  1. I'm aware. The question was why is the leveling experience faster now and it's absolutely one of the main reasons. Between that, food and the xp boosters you get from leveling you can blow through it in no time with barely completing any maps.
  2. They introduced a character adventure guide that rewards you for doing things in the game such as dodging attacks, doing hearts, events etc that give you extra experience on top of what you would normally get. This resulted in a huge xp boost in the leveling process
  3. Almost like different people want different things. I would hate to be forced into a mode I don't enjoy for a collection I'm interested in. WvW is boring and getting two shot by perma stealth thieves doesn't feel good. Strikes are fun but the rewards are weekly for some reason. Fractals are amazingly fun but I feel I've missed when they were common content. To get into raiding and CM's I'd have to dive down a rabbit hole to figure out how to get the exact stats I need, then grind the materials for it out. What you're seeing is people seeing the real grind behind this game and how to get something it requires jumping through so many hoops it's extremely demotivating. EG: Today for giggles I decided to do my fix-r-up collection to grab a stat selectable hammer. While doing that the game threw another collection at me I had to do to complete it. So I did that collection as well and finally got my hammer. Turns out I could only select between three different stat combos and the Diviner I wanted wasn't one of em. No problem as I can just swap stats in the mystic forge (Which nothing in the game told me was possible which is a gigantic issue with GW2. Obscure indeed. Mandatory wiki open all the time). Figured I'd get the insignias and inscriptions off the market. Nope. Turns out those are bound to account so they're not actually sold, so I had to look up how to get the recipes to craft them which is counter to most of the other prefixes for reasons I guess. It's overly complicated and a "quit moment" if you will because the game doesn't even adhere to its own rules it establishes. This was for one piece of gear on one character. I have 12. It's basically eve online's spreadsheet simulator at this point.
  4. More than half of the steam reviews have less than 20 hours played. Glad the game's getting good reviews but seems to lack retention.
  5. I personally enjoy the time I put into getting that accomplishment but the thought of it being made available to everyone doesn't take away from that for me at all. Also, the skyscale collection really isn't bad at all besides the time gating. I also learned new systems in the process that turn a profit with the charged crystal.
  6. That was a meme before and continues to be one now. I can do the same on firebrand but it's better accepted because it's melee? Or because it's condi and has more of a ramp up? I'm lost as to why there's such issue. Anytime I tried joining a group and was denied because of my gear or build I was always told to create my own. Sounds like you need a different group with less restrictions?
  7. Then don't play it? The fact it's played so much is a decent indicator they did something right. Before I had a viable alternative I would putter around between all of the professions and decide what I had the reaction time to play that day. Now on my bad days I still have something I can pick up and play and not be a hindrance to group content. It got me confident enough to dip my hand into fractals and soon would like to try strikes. Calling for nerfs to that instead of suggesting buffs other professions need is not good for people like me. It really makes me feel unwelcome in the community.
  8. itt: people build spec to boost damage output and gear glass cannon zerker ascended then complain about it being too much damage 😂🤣😂
  9. That's one of the best examples of gatekeeping I've ever seen. No one is AFK'ing in raids that's your hyperbole because others can experience the content you already have. You and people like you are the worst thing for a game that depends on communities. No one is asking for content to be nerfed, just easier to get into so there are more people to enjoy what the developers made. You need to face the fact that mech is fun to play. Everything has a great synergy and if flows amazingly. I can also do actual damage from range and not have to stare at a bosses boots when I play. I can actually learn the mechanics instead of trying to comb through my combat log to see why I'm on my back yet again. The fact my enjoyment is a threat to you is hilarious to me and kinda sorta seals the fate on the future of the franchise if there's this much crying when they make an accessible spec that actually performs. My main in gw1 was a spirit spammer, until it got boring then I learned how to dervish. I see this community complain about people pulling 2-3k dps in OW, yet when a build is buffed to help improve the OW experience everyone takes up arms. This is just kittening silly
  10. My issue is there is going to be people who cheese skills and exploit something that is theoretically possible to achieve and make some meta build that achieves things the devs didn't intend so it gets nerfed. Yet the .05% of players who were exploiting that will just move onto the next gimmick while everyone else suffers the consequences of those nerfs. It's that kind of mentality is what caused gw2 to never truly blow up and will continue to be a niche game with content droughts if you push so many away. God forbid someone joins the game and can only afford zerker armor and gets to experience content they realize they could be better at by learning a more difficult build/profession.
  11. It's quite silly the reaction to a spec that doesn't require spreadsheets and juggling tons of different skills to be effective. Mech is what necro should have always been. Let's also not forget one of the most used builds in gw1 was SoS and it's pretty faceroll. So unsure why everyone else feels so threatened because there's a competitive spec that doesn't require hard to find gear and a rotation that allows me to participate while playing the dance dance revolution that is boss fights in this game.
  12. I finally came back to gw2 after quitting after the release of HoT. The difficulty curve going from core to the expansion completely wrecked my desire to play. I'm a disabled gamer with lagging reaction times and without LI builds I simply wouldn't be able to play the game. So many players complaining that anet made a build that I can actually play and not be a detriment in group content just completely blows my mind. Screaming for nerfs rather than just asking for more stuff to be brought up to it. Just makes me think that me and players like me aren't welcome in this 'hardcore' game. If that's the case fine I'll move on but the response to mech buffs really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The gatekeeping. wow.
