of my favourite guilds I was in years ago was a guild called '[SFN] Sparkfly Fen by Night' that formed exclusively to run Tequatl Rising and Karka Queen with each other every single night, back when the boss was very challenging. It was great, that's all the guild was for. No guild missions or anything else, but we ran together daily for a few years, would chat and have a laugh while we waited for Teq and I made some great friends because of it! I totally agree that most players won't need more than 5 guilds, but for those of us that are active in lots of different game modes and communities within the game, it would be a huge positive not to have to pick and choose between the guilds we're in that serve different purposes/game modes/parts of the community ๐Ÿ™‚
