  1. Except. if gw2 had 500k players, 10x would be 5 million, 20x would be 10 million… which are both numbers both these games have hit reliably in terms of popularity on content launch’s. it’s not as wild as you make out, when we are talking such low numbers and yes, 1 million people when your audience is world wide, is a tiny number of players in the potiental audience we are talking the Big 2 of the mmorpg market, I’m sorry but they hit 5 million easy 😂 ffxiv most defintly does. Estimated numbers of continuous playing players sure isn’t accurate 100%, but their ballpark numbers realistically and a lot of data is extracted to pull the numbers on these things. And no, I don’t, creators of those games such as belluer in WoW, spend a lot of time releasing videos crunching numbers to work out % of players lost and estimates of averaging numbers as well as more. hence the whole “SL lost 60% of its players before the end of patch 1” went around concerning WoW that was his math that worked that out lol WoW give access to player counts that have achieved achievements etc etc, as well as things like raider.io which track numbers if m+ dungeons done per week, ffxiv has outside leaderboards concerning several parts of its content as well. no these numbers tracked aren’t perfect but their not a mile off either
  2. No, I’m stating that blizzard and FFXIv themselves release their launch numbers, they just don’t update player counts over the expansions which obviously fall granted in pretty sure WoW hasn’t hit 11mil since Shadowlands, I’m pretty certain it was 8 million in DF. how doesn’t copies sold directly relate btw? Are you saying a % of players buy a box copy of WoW to shelf and never play?…. Even if they only play for 1 month their still apart of launch numbers…
  3. lol no I simply said players I’m saying WoW and ffxiv have more reliable number counts as in gw2 a f2p account flags as an active account where it doesn’t in the other 2 modes. you have to be paying a active sub in ffxiv and WoW to be counted as a player active player counts in gw2 includes accounts that stopped playing 3 years ago, WoW is done by how many subs it has at a expansion launch and it’s likely if your paying money per month for the account ur prolly logging on. but they do relate to players, WoW and ffxiv have physical data separation to count only active players because of the sub based models. If your subs inactive you don’t count towards the number lol while in gw2 you do
  4. Gw2 includes f2p accounts those data reports only count active subscriptions, it’s not rly the same
  5. Then explain to me why guild wars 2 wingman implys the opposite? Max parses vs max parses necro is higher then warrior. people play what is strongest, yes class aesthetic etc etc is involved in statistics, but you seem to forget, the most popular classes always go hand in hand with balancing ele was the most popular class in core, because it was overpowered. It’s popularity dropped off a cliff the moment it fell in players eyes, barely anyone stuck around for its “aesthetic” same with warrior. people play what is easy to play and strong, it’s that way across all mmorpgs lol
  6. Both games actually release launch numbers, and while they don’t have concrete numbers over the course of the expansion the tech exists to track estimated numbers
  7. Considering WoW reach’s peaks of 11million at launch’s and ffxiv break 30 million players, honestly almost 1 million is nothing, gw2 likely does but big games of today have 10-20x the numbers so it will naturally be small comparing
  8. Play what you want and don’t overthink it i Oftenly overthink other classes, try to avoid over popular classes and more and generally it just leads to frustration and playing way too many characters any class can work with the right build really.
  9. Have you just never played a mmorpg before? Or just don’t really understand the concept that you buy expansions? it’s not a paywall lol, expansions replace game launches, it doesn’t change the fact you have to pay each launch to play some of you people really do want something for nothing… lol
  10. Staff could use more damage tbh but we shall wait and see what they do would be nice to use it though
  11. Well true, I don’t rly go that far back when talking about this stuff though, what happened 5 years ago won’t be very relevant to today, but sure pre PoF the class wasn’t good. PoF came out in 2017 not 2019 although I do hear scourage wasn’t amazing early PoF, so ur prolly looking more alike 2018 when it rly came into strength
  12. Don’t think it’s a case of lack of vision, i think it’s a case of this mindset that everyone must be able to do everything has just taken priority. they’ve reached a point where it doesn’t seem to matter how, but only the fact they can do it, maybe it’s cool that all 9 professions can output every boon, tank heal and dps, but imho it’s made things bland and neutered design, they fought meta building so hard, it killed the fun while meta never faded even slightly the moment you allow everyone to output every boon, the next metas simply how many boons can 1 build cover. fun should be the priority in design, people are gonna min max and meta regardless of the decisions made, I enjoy berserker tbh, but we should have had monk, weapons master should play more of a role in warriors core Is there entire concept of the idea of a weapons master is swapping weapons 5 secs faster? Why no 3rd weapon swap, why no stances, I think it’d be awesome we had stances which changed the way we attack in combat to lead to weapon based combo attacks.
  13. cant really be the cause, as one team has to win, even if 10 players are all bad One team has to equate to being better, its physically impossible for every game to just be bad, everytime you the game will simply decrease the enemy players ranking, hence why after 5 losses u suddenly get a win worth only +11, Because the enemy players are lower rank then urselves. the problem can only really be me.
  14. Hello, Im having issues with warrior in SPVP, I just seem to lose the vast majority of my games, I've played 30 Games, with only 12 wins, I've dropped from Gold 1 to Silver 2, I'm the common denominator and well we know, if your consistently seeing losses its Likely the common denominator, So realistically im going to assume the issue is lying with me beleiving the game hates me and intentionally puts me on bad players teams seems alot less logical. I've been playing as a Duellist, with Defensive condizerker, the build from Metabattle. I win the 1v1s, i hold off well vs outnumbered situations, but every time i look at the map. every node has been lost followed by seeing multitudes pouring onto the Node vs me every time, Its reached Points I've seen 2x players Roaming nodes, while my team is still dying in the mid fight 3v5. am i just not joining team fights Enough?, I seem to be able to handle the fights... but its as if I'm just in the wrong place every time without fail, because Nodes are continuously lost, I've just returned to the game after a long break, It was during EoD i quit the game, i think during the banner reworks I got fed up of waiting for something to happen regarding the class. What builds are poeple running in SPVP these days? and are there any videos which go over the warriors role reliably in SPVP with trustworthy information.
  15. expansions are ALWAYS p2w, in every game when you want to look at things like this. Entertainment Costs money. thats Normal. how can a game be as cheap as GW2 yet people still want things for nothing, its been a accepted model in the MMORPG industry for over 2 decades that you buy expansions.
  16. Bin bladesworn and give us what it was susposed to be. Monk. weapons master with no weapon swap is a bad joke, and I still don’t get why this spec was ever thought to be more then a gimmick
  17. Instead of new stuff I just want them to put their development time into fixing the existing things in professions.
  18. The problem with Elle, is anet spend too much time thinking how to increase its complexity and not enough time thinking how to make things fuN perfect class design is Easy to play, hard to master. Elementalist completely goes against this because every step they take is to add another point of complexity. I was a ele main, but I swapped in the end, it just feels like anet invest everything into its difficulty without taking a moment to consider if it’s fun, for your hardcore player sure, they may love intentionally playing this class for its difficulty and feel like their showing off but Ur average player just sees this as another hurdle thrown in the way of their class, reduce the rampant difficulty increase, give the class the QoL every other class has gotten over the years, rework staff and give it proper ranged options, and stop making it run melee builds with a tiny health pool no armour, a demand to continuously use active defence which disrupts dps in real situations, and basing its balance on what it does against a target dummy. whoever decided that what ele needed was a slow moving projectile, is honestly questionable at best, What ele needs is an overhaul, and that pistol needs a redesign. being the squishiest class in the game. with no ranged options to hand. no unique reason to take. dependent on active defensive. while being balanced on what’s achievable on a target dummy. is a combination for a ever declining rate of play. in core game ele was cool, it had more abilities and higher apm, it was fun. But now the difficulty curve has done nothing but get steeper… it’s losing the fun of a abit of a challenge, to just a recipe for disaster.
  19. I’m aware Mesmer from a CC / interrupt point of view Mesmer have a lot of supportive tools, however in gw2 supports kinda fallen into the healer role. Which I don’t rly think anet have done a good job building a foundation for the class in. i don’t think it’s anet don’t know what to do anymore with their professions, I think the issue is their response to meta formation was to make everyone do everything and now it’s caused a problem where it’s now about role compression, I.e how many things can u cover in 1 build. anet spent too much time trying to make every profession equal, when realistically they should have been doing the complete opposite unique boons, and roles is what makes professions exciting, making everyone do everything makes your class choice meaningless, your just choosing the ur aesthetically colour realistically. Instead of new elites and new weapons, anet need an expansion launch that concentrates on remaking what is already here. We don’t need to have everyone able to fill every role it doesn’t stop meta, you can’t stop meta. and boons seriously need a trim down, there’s just too many with 100% uptime
  20. Well yes, necro weapons have never been great and it’s been a case of their shrouds are their source of damage, shroud should be highly valued, with the amount of times necro has just been ridiculously overpowered. Necromancer seems to just have moved upwards consistently from core issues, things that come to warrior don’t seem to have the same effect,
  21. im sorry but what? Necro is extremely strong, and always been strong, it has been one of the classes thats in meta most consistently, maybe at core, but elite speccs have been a boon to Necro While Warriors have consistently been returning to core weapons, with core weapon issues. Necromancer by a mile is not a held back class Lol, we have been at several points where Statistics where necro has been like 60% of the entire playerpool in due to how strong its been again and again, Necro and guardian are forever loved lol, and sure at core back in GW2 Orginal launch, necro had a hard time lol, but they've consistently raised since then and have had alot of their "weaknesses plugged". I've seen some of these dual sword reapers run around and they arent that slow anymore. lol are you really trying to make out as if "Atleast warrior is X" while in both pve and pvp necromancer has always been the Stronger of the 2 in metas?..... lol, its been years, since i've returned to the game and seen Warrior being consistently good, lol yet every time i come back, Necro is massively overplayed and Beloved. lol Low hp pool and High CDs, Low mobility (til willbender, but willbender takes trade offs there)
  22. Fist weapons. I like the idea of spear but can’t help but feel like it’s going to look like an offensive staff for any melee wielder.
  23. TBH audiences of every mmorpg love to say their games dead it seems normal in this day and age
  24. I feel like anet have long term shot themselves in the foot with this specc everyone knows this should have been monk, they know it should have been monk i Feel like with EoD elites they invested entirely on shock factor and not functionality, it was all about big effects and what will generate hype from a teaser video
  25. I don’t rly get why anet have out of absolutely no where got such a drive to force Mesmer into a support role, they missed the opportunity to give Mesmer proper support options when they decided to make all 3 of their elites primarily dps. I have no issue and fully aware Mesmer lacks a support role, but they never exactly aligned the class to get a support role either. we kinda went through this when everyone screeched for bard as a elite and they decided to give us virtuoso ironically at the weapons preview post back when they showed 2 skills u will find me immediately being negative about this weapon, and I got pushed out the post by waves of players suddenly saying how great this was gonna be mesmer had no foundation for this to be built on, and now they’re last second trying to patch one in
