  1. The vast majority of us actually bought Guild Wars 2, before it was free and I'm willing to wager that 99% of the players on this forum have bought at least one expansion, not to mention all the gems we have collectively bought. PvP is supposed to be part of that product. There are some who even exclusively bought GW2 for the PvP and the expansions to be able to play those classes in PvP. We paid for this product, and ANet is giving us the middle finger. They are not even acknowledging PvP exists, they didn't even mention it in the roadmap. There is zero communication, zero developer investment in the issues that plague this game mode and the balancing changes are clearly out of tune with the reality of how the gameplay currently works and what it needs. They don't give a kitten. Remember that.
  2. All it takes is for ANet to actually give a kitten about PvP. Given how long these issues have plagued the gamemode, and even more and how there has been ZERO work on any of it, much less ANY WORD from ANet on them tackling any of it or them even remotely caring, it's safe to say they don't even remotely care about PvP.
  3. It's not, but meta is about the top 10-15% of games played. The rest have to deal with dumb Virtuoso kitten they don't know how to counter. And even at a high level, it's still frustrating because you can kill them, but it still takes a century of waiting before they blow through all their blocks and invulns. But then, at lower ranks people don't know how to play Bladesworn and Untamed to the degree that it's broken, and they are often a liability, while at higher ranks there's often no point fighting either. Everybody has to endure this "meta" some way or another.
  4. Bunker Virtuoso with 90% invulnerability and block uptime, Berserker where all you see is 0s and green numbers, everlasting Bladesworns, Untamed that can constantly stealth with their pet and just drain your cooldowns with their pet attacks, etc. etc. etc. This sure is some engaging and dynamic gameplay.
  5. Druid was literally full meta in the GW2 World Championships m8
  6. God I miss the meme kitten like EoE bombs, bunny thumpers, Vampiric Touch Rangers. Somehow it was always Rangers involved in the most broken kitten.
  7. This wouldn't be an issue at all if PvP were more populated and the ratings of the players involved in matches were closer together. The issue is ANet not giving a kitten about PvP and letting it die (or even worse, maybe even actively encouraging it to die), not the rating system.
  8. Yeah it should work only on physical projectiles like bow attacks and ranger axe attacks and such, not magical attacks.
  9. All graphics settings maxed, I don't own EoD. It's particularly problematic in PvP when facing Virtuoso players.
  10. Like I said, these changes do absolutely nothing. The issue with Weaver is the sustain/damage trade-off. It has to sacrifice too much damage for sustain and vice-versa. It's either a complete glass cannon that dies to a sneeze and only wins engagements when it has the complete initiative, against a limited amount of classes/builds, or it's a very bad bunker with zero damage that is outclassed by every other major bunker. There are no viable builds at a competitive level. What the kitten are these miniscule sword changes going to do about the entire spec being useless with every weapon? Scepter Weaver is useless, both meta FA and LR builds, as well as anything inbetween, D/D Weaver is useless in all regards. Fire Weaver barely holds up until about Gold 3 and that's because most players don't know how to counter it, not because it's good. Staff Weaver has never been a thing. The Twist of Fate change is a sidegrade, not a buff. Core buffs barely apply to Weaver, maybe D/D will be remotely decent again, and most Weavers don't run Arcane skills. Again. These changes do NOTHING.
  11. For me it's the mix of immersion and the competitive dynamics. I love playing as ele and nuking people with the aesthetics of fire and air spells, I love playing necro and just the style of their skills and animations, I love playing mesmer and dancing around people, waiting for essential skills and interrupting them. I loved all those 3 classes in GW1 and I've kept playing them in GW2. They're just immersive as kitten. Also GW2 has really engaging combat, lots of skills that interact, can counter one another, specific timings of skill uses, positioning on the map, build possibilities and limitations, fiddling with stats and traits and trying to extract the most out of every spec, skill chains that are effective, but you also have to adapt and interrupt because someone will anticipate them, etc. etc. Everything you listed is a detractor from those things I personally enjoy. They are not a lack of reason to play it, they suppress the reason to play it. For me the state of PvP is already reaching a point of ridiculousness that seriously makes me wonder whether ANet is not just neglecting it, but actively wants to sink it so they can save resources or some kitten. It's incredibly sad to me that PvP could actually thrive with even a TINY BIT of love and attention from ANet, just someone who actually cares. Once it gets past a certain point of being too much of a clown show in terms of balancing and matchmaking, then all those things you listed will outweigh all those things I enjoy enough for me not to play it anymore. But until then, PvP is still a lot of fun. I get fun out of it.
  12. Downstate is fine. PvP just needs some love and attention from ANet, involving proper tutorials and instructions. There are plenty of streamers who in practice provide all the knowledge you'd need to play PvP at a decent level, except it's not in the game. I'm sure many would be happy to lend ANet a hand with setting up an environment where new PvP players can learn the ropes, especially considering the terrible state PvP is in and high level players themselves would like some proper games as much as the rest of us. But we all know ANet will never even lift a finger for PvP because either they don't care about it or they actually want it to die.
  13. No, this is a consequence of ANet's neglect of PvP. PvP has always been a bit more toxic than the rest of the game, but never like this. Matches are skewed by DEFAULT. You can play like a god and still lose, it barely matters what you do anymore. Matches are a pure bingo and people are frustrated as kitten. Most people don't know it's because the matchmaking, they think their teammates are just being idiots. They don't know it's due to ANet. They don't know they are getting matched with players too far above and too below their skill level. Many players get mad at their teammates for making mistakes they don't make at their level, and many players get mad at their teammates when they don't have a clue that they are the ones kittening up the match themselves. It's not their fault, it's ANet's.
  14. So please give them all the Firebrand treatment and let's forget this ever happened.
  15. Yeah this kitten is kittening kitten. Like, you're 1m out of range and you cast, whoops your skill does NOTHING and you get a cooldown for absolutely no reason.
  16. They should distinguish between physical projectiles and magical projectiles. Bow attacks from Ranger, Warrior, Thief etc. get reflected, but magical attacks from Mesmer, Elementalist and such don't. inb4 Ranger mains spamming Confused on this post.
  17. I really think we have reached the point where we have to start to wonder whether ANet is purposely sabotaging PvP. They obviously haven't actually cared anymore for over 5 years now, but it's starting to go beyond neglect. It takes more than incompetence or disregard for PvP to reach this kind of state. Also in the latest balance patch they literally NERF some of the biggest underperformers in the meta (Mirage, Core Necro, Vindi, etc.) and SHADOW BUFF some of the overperformers (Catalyst, Untamed) or leave them almost untouched (Condi Reaper, Bladesworn). Ultimately we're getting a meta where there is such a sharp divide between specs/builds that are viable and specs/builds that are just unplayable at any real competitive level. What a kitten experience. I can't believe people actually think the meta is in a good place as it is with so many specs literally just being a throw in plat/AT games and I can believe people even less that say they meta is getting better with this "patch". Like what the absolute kitten. These types of decisions coupled with the COMPLETE neglect of PvP just make me feel like they want to see the gamemode die so they don't have to spend resources on it anymore.
  18. I've decided to underclock my CPU. GW2 seems to be causing an error in the CPU cache but it's not related to an overclock. Thanks for the input, we'll see how it goes.
  19. Chaos Mirage and adjacent builds aren't even near the meta right now and Carrion Axe builds haven't been a thing for god knows how long. In the current meta these changes to Mirage are a gigantic nerf since everyone and everything shits out Stability and stun breaks nowadays like it's nothing, Mantra of Concentration is a waste of a valuable utility slot and, as mentioned before, you don't really get far with Chaos Mirage builds to begin with as it is, never mind after the nerfs.
  20. OK but then also buff specific counters to supports... instead we see things like removing boon corruption from Necros in the new patch
  21. GW2 is the only game and the only application that has ever given me a BSOD as well btw.
