  1. What is happens on sPvP? Some of you have been with them, have seem them but don't know why they don't dissappear. They are more common them before, and now with the beta test they are increasing, they even talk and jump like humans. If you dont know what is the truth? why this is called Heart of The Matrix aka Heart of The Mist? See this video below: After the event of the Heart Of The Thorn the king of Bots called Botzhar start his war against us. Advices to start walking the path: "Hide yourself " Most of top leaderboard are minions of Bothzar. Sorry I Have to go!
  2. That what I'm talking about. When you play for your team, that is a high % that you gonna win a match. I play as Warrior and sometimes my teamates think that a I'm a hero, they expect my build to be good on: side nodes, teamfight, 1v1, good sustain, good support, good dmg. I have do decap,recap.... its impossible. You will always have a counterpick that will denied you or somebody on your team. That why we have 1:30 to mount up your build. But again, my teamates run the META build that they saw on a video which bring the famous guy to a legendary rank, which everyone may know. Them they are hard countered and I can do nothing. Because I'm not a hero and I won't be that either way. Imagine yourself, play 200 - 300 game with the same build, the most common that I see, DH trapper, burn Guardian, and many other. One time a DH trapp was trying to kill me he was seting up every thing to pull me, I was using Berserk Rifle, I just enter up in Berserk Mode with SoF and kept hitting him with Volley and other skill, he was receiving 2k-3k on every hit, and he tried to go invi(trap rune) and cast something, them he received a gun flame(burst skill) 8k-10k of dmg. And in less them 10s he was already dead, and completely denied. Why this happens? I know the guy he just play this build ¬¬.
  3. sPvP is heavily oriented on your team. You can't think that a match were teamfights is decisive that a 1v1 will define everything on the game. Even that you lost a 1v1 against your opponent/profession, if the opponent team wipe easily on a teamfight against your team . No matter how many 1v1 you lost against this opponent/proffession, your team will win the game.
  4. I think what they did was separe the offensive weapons from defensive weapons. Axe and Greatsword are offensive weapon of strike dmg Mace and Hammer are CC weapons that can do a viable damage but isn't it purpose do dmg. Rifle are Strike dmg. Longbow are Condi dmg. Sword are Condi dmg. Warhorns and Shield are more defensive and brings boons. Daggers are strike dmg. You still can hold a point on sPvP, for me you have to accept to remove the Greatsword of your build and play with other weapons and builds, try it out and you gonna find a lot of viables build there. I was testing hard how to put the trait "Vengenful Return" on my build, how this could be useful, and after many months/weeks of theorycrafting I found how to use it, and is working so well that I barely die on the game. Yesterday I played a game against a Warrior that was using Sword/Warhorn and Longbow. I don't know what was in his mind, but his burning condition was doing 82dmg on me.... probably he focused "power/healing" on the build and the result was: the entire game he was doing nothing, probably supporting his team, but doesn't matter, was a terrible build. People still hold this on his mind that longbow is better option than a rifle for strike damage and I still see this aberrations on the game, they try to shot with a bow even using a condi skill, which they don't have condi dmg and even expertise for it, so doing nothing them lost like 3 skill buttons on his bar. I understand you when you said about the ratio got nerfed, but when you put berserker on the table, you gonna see that the dmg was throw to this specailization everything that core war lost was throw on berserker. The burst of Greatsword,Hammer,Mace, Sword,Longbow,Axe is all increased on this spec and all burst do strike dmg and condi dmg. People complain to much because the nerf affected SB, which is the spec that people most play and is consiedered the best 1v1 spec. That why you see the outcry here. In another match I was solely holding 2 SB, one that was GS/Dg*Dg and other that was GS/DG*Warhorn. Just because I change my build to be Toughness based, so its damages was doing nothing to me, they were losing time with me, I couldn't kill them and they could not kill me too easily. I still believe that a better opponent would kill me, but not as easy as they think. Scourge are the most strong to hold a point, as minio necros.
  5. The problem is that when they are a bad bot hahaha. I take notice almost of a lot of bots. They have high game number, same build, same behaviour/walkingpath. Don't talk and the most terrible one when they appear on your team 😭.
  6. Don't need to be Plat, Legendary or gold for me. I appreciate your feedback and your information regardless your skill. Because the game has problems with wintrading, bots and afk that can ruin your gameplays on ranked. About the counterpick is a reality, its kind of skill for me. But the problem as your talked is that you cant outplay it and on that point you are correctly if you can't outplay it without another couterpick isn't a skillful game. A lot of my game there is people who just play with one build, mostly the meta build. One that I dislike the most is the burn guardian, I can win some of the duel against them, but is hard and I don't like to play one build just to counter one enemy. I hope that my teamates adjust their build to their opponents but they just play the same build everyday.... Don't be bothered by the people who don't read your post because was not correctly formated. Another thing, number of post don't say nothing to me. That is alot of veteran on the game that don't use the forum πŸ˜‰. Feel free to express your opnion.
  7. I agree with you, I still do everything that I did on the past: CC + DMG, I still control the battlefield. Bring Banner to ress, to down a foe. I even have a build that is specialized on denie my opponents and has a medium dmg, because when you are CCing and controlling the battlefield you can't focus just in one enemy, you have to interrupt, stun, knockback many opponents and after it you can start dmg them. Even my rifles does dmg. Each specialization has a purporse and is upon you to decide how to use it. As sPvP is about teamwork, if you lost is not because you aren't using the meta correctly is because your team fail or your enemy strategy prevail upon yours. WvW is a different system, but isn't a huge difference.
  8. Any condi build will solve the problem. Could be Condi Core or Condi Zerker. The last is more aggressive. You could indeed open a spot to 'On my mark' to make the things more dangerous. The longbow is a 'most have' on those 2 builds. On your fourth shot you will be hit him very very hard.
  9. About the second Build, if you are with Warhorns, you can remove the Warrior Sprints trait, and chose between Crack Shot or Vengenful Return. And if you are going Ranger DMG with power choose Rifle instead of Longbow. About the armor I think Marauder is good one to begin. Until you learn how position, attack, defend, disengange, engage and them you can go for a more toughness armor.
  10. Condi Zerker are a mix of Burning and Bleeding, stack those 2 and you will have a good dmg. Rifles are the one that I'm still studying. For Zerker they are good for singles targets, but for core I'm still taking notes.
  11. For WvW I would say that Rampage is better, Training how to ress yourself with banner is good try. I personally don't do this all the time because I can't guarantee that I will kill my opponents. But if help is coming I will use it to ress myself. About SoR, is a burst dmg increase and by this should be used with a range weapon, the benefits of gaining adrenaline as passive is good the problem is the time of the boons.
  12. @Hotride.2187 updating this information. I added how to approach your enemy with this build, and I will put a little more builds to show how can you overcome other problems. As I said don't think of me as new one here. I have a long history playing this class here and other places πŸ˜‰.
  13. Probably, but you can take look on your latency(ms). Races don't interferer too much I think.
  14. Hi, I'm a veteran Warrior and a veteran player in GW. For a while I have been take looks on the forums, most on PvP and Warrior professions session and for the most parts of it I have seen the discontentment of most players here on the forum about how Warrior is underperforming on WvW,PvP and sometimes in fractals and Raids. I have read the omnimbus thread and other topics about some changes that Arena Net should make to ensure a better performance to Warrior class. I know that everyone here most have Warrior as main or secondary class. But some suggestions and changes are really out of understand and how to play your class. I will not say that 'I'm the master and a professional player'. But many requirements made here are out of cohesion. So I decide to make a topic/thread to help the new ones and the other veterans to how have a better approach to your class. First I will talk about what Warrior is and what means playing with Warrior profession. As described on the GW2 wiki: Warrior "Warriors are masters of physical combat skills. They're versatile in combat and benefit from offensive and defensive abilities. Warriors inspire allies and demoralize enemies. Like other soldier professions, warriors wear heavy armor." Here are the concept of the Warrior, the entire concept of this professions is described is this simple text above. If we extend this concepts to our reality, Warrior is not similar to Soldiers and not every Soldier is a Warrior, but a Warrior can be a Soldier. Kind crazy? Warriors can be described in many historic event along our history, Greek, Romans, Vikings, Mongols, Persians, China, Japans, Native Americans, African Warriors and many other nations that has their concepts of a Warrior and why I'm talking about it? Because this concepts is that what we expected to see on the game. Warriors are master of Physical combat skills, but there are more on it. Warriors are master of War. Is not the Guardian, Mesmer, Necro or any otherclass. Warrior are the embodiement of General, a Commander, so to that it required that every Warrior has a strategic mind. How to conquer your enemy ? How engage and disengage? Which Weapon brings to a battle? That is the things that you most have in your mind when you are playing with this profession. Of course you can do that to any other class, but here I'm talking about what is the job of a Warrior and how to play it. Following the GW2 wiki has this information about the warrior: "Warriors are masters of weaponry who rely on speed, strength, toughness, and heavy armor to survive in battle. Adrenaline fuels their offensive powerβ€”the longer warriors stay in a fight, the more dangerous they become." The last part is the most interesting, most people now make fun of it. But is the truth if you know how to play a Warrior class, the longer Warrior stay in a fight more dangerous we are. Why? As for any other class, you are controlling the situation and the battlefield, as I said warrior are a master of War. You can do this with any other class too, but i will repeat it again I'm talking about "Warrior". Now that is clear what is to means a Warrior. Lets go to next thing. Understand your Weapons, for a Warrior if you don't know your weapon, what you have in your hand, you may gonna die with it and with your only faults. I have a real respect for the good ones warriors here and the other that make videos about their challenges and overcomers playing with Warriors profession, they are really good with it and has a good skills playing with Warrior. But for everyone here, don't subestimate your capacity to be better than a famous youtube guy or famous Warrior Player. Just take patience read your traits weapons and continue praticing it. Coming back to the weapon I will start with the most Iconic weapon of Warrior: Main Hand Sword : Sword on GW2 for the warrior profession is design to be a condi based dmg. How you know that? The first Auto-attack skill apply bleed on every hit, the Second Skill is a movement skill that apply slow and third one is a mix of strike dmg and if the foes is below of 50% has doubles the strike dmg and apply 6 stack of bleed. Off Hand Sword: The fourth Skill you throw the sword applying more condi dmg and slow on the enemy, and you can do more dmg again with a stab, the fifht skill is parry/block skill that if the enemy is in close combat you can apply condi dmg again. Just by that you can see that the sword is heavy condi dmg based. If you are push a power build equipments you are really going against the entire design of the weapon, you gonna do a high dmg strike but you are breaking down you condi dmg and by that destroying your own weapon and strategy. Main Hand Mace: Mace are the weapon of choice if you want to break down your opponent endurance and apply dazes and stun. As the weapon suggest its more heavy and their animation show a more slow way of attack. Off Hand Mace: Here you can apply vunerability if the target is downed by stun and other cc, and you can apply another stun in the enemy in front of you. Main Hand Axe: This weapon is fully focused in pure raw power dmg , most of this skill don't apply any conditions but give you a little boons, and the third skill apply a slow that you can throw on your enemy. Off Hand Axe: As part of the Axe its does more dmg, with the last skill you can move with more speed doing dmg with your weapon. Greatsword: Most of the Players just play with this weapon its has the biggest dmg and is like the axe pure raw power dmg . Has charge and slow skills that complements it and is huge bonus bring more movement to the warrior. Hammer: This weapon is the most increadible weapon to control the battle, a lot of cc,slow and interrupts. And 2 or 3 skill that can do high dmg if applied correctly, but it does less dmg than the greatsword. LongBow: This weapon is heavily condi based, the auto-attack just do strike dmg, and the other skills does burning, bleed, blind, slow and can lock the enemy in a place. Rifle: This weapon is pure raw power dmg has some condition as slow and can lock enemy. Torch: A condi based weapon available to Berserk Elite Specialization, has slow and burning condi dmg Main hand Dagger: Pure raw power dmg that remove boons and dazes the enemy. Off hand Dagger: Pure raw power dmg and aoe dmg Warhorns: This is kind of boon weapon and remove conditions, the charge skill release you and your allies from any impariment condition, give them speed and a 10% bonus of dmg. I consider this weapon a good choice. Normally I respect warriors who know how to use this in combat. As I described very briefly each weapon, we can now go to the traits. We have at least 7 specialization which 2 are Elite: Berserk and SpellBreakers. I will not cover everything with minimum detail but by what I described here you can clearly see what mistake many people are doing with your profession. First I like to note that has good warrior around there but has terrible warrios that mix their specialitzations with wrong equipments and otherthings. I will focus on PvP and if its allowed to edit the topic i will post more for other contents. Let begins with: Arms: This Specialization is totally focused in burst your CONDI DMG, if you are putting this trait just to increase your 100% critical chance on burst skill you are clearly underperfoming your profession, and priorizing your burst skill which probably has a huge chance of your enemy just evading it, block or use a skill to become invunerable it's not a good way of playing with it. Discipline: This Specialization its 'a most have for PvP' and that what people says, because you need 'warrior sprint' and 'reduced cds for weapons changes'. This correctly and great but as I said on the begining of this topic: "its you who decided which strategy to bring to the battle and which weapon'. Are you gonna change a lot of the weapons? Are you just using a weapon more than the other? It's your secondary weapon a defensive or offensive weapon? Are you full ofensive build? How you gonna survive and get sustain if you get bursted? Have you have ways to disengage? Strength: As this specializations suggests it bring you more strenght to most important weapons that use Two hand: Hammer and Greatsword, but not just that its descrease the movements skills cds and bring a lot of dmg increasing. Tactics: This specialization is focused on burst your Shouts and banner, bringing boons and benefits to your partners a excelent choice if you bring down your selfish way of playing, and add more boons to your team and regenerations. Defensve: this specialization is focused on shield, mace and toughness, bringing regeneration and 2 trait that have been nerfed Defy Pain and Last Stand, which for my understand its very OP traits. But 5min of CD is very high, but plausive. That its called core Warrior. You can only choose 3 of it and has to mount up your build as with the amulet and rune to go to a pvp. Looking it you can see which one are Condi Based, Pure Raw Power, Sustains and Defensive one. Adding the Elite Specialization: Berserk: This Specialization has a mix of Condi and Pure Raw Power as other traits that you have to decide to bring or not to a fight. Spellbreaker: This Specialization is very focused on Raw Power that benefits from stuns, dazes, taunt and other cc skills.Has more sustain than Berserk specialization. I won't get in all details here. But I had take looks on some builds in the topics here and what I can say to you guys: "If you are playing full offensive you are heading for defeat, its a 50% of Win and 50% of Defeat against your opponent, because him can also goes full ofensive, who first burst the combo better will win, and here are we won't seem any skill, just who has less ms(latency) and evade correctly, I consider this a lucky evade or blocks." "Playing full offensive with 18K of Health pool? You gonna kill a lot of people of course, but take note that a well experienced opponent gonna take you down fast too" Warrior has the biggest Health Pool, and you should take note of it and use it for your benefit, as long you stay on the battle the better will be. Keeping running out of the combat by being bursted or applied a incorrectly combo is just loosing time and probably gonna bring your death. Spellbreaker has the biggest mobility which is good but look how many times they get out of combat and maybe cant sustain itself in a heavy ground battle. "Playing full meele, you need to know when playing this way. As enemy can reset the battle by getting out of your range and don't have a range weapon is just increasing it, you can say to me that nothing can run out of a spellbreaker, but I will say to you, you are playing teamfights on pvp, get out of a fight to chase a one guy can make you lost a match". --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will show a build that is not a Meta but yet is very usefull one to start and comparing it: Sword/Longbow: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PKwAwyNlNwwYUsLGJW6OWLfA-zZRME0GA This build here is a basic condi build for pvp, you have a medium condi bonus, a range weapon and meele weapon for condi. The 'Defy pain' and 'Last Stand' from traits , 'Shake it Out', 'For great Justice', 'Signet of Fury' and 'Battle Stand'. What healing skill to use? its up to you to decided. The Flurry skill from burst need to be well applied and in the correct way. Playing condi is different from playing strike dmg, the battle are a little longer. This is my main build? No. This an example, what lacks on it? What I can improve? How can i perform better with this? Its up to you to decide before the match begins or even on WvW. My enemies will bring fear.CC? Can I change the build to adapt it better to my opponets, I will say to you 'Of course, and you should do it'. The problems with the metas builds its that everyone knows your way of playing. The Basic Axe/Shield and Greatsword its well know for everyone and of course this meta already have a counter build to it. Understand the combat system of this build and many others builds: This build is a medium combat condi focused, has everything you need to approach your enemy. So don't go for meele if you have the advantage of a range dmg. First put your condi dmg based with the longbow condi dmg, use the skill "Pin down" and "Fan of Fire" to apply dmg on your target, use Smoldering arrow to control their skill applying blind. All that condi skill should be used with "For Great Justice" which will increase all your output strike dmg and condi dmg. To control the situation and increase your dmg you can activate the 'Signet of Fury' and shot a Combustive Arrow on your Opponent, but you should apply this correctly managing the battle to your favor, use it near your so if the enemy switch to meele he will to go through fire and flames to reach you. If the enemy goes to meele, just garantuee that your already put your condi dmg from longbow and them switch to sword/sword starting with Riposte,Impale, Rip and go for Flurry( Apply this correctly) if your flurry got in your already have ur battle done. If the enemy don't have condi clean its a gg for you. If he clean everything, just keep hiting with sword and do the rotation again. As more stack of bleed get in the more he will try to think to retreat, and that when the longbow come back again 😎. So 'What 'Battle Stand' doing there on the build?' I don't know, read and see when to use it, just don't throw it on the ground to receive bonus... That build above can be improved a lot. But is up to you to look in it. This build can works against a 1v1? Yes it can. But is not a garantuee of 100% of winning. I would say this a better approach to a team fight. Make sure that everyone on the battle are bleeding and burning as you hold the point. As long their bleeds stacks and burn, more they will try to retreat. Please don't mix power with condi, condi build don't really need critical or power bonus. Hammer/Greatsword Build: Hammer is the craziest weapon here its totally developed to control the battlefield. If you enemy don't bring stability you gonna shutdown everyone, everyone will be kissing the ground all the time. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PKgAIFlJwUYJsQGKO2OULdA-z5gXCiOA Again this a simples basic build, I won't give you everything you need. You have to read and take note what to change. Hammer is called low tier by most of the player, first because ha been nerfed, specifically the skill 'Backbreaker' and 'Earthshaker'. But think with me that skill is a CC and using it with the physical skills will just improve it capacity, the dmg of this weapon is based on 'Fierce blow'. So this weapon has good dmg but its aim is not dmg. So that when the Greatsword or any other pure raw power weapon get in. You gonna say about telegraphed movements, but remember your enemy can just dodge 2 times πŸ˜‰. "Can I change for Axe/Shield or Axe/Axe on my secondary weapon?" Of course and if you do that just remember to change your trait to follow your weapon changes. This build has decent toughness, CC, health and good self sustain and mobility, but lack on range dmg and it dmg is in a medium overall. Can be denied for a while with stability, because 'Stability don't rules forever, and when finish your boon you gonna be CCed again.' And remember some builds aren't developed to hold any 1v1, remember that if you are fight teamgroups this is the best choice to help others. On WvW 'stability' is a most have on all thing, most of the squads don't want to be CCed by a low tier hammer group of evil core warriors, and that when the Spellbreaker get in 😎 Those builds are core builds, "When should I have go to Elite Spec?" When you see the opportunity to improve your offensive or control the situation. I will say that the core war is the most flexible proffession between the 3 and the best. You gonna kill a lot with Elite Specs but core war seems more reliable and more stable than the others. About Berserks I can ensure to you that is the most offensive between the 3 cited here, thanks to it limited Berseker mode you won't be allowed to eat your opponent 🀣. Most player asked for Berserks mode to be change, but I think that on this current state is correctly. Berserker mode is OP and when you get in this mode the opponent is should only think to 'Run'. You won't find a OP build that just press one buttom and kill all other classes, all builds and classes has it counters. Warrior has been understimate because is have been demoralized by other class, just ensure to take down them. The first builds here are legacy builds that were used on the begining of the the GW2. Still viable today and will be for times to come, just know when to use and how to use it. Hope all you enjoy, I didn't not put many builds here because I think that everyone should play with strategy in mind and if you are playing PvP this a 'must have'. Here a basic/main sound for Warrior, and how they should remember us on PvP, WvW and in any other contents See you in the battlefield 😎 comrades!!!!
