  1. yes, they could make the very first big encounter more interesting than just spamming 1. Otherwise they need to do something to the leveling experience, especially from around 15 to 40 it's very bad for new players. You can only do map hearts and map event (and pvp) and the gap between real story quests is huge. A lot of new players get bored here, because they got not teasing of what the game will actually deliver later on. So should be more teasing for new players and i think there should be more possible group play accessible earlier on.Here are some concrete suggestions: a new dungeon from lvl 15 or 20making stuff like DRMs or some T1-fractals accessible way earlier from any main capital (and scalable)a new quest line that will fly you around the world to beautiful and interesting lands to tease you the beauty of the world and lore (could happen between personal story chapters on lvls 15, 25, 35,..)
  2. The DRM concept is alright gameplay wise. They should be implemented as an alternative (group) content for all players, ideally scaling from lvl 20 on (scaling) for leveling new players (so there are more gameplay experiences possible for new (steam) players than just doing map hearts). DRMs should not be hidden in a late game only hub. Bring them accessible from the main capitals somehow (Lion's Arch comes too late for new f2p/tryout players) But as a story chapter, hidden deep in the late game, they are just underwhelming and disappointing if they are the only thing we get.
  3. I agree the timer on Snowden Drifts DRM is a little bit to low. It's ok that it's a hard fight with lot of stuff going on and you have to evade a lot. But there are some aspects a little bit over the top: bugged emp-grenade buffing the bossHaving to speed up the escort npc talking breaks in the middle of the fight where the timer goes onlosing so much time whilest npc runs the longest possible way and leashing forth and back after fightsHaving the need for a very tight scheme of certain roles in the group (people start searching for 250li which is not healthy for the game outside raids)The adds in the fight are too spread out and have some not thought-out mechanics ( one yeets you into the roof which resets you to the entrance, other one can jump into the unaccessible zone)So in the end im fine with hard challenges as a skill test, but there is too much clutter and wonkiness around there which could need some more polish
  4. Yes, we can at least expect Primordus to show up accompanied by some earthshattering at the end of the episode. Then let's see wether dragons will die, will be contained for a while or will freely spread terror whilest we head for Cantha. As far as we know there will be just 3 more DRMs (Caledon Forest, Bloodtide Coast, Fireheart Rise), so each dragon got 5.I'd expect those 3 DRMs to come in part 3/4 of "Champions", so part 4/4 could be a more story heavier chapter.
  5. To be honest, im not expecting much in this last 2/4 of a chapter.Hopefully they wont kill off an elder dragon in an DRM or even off screen. So here is my guess:With the help of the spirits led by Braham, Aurene sacrifices herself as a big prism and gets into stasis to maintain eternal balance between Jormag und Primordus, effectively taking 3 elder dragons off the board. The last remaining elder dragon will come up for Cantha / End of Dragons expansion. Aurene will only be able to help us through telepathy. :#
  6. That's....terrible. I hope the writers and Anet aren't so incompetent as to kill off Aurene (AGAIN) after years of setting her up as a Allied Elder Dragon. Not killing her, just sealing her somewhere, like in a statue or sanctum, where she cant act actively anymore because she has to focus maintaining the balance. Maybe she could still guide players through telepathy. - Actually it's not much different compared to her current behaviour ... imho she could just be too mighty in her current state if she would be an active force in the future. Even more so if she would absorb Jormag's and/or Primordus' power. Sealing her away would bring her off the board in an elegant way, so we have to face future threads without her active help. But i agree, they are dropping a lot of hints towards the spirits of the wild. They will have an important role for sure. Let's see what the next episode-parts will bring, but im sceptical if there is enough room for epic story telling within 2/4 of an episode.Hopefully they don't kill an elder dragon in a DRM or offscreen .
  7. I think when the war between Primordus and Jormag escalates even more, Aurene might sacrifice herself for maintaining balance between the forces, effectively taking 3 dragons off the board. - Remaining Deep Sea Dragon will lead us to Cantha.
  8. I hope that ANet knows by now ... though, this would explain a lot.. :#
  9. As a story-player i liked how IBS started, but am currently really disappointed. So much tension was build up in the first episodes on beautiful maps with great story telling, and now instead of the story taking off, It feels really rushed, scrapped down and trashed. You cant deliver an epic story through 3 small text boxes per mission. It feels like everything is happening off-screen instead that we are part of the story, like we been before in other seasons. This is like the opposite of what i liked Guildwars for in all other seasons, so now with just 2/4 of "champions" remaining i cant imagine an intersting, epic conclusion. Talking about the DRMs in general: The idea is alright. Should be implemented as alternative group content for all players (ideally scaling from lvl 20 on for leveling new players). - They should not be hidden in a late game only hub. Bring them accessible from the main capitals. - And last but not least: They should not be used as the main late game story experience.
  10. The principle of DRMs would be actually great, if they were just a new form of group content, that ideally should be available for all players early from around lvl 20 (scaling), as an alternative for leveling instead of map hears. But as a story chapter, hidden deep in the late game, they are just underwhelming and disappointing. Icebrood Saga started really strong in building up story. First a prologue, then a horror-chapter for creating suspense, etc .. but when the story starts taking off, suddenly everything is scrapped down and all we got is short texts in a DRM, with most happening offscreen. sad :(
  11. I could see (something like) DRMs shine if they would be way more accessible for all players. Imho they should be an alternative group content scaling for all players available from lvl 20 and accessible from all main cities. Currently they are hidden at an endgame story hub only
