  1. I got the exact same response. They said I redeemed it on (insert character name here) and that Transmutation Charges from the Wizard's Vault go into the wallet, which I already knew. I was still at 0 charges after I redeemed in the SAB lobby. I even specified that it was in the SAB lobby. I didn't want to argue about it because it's not that big of a deal in my case, it's just Transmutation Charges, and I'm sure support has better things to do. I thought I'd just report it here. I'm sorry you lost that much stuff! I'm curious to know where do the things we redeemed go though, because on their end it shows it was properly redeemed. I also wonder what the condition is that causes this to happen. It clearly doesn't happen to everyone because I never heard anything about even the PvP lobby stuff, and now that I'm looking back there were a lot of reports of it.
  2. I wouldn't say it's hard, but it takes more time if you're strictly and open world player. I just went the crafting route for my first ascended set since I maxed out all my crafting. I think that new players should focus on getting those ascended chests from the Wizard's Vault though. There's no shame in mixing ascended and exotic until you get your full set either. It's going to take time. Raid and Strike groups simply ask that you have at least exotics, a viable build, and a willingness to learn. You can even do low level fractals. Find the prefix stats you want, and figure out through the wiki how you will get them. You can also stat change a lot of ascended items, just make sure you remove any infusions or sigils you don't want to lose. So if there's an achievement that grants an ascended weapon, but you don't want those stats, you can change it for pretty cheap. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stat_changing#Ascended_weapons_and_armor I'll sometimes have an ascended weapon lying around or armor pieces with stats I'm no longer using, and that feature helped me a lot. As for backpacks and trinkets, the list to get them is long. I got most of mine from LW3, LW4, and Icebrood Saga vendors or achievements. You can even start working on your Seasons of the Dragon achievement in order to unlock a legendary amulet while you're at it. It also gives you a lot of other goodies (like a 32 slot bag). Might as well since you'll be there farming currency. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prismatic_Champion's_Regalia
  3. I agree that making the skills a more transparent would fix the issue. I never really noticed until recently. Untamed has been really fun to play in the last few months with all the changes they devs made.
  4. This just happened to me. I needed Transmutation Charges from the Wizard's Vault, so I decided to some SAB challenges in the special tab. I got the 100 Astral Acclaim, but when I went to spend it I got no charges. I checked my inventory, then double checked my wallet, logged in and out, cleared cache, and I still have nothing. I was redeeming in SAB. I'm going to be bummed if I lose all those points. It shows that I spent the points on Transmutation Charges, but that's it.
  5. Kind of expected since in everything other than instanced PvE content (fractals, raids, strikes), you want to prioritize your own survivability because other players won't be supporting you and giving you full boon coverage. That's especially true for PvP. I agree that hammer feels worse to use in almost every way after maces were released. Even after the nerfs, I've taken maces into fractals and strikes and it really wasn't that much of a step down from hammer, and was even beneficial sometimes because obviously not everyone is playing optimally in pugs. I don't know, it just feels like they thought Heal Druid in PvE needed a better primary than axe, and then thinking stopped there. Then again it's not like the maces trail far behind in damage and CC, but would nerfing it again really make hammers a more attractive choice? The hammer and mace are just competing closely in too many categories. I still use hammer even outside of instanced PvE content, but mainly because I think maces are ugly and the new animations, while beautifully done, don't fit my aesthetic. I'd rather be stylish than optimized.
  6. I wasn't really a fan of dual wielding mace, but then again I'm not a hardcore PvP enjoyer so maybe it feels better there. I mainly stick to PvE and what I will say is they surpassed my expectations for support Druid. That build has come so far in just the last 6 months, and mace with warhorn feels like the cherry on top, so kudos there. I tried to duel wield mace as support and it just left me missing my warhorn. Outside of Druid, I'm looking into sword and mace instead of my sword and axe for my Power Soulbeast build. I really enjoy the 4 and 5 skills on the mace. I think it does fulfill that bruiser fantasy for Ranger mains.
  7. Ranged weapons are a bit deceptive in GW2 if you ask me, at least when it comes to endgame PvE content. Boons have a limited radius, so the meta is to stack unless there's a specific mechanic you all must engage with. Any healer in this game will tell you that one of the most annoying things is seeing a Deadeye or Mechanist way outside of your boon/heal radius. Until Anet increases the range of boons, the range aspect of the weapons doesn't really matter. It's pretty dumb, and I was hoping they'd address that issue of ranged players having to stack with melee players in SotO, but I guess not. Personally I'm not really excited for mace though. It's not going to shake up the meta, probably won't be used in WvW/PvP, and I don't find mace a particularly attractive option. With weapons no longer being tied to elite specs, I'm much more interested in hammer Soulbeast and Druid for PvE.
  8. Thank you. Alacrity purely on CA and nothing else is still awkward, but I'll take what I can get. This is how it should have released. Shame it took us weeks to get to this point. I have been playing Heal Alacrity Druid for the past few weeks and I don't blame people who were angry and changed builds, but I hope people give it a chance again.
  9. Getting ascended items with Orrian Pearls never really made sense to me because it's not abundant in a specific farmable location like Winterberries. However, Siren's Landing is required for the legendary trinket Aurora, so it's never dead. I always see people farming there. All that being said, yes Sirens of Orr is rather useless. It's absolutely the last thing you should unlock from HoT masteries if you ever unlock it at all.
  10. Eh I think the truth is somewhere in between. You have to be crazy to think that professions like Guardian are not well taken care of patch after patch, but I don't think the developers really hate any profession. I just think they struggle to understand some within the context of meta dictated by the community. On paper Druid Support seems like it would dominate the end game scene. Its healing can easily carry any team that builds around it, but that's the thing. Nobody is going to build around healing alone, so the threat of it eclipsing something like HAM does not exist within the confines of how the community engages with the content. The meta is strictly enforced by the community and justified through the limiting nature of the LFG. It's boon support, boon dps, and three dps. The only time the community steps out of that is if the encounter is broken by something like old Heal Scourge on Boneskinner. This is a problem that the developers led us to by encouraging near 100% boon duration, specifically for alacrity and quickness. Therefore their hesitation with giving alacrity duration to Druid, and arguably tying it to CA alone, doesn't make sense within the context of how the game is played. A build is only good if it can fit into the meta. I think the recent Druid changes are just a sign that they're a bit out of touch with the community. For Condi Druid I wouldn't worry about a nerf anytime soon. It's a sleeper pick and condi builds in general are not hyped up. I think with SotO we're going to experience a significant power creep, and I'd expect a lot of professions to either match its current benchmark or surpass it They clearly want us to be doing more damage otherwise they wouldn't be opening up the meta with the arrival of new weapons for every elite spec.
  11. Yeah I agree I can't stand what they did with Heal Alacrity Druid. The CA regeneration without old spirits just hurts the build so much, and I don't really like CA being the only thing that generates alacrity for Druid. Why can't we have it on a weapon skill? Pretty much the only thing we prioritize is our warhorn skills, so maybe let us have alacrity on axe or staff via a trait? I'd like to be able to utilize weapons more as Ranger in general. I don't know I just know that right now it's unacceptable in PvE content. I'm honestly jealous of Heal Firebrands and Heal Alacrity Druids for their easy access to might and alacrity respectively. Meanwhile we have to bend over backwards to provide those boons now and it's still not quite there yet. I will say you can reach close to the alacrity uptime you had previously, but it's just a headache to pull that off and you sacrifice a lot to provide alacrity. Why even play support Druid if that's how it's going to be when there's other elite specs that can support better? Anet needs to think about these kinds of things when they're being this stingy because looking at support Druid's peers is eye opening in itself. I will say that one good thing about this patch was the emergence of Condi Druid as a viable and fun PvE build. Did not expect that in 2023, and it's a welcome addition.
  12. This is actually a really interesting take I haven't seen many people bring up. You're seeing two popular yet contradictory opinions floating around the community. On the one has people are decrying the loss of class/elite spec identity, and on the other they're so excited that they'll now have access to every weapon in the game. Everyone having access to the exact same weapons is a loss of identity and eventually the "is that a Holosmith with a hammer," schtick is going to wear off in my opinion. The balance implications of such a change are something we're only starting to realize in this patch. It's funny because the popular narrative currently is that Anet would never have implemented boons in the way that they did if they knew what it would snowball into today, and yet we seem to be going down a similar path right now with few people really discussing it because new shiny stuff. It's no wonder they're being so conservative with changes given that upcoming weapon change alone will break the game, and honestly there's just going to be some classes/elite specs that leave others in the dust. If we thought June's boonpocalypse patch was confusing, imagine what SotO will be like. Regardless, it currently feels like we're in a state of limbo and I do think it's reasonable to fault the devs for that. Our access to end game content and overall enjoyment of the game is being affected far ahead of the new patch. That's not how it should be. Why should we be wondering which way to go with our builds for this long when SotO doesn't come out for another month and half. It's just prolonged suffering without a plethora of new content to get us through it.
  13. Thank you for the update. I wish it was sooner, but I do appreciate the communication of the intentions going forward. I'm happy to see Scourge, particularly DPS Scourge, hasn't been forgotten. However, the crux of the issue is sand shade uptime. It makes it so you have to be constantly spamming them. That feels awful to play and does not require skill. It's still not a good design for any class. Druid is in the same boat, and it's good that you buffed the duration so that it's somewhat viable now, but why must Druid spam for alacrity when others don't have to do that? It's similarly an unfortunate design choice that does not feel rewarding to play. Plus the tradeoff is severe. Why must Druid sacrifice their class identity (celestial avatar) simply to provide a boon? Who would want to play Heal Alacrity Druid over Heal Alacrity Mechanist if that's the case? This patch feels like a significant Druid nerf, and it doesn't seem like that was the goal.
  14. For many of us that have had our builds that we invested time into wiped out as well as had our elite specs made worse to play or just straight up irrelevant, it can't get worse. This is the worst for us. I don't think it's just the balance team's problem though. I would be fine with where we are right now if they addressed the concerns of the community. This patch was met with overwhelming negativity, and that calls for a response sooner rather than later. Right now we're all just guessing and speculating over what changes were intended, and which ones were not and how they're going to fix them and how long that will take. This is something they should have updated us on before the patch dropped since it went through virtually unchanged, but at the very least they could have posted an update today explaining what's going to happen. The silence is what is truly irritating here and the feeling that we don't know what to do with our builds. Massive changes that completely alter class identity and elite specs that people have been playing for years should not be treated this way especially when it's causing this much chaos and confusion.
  15. My will to play has gone out the window too with the Druid changes. I already hated the Scourge changes. The community was loud in their disdain for Scourge changes and it didn't really make a difference. More terrible changes in the name of universal alacrity and quickness options are to come, so I don't see myself investing time into another class/elite spec when it's been disrespected to this extent, and I'm not going to become a Guardian main, so what's the point? Druid was my last hope, and I was skeptical of the changes, but truly I didn't think it could be as bad as what happened with my Scourge and it actually is. The Druid changes are a slap in the face after I was still reeling from the Scourge slap. There's just nothing I can say that is positive. I think they need to stop playing fast and loose with specs they clearly do not play and instead listen to feedback or get some actual playtesters who have experience with the specs they're looking to overhaul because this is just the worst. I've been playing for almost 8 years and I can't remember a time where I've felt worse about this game than I do right now.
