  2. Haven’t people learnt from mech, pets never stay strong long term, they get destroyed over time due to the outrage against them, asking for pet based elite specs is asking for a dead spec effectively

Legendary armour / story / able to use any weapon on any elite are tbh far larger change ups. 😂 don’t think I’ve ever bought an expansion for the sole reason of what a class gets. but if your stuck playing ele without warhorn I feel for you 😔 I’m pretty certain that leaves you with few options at the optimal side of that class

I don’t want weapon swap added lots of people went Engi / ele because they didn’t want weapon swap, removing another option culls the options for those players. also I rly don’t think it’s holding engi back. Rangers top dps because Anet balanced their abilities to do so, it’s nothing to do with design, the same spec that’s top today has also had times where it’s been mid pack. rangers raised in dps, just like the other options who got dps focused new stuff, it happens everytime, power creep comes with every wave of introductions, so ones who got dps additions raised. also yeah, holos getting buffed, Anet are addressing this
  9. As I said more niche, and not always if they weren’t dps related at all, or even further ability altering in terms of additions. The primary issue here would be the cost, having to frequently change runes can be quite a expensive task, hence why they likely allow 1 rune to become a all round BiS I’m not sure I’d consider the fact every condi class uses the same runes as the greater evil, this games built on alt friendlyness, if you had to change ur runes everytime you move your ascended gear to another char, or worse spec, many would simply not be able to afford to engage in such ways.

Well yes, most people against the dummy could pull 35k dps, but tbh the second issue is across the board, ironically if you look at the medium dps across the board on wingman, every class including ele sits at 20k The whole X is easy mode and Y is hardcore, isn’t strictly true. Realistically every class in this game the core majority struggle to play effectively in actual gameplay. things in this regard won’t change i am afraid, the concept of doing mechanics while also hitting a active rotation isn’t something the average player can do at a high level, thus was the purpose of auto attack builds and low intensity builds that achieve 20k dps or higher. A lot of the classes in raid / fractal environments are too hard for the playerbase to execute in a active environment. imho the reason ele is so low popularity is because of open world content, the lack of really being a mage in actual gameplay and strictness in builds. a engineer can run scrapper in berserker gear and run absolutely fine, same for reaper, scourge can go strict viper etc etc try doing ele without a celestial build, I’ve even seen posts on this from Reddit and when people say “u need to get a celestial set” their immediate response is “that’s a lot of work just to do the story” imho people don’t play ele, because the actual journey is so strict for ele, they don’t start and just choose a option that can float through the games story, by the time they’re raiding why would they then play a elementalist I have a elementalist, I build ascended sets to cover everything did map completion and raided with it, my issues with ele were never trying to play it in raid, my dps was fine with it, what eventually wore me down to playing another class, is it feels like it’s 4 expansions behind every other class in QoL. my scrapper can just run with berserkers, I don’t need to worry it can sustain fine, ele requires so much effort just to start the content it’s tiresome. grimjack made a build for ele do like 25-30k dps in one attunement with only a auto attack, it has access to easy builds for decent dps, it’s just not fun my Favorite build was always hybrid weaver, I do still play ele sometimes but I think since my break a lot of my love for it has disappeared I’ve been enjoying my scrapper a lot more

Well of course there is, there’s several things they could do. - buff easier aspects of the class to raise the minimum damage and reducing the dps loss because of misplays - return staff as a good dps weapon to give ele proper ranged options in competitive environments They could make each weapon flat in terms of dmg type, I.e reduce the attunement pool to 3 and remove fire or air based on the weapon choice to reduce buttons. they could add more dmg in pve to the water / earth elements, where all the defensives are. remove quickness and boons from jade sphere into a trait which applies it from a passive effect on abilities in each attainment and jade sphere be only static area dmg pulse. there’s lots they could do to simplify ele down, and imho they should. The core playerbase can’t play ele, that is a problem realistically

And on the other hand why make the best option something 99% of players can’t use. choice exists for fun,you sit here saying this, yet 99% of the playerbase can’t get a 90+ percentile log on virt, every class is high difficulty when your wording it like this, because the vast majority can’t do it.

It’s not really a sad reality, this is the case in all MMORPGs, difficulty is a choice for fun, it exists for those who want it for the right way, literally balancing based on difficulty has never succeeded. pretty sure wild star tried this idea, and it got shut down after attempting to reboot twice, you can’t balance a mmorpg on difficulty, it just makes the game wildly unapproachable You will find in every successful mmorpg difficulty is never factored into the balance, difficult options should exist, but it’s there for the users choice, if your choosing the hardest to play class because you think it should do the most dps, u just aren’t choosing your class for the right reasons so ur getting burned

Other classes being easier to play doesnt make ele less viable, their never gonna balance the game on difficulty, the concept is every class do similar dps, difficulty isn’t apart of that. difficulty exists as a choice in mmorpg, for those who enjoy / can keep up with more challenging options, to lean the balancing in such fashion would severely damage the accessibility of the game as it’d become a expectation for anyone filling a dps role to play ele I haven’t tried pistol, so I won’t comment on what it can and can’t do, returning to the game I decided to make a new character instead of Ele to change things up for myself. a lot of the new weapons seem to be considered a disappointment however

As far as I’m aware, this legendary set is obtained through solo content, it exists to give the ability to solo players to obtain a huge QoL set, I.e changeable stars on the fly without cost while being usable simultaneously on every char of the same armour type. there has to be some devide towards a gear set that physically requires you to enter competitive or end game systems. Otherwise you delete the only reward u physically obtain by these game modes yet it does, the fact it has changeable stats on the fly and simultaneously and usable on all chars of the same gear type at the same time is what by definition makes it legendary. And yeah, I agree with: Every leggy ends up looking like a cheap disco night, more normalised looking gear sets as a option is great especially when these flashy sets already exist and are perfectly achievable by the players demanding them just go get the other legendary set if that’s what you want cosmetically, don’t delete other options from existing

How and exactly how do you pin point it to this game? someone who runs on a outdated graphics card cause see fps issues, is that a p2w issue? having a mouse with additional keybinds on it can be seen as a advantage is that p2w also?. ownjng a monitor could also be a advantage? Do we also consider that p2w…. welcome to pc, the specs of a pc unlike consoles are not standardised, I.e come on a huge spectrum in terms of power, therefore people’s pcs in many many cases will never be equal. people with better fps, better quality keyboards and mouse’s, higher refresh rates on monitors and more will by default have a advantage in any game, that’s not something that the games responsible for, that’s just how pcs work.

I wouldn’t rly call rangers pets stronger or tankier rangers abided by the dislike Anet has for permanent pets just as engineers have fallen into now we all said this when the demand for a golemancer started, we said it throughout the announcement, anet always dump on permanent pets, why? because players unite when Pets start being equal, there’s 2 things which trigger the playerbase - stealth - pets. anet nerf them because the overwhelming negative reaction received when pets start winning, if they get out dps’d by a build which is primarily made up of a pet, or killed in PvP they rage. and this is not exclusive to gw2, people get equally as angry about BM hunter in WoW, blizzard just listen to it less, mech at EoD launch was replacing the entire point of rolling ranger pet wise due to it just being by a 10 fold better, it was getting outrage from every corner because players absolutely despised the spec, it got neutered based on the back of those 2 points It shoulda been a golem, which worked alike a weapon swap which we could pilot, not this permanent pet BS that was so obviously going to get raged over until nerfed.

Think u could argue gw2 is one of the least gw2 Has the store and ability to buy gold sure. but WoW has those same things with a paid sub and double the box prices honestly, gw2 is prolly one of the most consumer friendly mmorpgs on the market right now, the quantity you get with absolute minimal input is crazy And no they do, when HoT as a expansion was launched the amount of screeching over the fact it cost money was huge

I understand what your saying, I’m simply saying there’s no point paying attention to opinions that gw2 is p2w. these people won’t be happy til gaming becomes a 0 profit form of entertainment, they want everything and they want everything for free. We want to play games, they need to make money to create games, it’s that simple, just like you pay out £40 to take ur family to the cinema, or pay £80-£100 on a nice meal out. The opinion holds no validation, every games p2w. Literally every single one of them, every game has a gate somewhere that demands payment to pass, weather that’s at the box price, subscription requirements, or micro transaction, it’s not a opinion, it’s just a portion of players are far too over-entitled, everything costs money, world owes em nothing, and just like every form of entertainment it costs money to participate in. the only argument worth a dime is simply if the cost of the game is simply reasonable. P2w arguments died in 2016 when players decided everything was a opinion and anything’s p2w if they say so. games have a cost, it’s on the player if they feel the money the game costs is reasonable or not.

I request very much no, this will increase the complexity of the class as a whole, I think elementalist is a good example of what happens when you keep layering more and more. many chose these weapons to avoid weapon swap, and there’s enough choice for both to exist. Engineer doesn’t need weapon swap.

Expansions aren’t p2w, expansions are the equivalent to CoD 1 and CoD 2, without restarting the entire world again and again….. players want everything for nothing, that’s all this is lol entertainment costs money, it’s that simple, every game on the planet is effectively p2w it’s a term that was created for extreme cases. Not just because the game costs money It’s not a opinion, p2w was created as a description to games that demanded heavy micro transactions to gain power that wasn’t available from the game or made unacceptably short P2W in itself however apply to every game on the market lol, anything that costs RL money is “paying”.

Tbh I’ve played a lot of mmorpgs, and they don’t make sense ever, the more mmorpgs you engage with, the more you remorse Devs are aware they’re fighting a losing battle and meta will replace everything and anything regardless of how close they get things. so they aim for randomness and things that will chase to shuffle things continuously to get things different
  24. tbh i think most people dont main any class, Swapping chars is so easy in the game no one really feels the need for this, It seems to be reasonably popular Atleast according to wingman stats, got more people playing Rev then you do guardian in Raids, which is a very weird thing to say lol. considering Guard used to be like 40% of the playerbase things will Jump in and out of meta and change over time, no class is meta forever unfortunately, it'd appear its primarily used for Quickness Herald builds as of right now. but tbh its DPS Options are about the same dps as every other class outside a few outliers which are doing 50k+ Currently lol

Problem with the new weapons is they tried to add “something they don’t have”, a stand alone weapon was never gonna do well there and in the cases it did alright it’s generally made the weapon feel very 2D as it’s useless everywhere else if these weapons were made to fit into current builds, and doubled down on their current design they’d of likely be a lot more successful
