  1. I'm expecting them to announce a buff/fix to the Bloody Roar multiplier, but then when they implement it, it'll actually be reduced to 5%. But for real, I have no expectations. For how much "attention" they gave Warrior during the PvP patch I'm not really expecting them to touch Warrior, but I sure would like them to actually fix Power Berserker
  2. This doesn't really serve to discuss the bloat of EoD maps or memory leaks, but just a testament to how CPU-heavy GW2 is. I just recently built a new computer with pretty much sole intent of running GW2 (along with video editing and general computing). I'm using an RTX 3060, and a 12th gen i5 (12600K). Even at 1440p I can usually stay at or above 60fps for EoD metas until we get into the big zergs of players (Player Model Limit at Medium). I did Aetherblade Assault this morning and it was smooth the whole time, and I think the final boss fight it was hanging out around 30-40fps. Not amazing by any means, but at least it's perfectly playable. On my Razer Blade 13, which has a 10th gen i7, even it turns into a slideshow during Junkyard. Single core CPU performance makes a BIG difference in this game. Fwiw, on this build, there's really nothing in the game that drags it down to a halt. The majority of the game will stay well above 60fps all day, but I actually started capping it at 60fps because I can perceive the "jank" if the game rapidly jumps from 60fps to 120fps and back down, for example.
  3. I could nitpick the F2/F1 thing, and the stability thing with Headbutt/Outrage, etc all day and I think it's worth discussing. But honestly, all I want is a DPS increase. The rotation for this build is fairly simple, but fast-paced and requires good timing to maximize output. I feel like properly executing the rotation should produce similar DPS to other braindead builds (I won't say the M word), or at least bring it closer. Just fix Bloody Roar's math and bring it up to 30~33%, that's all I need. It directly rewards you for staying in Berserk mode successfully and would be enough to make the build "meta" again, and still have enough of a skill gate that it aligns with ANet's design philosophy.
  4. I've noticed there are a lot of players who are interested in trying Fractals, but nervous about jumping into instanced group content. I've also observed that totally new players are practically always successful in their first runs if they're just given a brief explanation of mechanics, so I'm putting together a video series to do just that. These are quick, bite-sized summaries of how the main mechanics in Tier 1 Fractals work, so you can jump in knowing what you're doing and have fun clearing them. Here's Fractal #1, Volcanic: If you're interested in this series, check it out here, and I recommend starting with the Intro video as I explain some main mechanics and tips you'll want to know for endgame content in general: I hope someone finds these helpful. Let me know what you think!
  5. Thanks for doing all this work and compiling this all together. I hope @Cal Cohen.2358 and the rest of the dev team see this and address this in the next patch. The changes you list would basically fix every problem I have with Power Berserker. It's my favorite build to play and it's frustrating to be less competitive even when you're playing at your best.
  6. The only functional difference is now you press F2, F1 and then spam F1 as long as you're in berserk mode. When you're on cool down we now have an additional skill (core F1) to use. The trade was a minor change in our rotation and we got another skill for it. I'm not complaining.
  7. I understand that, but I was asking what exact swap (weapon swap? equipment swap? build?) Red Haired Savage was referring to by saying you can swap between Condi and Power with one click.
  8. Can you elaborate on this? My mind went straight to weapon swapping, but that doesn't swap your builds and gear/stats to effectively swap between, say, Power Berserker and Condi Berserker. They do use different weapons, but also different trait lines, and different equipment.
  9. I am sooo grateful I found this guild, honestly. I've had mixed/negative experiences running endgame content in other games in the past, so for a while, I was apprehensive about getting into it in GW2. I stumbled upon Twilight Brigade because there's some member overlap in another guild I've been in for a while, and it has lead to some of the best experiences I've ever had in an online game. I'm now in a raid static and a Fractal training group with Twilight Brigade, and I try to jump into events/fills whenever my schedule aligns with them. The Discord is fully featured and active, the leadership is attentive and professional, and my guildmates are some of the nicest, most welcoming people I've ever met in an MMO. I can't sing high enough praises for this guild. If you're looking for a group of players who value inclusiveness, kindness, and helping one other progress and reach our goals, [hack] is home.
  10. Here's a hot take... It only matters to people who feel "deceived" by finding out a female character is being played by a male, and they only feel deceived because they were taking it upon themselves to harass and/or objectify the players in question, because they're typically the type of person who thinks females exist for them. But don't let these people ruin your time. Live your (toon's) best life and craft some cute outfits.
  11. Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it's bad. I just gave one example of how to successfully play their class and build which is exactly what the OP was asking. You can try to kitten on it all day and talk about how it's a "recipe for disaster," but it works great if you like the feel and flow of it. I never said Berserker is without weaknesses, and I'm certainly not saying it's the end-all-be-all-do-everything class, it's just an example of how it can be used successfully. There's nothing productive or helpful about trying to shove it into a bunch of pointlessly specific examples to argue that it "doesn't work" from an armchair. Arguing that "rotation minded gameplay isn't realistic" illustrates that you don't understand how one can take the mechanics and skill interactions that contribute to an effective rotation and apply them dynamically depending on the situation. You just need to have a solid understanding of how they interact, so you can do it in the middle of a fight without thinking about it. I have four skills that extend berserk mode, I can save the two that do CC for the right time if I know the encounter needs it. I can swap out one or two of them for other utilities if an encounter needs that, too, and I'll still do better DPS than half the players who are also succeeding in open world gameplay. If I fall out of berserk mode, Axe 5 does great damage over several seconds, and I can swap to GS and cleave a few more while I wait for the CD. In addition to regular jump and dodge for self-preservation, I can stunbreak, knock down, stun, and do some hard CC with my "standard" selection of skills. I can heal through incoming attacks from a huge surrounding mob, build up my adrenaline while I'm doing it, and burst F1 through anything left, and you can easily maintain berserk uptime and utilization while moving fun target to target. F1 does cleave more than one target too, by the way. It's actually pretty uncommon that I find myself in a situation where I DON'T have a way to respond to or otherwise mitigate whatever is trying to kill/maim/disable me. Trying to discredit my personal experience with my main class by nitpicking perceived flaws doesn't contribute to this discussion at all. In fact, all it does contribute to is the looming perception people aren't allowed to play the classes they want in GW2 because they're aren't as optimized (or broken) as a handful of meta builds, when we all know that isn't the truth. To their point and question, the OP absolutely can be successful with a Power Berserker build. I know because I've been doing it for a while now, in practically all PvE game modes.
  12. Very excited about the changes to Warrior. I think the Berserk mode extension reductions in PvP are a *little* harsh but I'm mostly in PvE anyway, so I'm not a good authority on it. Happy to see Warrior mains finally getting some love!
  13. I hope we get official clarification soon. The footage they were showing was in PvP and the OP's screenshot does say it's unique to game mode, but I'd love it if these buffs are game-wide too. Edit: Here it is: Mostly looks to be PvP but there's a good amount of solid improvements for PvE too!
  14. Actually it's super easy to basically open with F1. Just Headbutt the first enemy, then Outrage to break your self-stun, and you instantly have full adrenaline and are ready to F1. Outrage also extends the duration of Berserk, as does Wild Blow, Shattering Blow, and Blood Reckoning, so you can keep those up to stay in berserk for a very long time. You can basically open and spam F1 non-stop if you stay on top of your rotation. With those utilities, you also have a stun (Headbutt) and a knockback/push (Wild Blow), and you can swap a skill out for Bull's Charge, Sundering Leap, or Stomp for more mobility. I believe all of those except Sundering Leap also do decent hard CC. For healing, Blood Reckoning + Axe 5 (especially if you're surrounded by multiple mobs) will totally fill your healthbar while chopping down everything around you, and if there's enough you can even heal through attacks that would have otherwise downed you. Power Zerker is actually pretty good in open world, but it's squishy enough you definitely have to pay attention to AOEs and knockbacks from enemies. But if your reflexes are good enough, you can do tons of damage with decent survivability, and it's an absolute blast to play.
  15. Really for just this collection, you don't even need to do that much... I just used my normal PvE build and still won 5/10 matches, even got "Stadsport is on a rampage" a couple times. I actually tried a PvP build on the 4th or 5th match and it felt clunky and didn't flow as well for me, so I just switched back to my PvE build and had more success 🤪
  16. I'm a Berserker (how dare you) but... I bought the skin anyway. It's cool and I can cosplay as a Greataxe warrior like I've always wanted. Honestly if hammer got a rework to be viable it would be fine, but boy is that F1 clunky.
  17. Seriously, some of these complaints are downright absurd. It's an optional skin. It's couldn't be further from being required content, and yet some of the people in this thread are arguing that ANet is literally FORCING players to play a gamemode they hate so much they would rather quit, en masse. Like... does it rain on your planet? (Obviously not directing this at you, yoni.7015) Never mind that practically every collection with a desirable (if only cosmetic) reward involved will invariably require different flavors of gameplay that some players might enjoy less than others. Or that of the collections required for this one, 90% of them are PvE and only 10% is WvW AND PvP. But this collection, for this cape, with this specific requirement, is ANet literally killing the game? Go outside and get some air. We're 11 pages deep about an imaginary cape that you don't even need. Just wear a different cape.
  18. My main is 8 years old. I just haven't done PvP in the past. Thanks for condescendingly trying to assume you had a high horse for playing longer, though. Also, it can be unranked. You don't even have to win. Plus, if you read my post, I hypothesized that part of the design goal was likely to introduce people to game modes they may not have tried. The other part was likely to tour the types of content the game provides for new players and veterans alike. It's a victory lap. It's a game mode, they're not asking you to slap your grandmother. All this drama about how it's "disrespectful" to ask you to complete a few challenges for an OPTIONAL achievement. You could have already had your cape.
  19. I've never done any PvP or WvW nor have I ever really had any interest in them. But I wanted my cape, so I went and wandered around WvW for a bit, and I did my unranked matches (and won half of them with a squishy open world DPS build!), and enjoyed my time doing so. The point of the collection is to give you a light tour through the different types of content the game has offered over the years, and get you to try out play modes you might not have tried before. And for me, it worked, and I got my cape. And until now it didn't even require me to post on a forum about it 🤷🏼‍♂️
  20. Definitely not happening. IIRC ANet has said they have no interest in porting to console. They JUST spent about a year updating the engine to run on DX11, and while this hypothetically makes it KIND of possible to port to Xbox, it would be a tremendous amount of work just to get it working on one platform, and that's not even considering the amount of work it would take to rework the entire UI and control scheme (which really would be begging to redesign even the skill system), while still not having a solution for text chat, voice chat, and the concept of using voice recognition for commands is... just not good. The imput methods are integral to how GW2 was designed, and those input methods are mouse + keyboard.
  21. Adding to this, and to clarify it's not network latency lag, it's a client-side performance issue, but it's only happening in Drizzlewood. The entire game just hangs (visually) for a few seconds, then continues normally.
  22. I am but a simple axe/axe Power Berserker, and I'm well aware Bladesworn can pump out higher DPS. But to your point, a DPS meter alone isn't the only measure of success. You still have to know your rotation well enough to keep relatively high upkeep while dodging and managing mechanics. Despite some people thinking a DPS meter will inevitably lead to everyone playing the same cookie cutter meta builds, I often find in open world group content, the "lineup" is a lot more diverse, because maintaining your DPS uptime is more complicated than it is on a golem.
  23. I agree. It's a real fun spec to play and is already pretty viable, it just needs a little DPS bump. A strict DPS berserker build isn't really great at much else (which is fine), so I think it deserves to at least excel at DPS.
