  1. Yeah let's just laser focus on scrapper vs monk rune solo firebrands with aegis already stripped. This 0 toughness thief guy basically survived the 1-shot build, just needed a tiny bit of toughness and maybe 1k more hp, but somehow the math tells you that a player with toughness and more than 17.9k hp will be insta-downed.
  2. I guess that's after the automatic aegis is already removed by some other attack then? Hmm this senario is getting very specific to justify your argument. Do solo roaming firebrands really use monk runes? Who even roams on a solo firebrand? I guess you are talking about a zerg build. Zerg builds don't really need to account for the anything goes of solo gameplay. If they actually go into downstate with all their buffs/aegis/barrier then they can still be got back up as long as they stayed in position. Not even going to get into the different runesets like rebirth, or the various +10% max health setups. Instead of going to a meta website and doing a carbon copy of whatever they say to do I would suggest reading thru all the runesets on the trader or leggy armor, then reading thru all the various build tree options, then every utility and elite. Really think about a strategy and build your own lightsaber.
  3. Not so much about thief/DD as the low skill gameplay and poor build choices. You guys have clearly never seen a competent thief. Watch a stream sometime. Not hard to find a streaming thief roamer. No it does not take a full set of toughness main stat armor. This DD guy survived the initial shot with 2k health but his build is pure glass and he deserves to go down. 0 toughness 1-shot boys should not survive a full stealth bomb, that would really be a broken game.
  4. @Twilight Tempest.7584I said your build was trying to be one shot not that it was optimized or working. My daredevil build probably would have survived the invisible hit. You did survive for a brief moment so it's pretty safe to say with toughness added you could react. Projectiles are the scissors to the paper daredevil so you do have be careful about your health and keep good positioning. Solo play is always more of a paper rock scissors game. If you ever decide to shadow a zerg daredevil is a great aggression class. Most zergs just stand back and let the enemy pre-buff and push at their convenience, which is a mistake. Need those aggressors.
  5. They literally can't attack anything or they will wipe. Leaching is the only option. PPT is fun!
  6. I use staff bounds with guaranteed crit and it's 10k almost every time with plenty of toughness and also more vitality than him. Using daredevil to it's full potential makes use of the nearly unending dodge rolls and also staff evades. Pair it with the runeset named for and created for daredevil. True one shot boys usually play core thief.
  7. Heavy, medium, and light does make a difference. If you were hitting a good balance of stats there would be no clip to talk about. But not being able to take a hit is a risk reward choice. I wouldn't complain about stealth bombs when playing a build like that.
  8. Still on that 17k hp 0 toughness build. Complaining about being killed too quickly. You are both trying your hardest to reduce fights down to a single hit. Either play a WvW build or really how can you complain about that.
  9. Would be interesting to see these builds seriously tested by some skilled groups and duelists. Still of the opinion that the burst from a high DPS build can be more effective in most situations. And of course the classes played make a big difference in build choices, especially when you only play solo like the OP, then it's much more of a paper/rock/scissors.
  10. Would agree celestial is good roaming but only on certain classes like ele, necro, maybe guard. Most classes would be better off building for power strikes or support. Stuff like thief or Mesmer better off with condi or power. Biggest issue is and always will be 1 push bads forcing your team to retreat and then log from the boring gameplay.
  11. Why would a once a week solo blame others for not getting an invite. The "issue" is that sort of entitlement. Join the voice comms if you want. Alliance/guild is for people who want a dedicated community. Solo/scrub shouldn't even care about that stuff.
  12. Yeah they are in T3 right now in the middle of the spectrum. The dead rosters really show, FA is pretty much gone. It is kinda surprising that you guys actually try to have 20% of your roster inactive accounts.
  13. Magswag filled up their 500 friends. And not like you can't get a community guild going at any time. Your friends list is a great place to start. Way more flexibility in playing with friends than the old servers. Maybe some decided to actually join a guild. It's like when your school friend moves away. Sad but you make new ones.
  14. A guild that plays casually shouldn't care about participation. Hardcore guilds require a lot. Must run their guild builds, expected to make raids on time. If your dieing on inc you will be called out. If your in PvE during raid your kicked.. If you want to be casual and don't mind getting one pushed and running back to feed all night then no big deal.

  16. Great analogy. There is no female USA and male USA.. there is only USA. You win medals for your country, not your gender. Team USA. There is only red,blue,green. Make up other little names if you want but it's just semantics.
  17. Team = Red, Blue, Green Alliance = a group of players that can't be carried by a single guild. Only play when there is a structured tag group and will log as soon as the hard carry goes bye-bye. Server is what the game runs on.
  18. Taking away the bandwagon and now they are part time WvW players who should get placed with the biggest stack of guilds they can find.

  22. You won't drop one of your worthless personal guilds to join your friends guild and play with them. That is very sad to hear. They must not be very good friends.
  23. You say your entitled to play while stacking EotM karma trains. Maybe your entitled gameplay is a wee bit selfish, toxic even. Nobody goes into a PvP match and say "oh there's 2 on my team but they have a full 5. Well they are entitled to play the game so I'll just feed, this is fun I want more of this."
  24. I didn't ask for the new "battle guild" but that is a great idea for matchmaking. Whatever alliances will be it's pretty clear just by the discussion people are trying to stack their 5 guilds together because they want all their various guilds together for their own personal convenience. Same as the overstacking of servers before, and for the same reason of "I want to play with my friends". That's what Tyria is for. 500 man guilds did the job fine and even then guild leaders would force a 20 man limit. How far we've come.
