  1. After reviewing the new elites again, I have to take back my comments. For one, besides the names, these aren't new concepts. These are spins on traditional archetype and I just didn't notice it. I didn't realize that the Bladesworn is a take on the Samurai, the Catalyst is a nice a Battlemage, and the Virtuosos is the classic Psionic. Why didn't someone just tell me....
  2. Yeah, I get that. Hence why we're having the discussion to hear other opinions. I know I have a preference but hearing others and their arguments towards them can be insightful.
  3. I think they were great. They all were recognizable, even if poorly named, to something we are familiar to in other fantasy lores. I would want more of the same. Plus, we already have enough skill type, why do we need new ones. I like when when people think inside the box, not so much thinking outside the box. Isn't it great when things that are "predictable" are done so well they blow your mind?
  4. So your saying that people were asking for Eles to have gyros, Necros to have Pistols, and Revs to loose dodge? I'm not saying that ANet shouldn't be original, but I think they could get more players by having elites be able to fit classical tropes most people are familiar with, but allowing some flexibility within the traits to make them have some originality. Just my opinion.
  5. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that ANet goes out it's way to create a new experience with each expansion. The only problem I see is, when it comes to the elite specializations, it's so far reaching that I think it's not interesting and far from what people are asking for. I, myself, perfer them to use elite specializations to expand the profession with classes we're all familiar with as opposed to new ideas. I liked the Druid and Berserker, but the Willbender and Bladesworn, I truely could careless for. I feel like the forums had better ideas and all of this was a waste of time. What's your thoughts?
  6. You're right. I would actually prefer they change the necro color to red from green, like they changed Scourge to tan from green. I think Vermillion also has more to do with toxins or toxics, which falls right in line with the utility skills. It's a much more fitting name. Harbinger does not fit this elite at all.
  7. I really think ANet should change the name of these elites. The current names are not fitting at all, and they could save these names for the next set of elites. I think names are more below are more fitting. Mesmer- Psionic Necromancer- Vermillion Guardian- ? (Willbender just doesn't sound right)
  8. I think they add them. The game was basically ready to come out in September/ October, but now they say February... they must be working on something!
  9. I know they have 5, but what's the 2 missing. I hope one is unlocking Racial Specializations and another is Anothers team mount.
  10. Is it just me or is anyone else just not that excited about the next elite specializations? I think the Virtuoso looks bland compared to the previous elite specializations. I'm not sure if it was the demo, the demo's outfit, or the skills animations. I think that presentation killed my hype.
  11. Lol... I was referring to the Elementalist possibly having 5 Attunements instead of 4, but what you said... I can see it now. Lmao!
  12. I feel ANet is just trying to blend the concept of a psionic and a bard together. I can only imagine that they would have different soundtracks play for each skill ability just to make it fit. I think ANet tries so hard to be different. They are giving people what they want, just not how they want it. After time goes by, we'll adjust and start speculating the next round of elites.
  13. I feel the same way. They should make Dagger offhand and make weapon skills 2 and 3 the 4th and 5th skills.
  14. They need something as cool as this and it could be added to the next elite.
  15. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/fc/9b/75/fc9b753d20fca22ba31cf7d5b11f5f9b.jpg I've been waiting for like forever.
  16. I know it's not a Sword. I'd say I'm 65% sure it's either a dagger, 25% it's a short bow. I'm rooting for short bow.
  17. All weapons can be cool if they do it right.
  18. A War Horn is only as boring as they make it. The abilities would depend on how creative the designers are. I would have Guardian use the War Horn to Summon a Celestial Entity or Mystical Force. The other skill could force enemies back with a blast.
  19. I was being nice about giving offhand pistol to Warriors and Main hand pistol to Revenants. I figured off and for Warrior would maintain the Warrior close distance while at the same time having powerful midrange abilities. Allowing Warrior and Revenant dual weilding pistol isn't a bad idea, but not dubbling or doubling them keeps them unique and stays fitting to a Warrior wanting to do the most damage possible as close, as effective, and as efficiently as possible. Skill wise, it really doesn't mean much for Warrior to have 5 midrange pistol skills, when all the really need is just 2, a Magnum Round and Warning shot.
