  1. When it comes to the Military Uniform, I absolutely adore the Hussar and the Seer coat resembles it quite a bit. I let the below image be my inspiration: There would be two options: The first one would be a more aged, decorated type of general, his look would be more decorated and he would wear a big mantle of the sort. The second one would be a younger, more active-duty type of commander, he would wear more combat-oriented garment and his facial scar has some interesting background story. If green and red combo seems too Christmas-y for you, you can apply other color schemes used by the militants of other countries around the world. I found tons of illustrations on pinterest: https://pinterest.ca/pin/522769469222806855/?lp=true
  2. I had a guildie who would always bring rifle DE to Xera because it's recommended by SC as Best DPS, even in a training run where everything fails miserably: low DPSslow CC0 cleave on addsslow shard clearshitty supportThen they get frustrated. Anyways, I pug a LOT and it's actually quite rare that people swap to BiS DPS class for a specific encounter (except for Matthias and Largos). Everyone I've met just plays what they want to play. As long as they're not terribad, the general acceptance for DPS is rather chill. Many actually swap to a safer DPS if they see the group stutters with mechanics. For example: DD kiter vs DE rifle kiter (Qadim). NA pugs flake super fast so a smooth one shot clear is still highly preferable.
  3. It's like how people complain about the 10k drink requirement for Winter's Presence when it first came out, again. I remember people were doing maths, statistics, etc. and generally burst into outrage when the price of the drinks was like 10s /piece. After a year, it quickly dropped down to 3s, and now, 1s. The same thing happens for Rose Quartz. You have a steady supply, but a rush in demands will push people out to pay a premium for it - and they ain't happy. However, if it takes them time to farm it, they ain't happy either.
  4. Credit: @eloisemarseille I like being shiny. I also like battle high heels, bare midriff crop top or whatever fantasy elements introduced into the game. My church allows girls to wear whatever they want (and boys as well). So, move along, sis. Your preach falls over deaf ears. Edit: my bois are definitely too sexy for his shirt <3
  5. Did you cehck the https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mistward_armor, itself? IMO one of the best heavy armors in game Yes, my revenant used it for more then 2 years (this is my first character so for pretty long time) but it doesnt feel right for renegade. It is great skin but I am looking for something more practical for renegade since I feel renegade is less focused on magic.Hey there, sorry for the late reply. Do you have a reference image for how your renegade should look in mind?> @VDAC.2137 said: Hi there, your sylvari characters sound lovely and rather complex in terms of designs and dyeing scheme Would it be possible for you to attach their screenshots? It'll be easier for me to work with from there.
  6. There are simply not enough interest in dungeons these days. LFG for raid w1 or w4fc full clear would take less amount of time to fill than looking for enough experienced players to speed clear three paths of AC, SE or TA, much less the more obscure HotW or Arah. Before HoT, it took between 1-5 mins to fill any dungeon groups but now that crowd once populated and profited off dungeons has moved on. So what is the compromise? If you only look to finish a dungeon path for the daily, take anyone. HoT and PoF empower players enough to brute force through the dungeons. You can kill almost every trash mobs and still manage to be fast and efficient. Spoilers alert: skipping isn't any longer better. Trash mobs are where your main loots at. If you want to speed clear? Make a point to speed clear all the paths and prep a static group for efficiency. You waste so much time on the LFG waiting for and filtering through candidates just for mere 20 mins of speed clearing 3 paths.
  7. It's a known bug that the bounty sometimes doesn't appear at all or until the next patch day or server crash/reset.
  8. Another year since this bug hasn't been fixed. Can we have some acknowledgment of this bug?
  9. You need healers for raids definitely and fractals to a certain extension after Anet added some spicy instabilities. A lot of support builds lie in the gray area where the published builds on a meta endorsing website like Snowcrows are simply not the be-all end-all. Take chrono for example. Taking exactly 60% boon duration for a diviner's/berserk mix is recommended but not always bring the best results overall. If the chrono has to run mechanics (cannon for Sabetha, or green for Dhuum), he would need a higher boon duration to maintain a good coverage for his group. When fury is covered and boon uptime isn't an issue, chrono can play with eagle runes for higher personal dps. As for tanking, he can go for a safe Minstrel build, a riskier Commander build or a lesser known Condi Trailblazer build. An experienced chrono player can recognizes the subtlety between different builds and understands the choices for different occasions but most pugs are ignorant. Gearchecking by an ignorant commander will just spark unnecessary arguments and a waste of time. You already have a dps meter, what stops you to look at the numbers to kick the underperformer?
  10. Goodness, there is a guild of some kittens like that in NA, too. I blacklist them and simply invite them out of my squad if they happen to join.
  11. Was not high enough, or was not high enough to ignore the updraft mechanics? Was not high enough at all. We did updrafts to get to 33% without issues. We are literally talking new players who went into raids for the first time (and some without T4 fractal experience) . One with only condi Mirage, etc. This was a relaxed raid guild run to introduce people to both the guild and raids. This guild is more of a welcome all friendly players type guild. Oh ok... It was a legit question because people think is a Sin doing mechanics nowadays... Oh absolutely, it was actually fun to have to do mechanics on Gorse for once.I don't know about you but having Gorseval powered up extra 50% (by eating all the spirits) at 20%HP is painful as hell. I almost always flip out when all the noob DPS deal less damage than the off chrono. In the end, the training organizer is advised to pre-screen their trainees' golem-DPS before raids.
  12. Even though I hate farming LS map currency, I have to admit it motivates me to play the game to earn them. In my case, I play a lot of WvW and receive the map currency from the reward track as a side reward. They are a great source for ascended trinkets so obviously they should be account-bound! Besides, the current material market is a mess. If everything ends up undervalued then there's no fun farming for anything.
  13. It's Dhuum you guys are talking about, smh. Carrying one noob dps for the kill is one thing. Having an extra noob healer in the group means two different things: You have to use three healers to compensate for the noob who doesn't know how to do mechanics and thus, lower the dps and hit the enrage timer. You risk wiping by having the noob healer do the mechanics that has a highest chance to fail the encounter (kite-green) Dhuum is not the encounter where you can reset once or twice before clearing it easily. If you got it once as a dps because a random group decided to carry you, consider yourself lucky. Your experience speaks zero volume neither about the challenge or give you the authority to dictate how other groups should let noobies leech. It's condescending and ignorant at best. To all other noobies who said raids are too hard to get in, people don't accept you, etc. I'm skeptical: "Do you really try?". I'm doing random raid trainings across different time zone during the week, here is my experience: Guildies wants to start raiding, always complaining about the gatekeeping but weeks after weeks never get a raid ready build. They always ask if it would be a kill (to change the lfg to exp and get carried), if they can bring their wvw builds (because it's full ascended), how long it would take (because they want to spend 30 minutes max) or simply don't respond (because they don't want to get "yelled" at). Now I always have to fill at least half of the squad with pugs. It takes the minimum 20 minutes to fill my training lfg (the requirement being simply proficient in your class and join discord). To those who say lfg is dead, there are in fact some lfg people just conveniently ignore. I had someone come in asking to tank Dhuum with 1005 toughness then disappeared in a middle of the pull (lol). Some wannabe elitist failing every single possible mechanics but asking to kick the noob for failing the dps (sorry, failing mechanics = noobs). Then I get the usual the special snowflake who doesn't know anything, refusing to communicate, stacking toughness to grab aggro, hogging that special healer spot but repeatedly failing at everything and bringing his subgroup down. Okay, rant over. It's not like my training runs don't generally end in success but it takes a huge amount of nerves to deal with all the BS as a commander. Don't like how that group kicks you out of the squad? GET. A. REALITY. CHECK. AND. A. REAL. MECHANICS. TRAINING. Be humble. Always be humble in learning. No one owes you their time for your own enjoyment. Also paying forward: help the next noobs ease his way to raids.
  14. I'm brainstorming some outfits based on your description. Each has a varying degree of savagery and semi-modernity. Let me know which one piques your interest. Dyes are tentative to bring out the contrast and texture. Personally, I like the one with the Sand shifting longbow the most. Given the Priory Durmand is a collective of researchers, some archaeology element really fits the overall theme.
  15. I love the Luminous armor so I won't make a lot of change for it. I would swap out the shoulders to something a bit more compact, for example, Phalanx shoulders. As for dyes, I would suggest a warmth combo with a hint of red and gold. Here I'm using Tea Shade (bluish steel), Brick (dark red), Cinder (tarnished silver) and Matriarch Brass (brass). I don't have the skin so I can't tell you the exact placement of the dyes, so here hoping the pictures could give you some reference.
  16. My tips for this achievement: Bring a PULL utility Thief scorpion wireNecro spectral graspEngi tool kitMesmer focus off handRanger axe off handWarrior Kick (not a pull, but if you're solo, this could work)Ele Staff or dagger offhand for knocking back or launch skill.Step 1: Start clearing adds outside of the circle. When they die outside of the crystal area, they will spawn Brand Shards. Charge a crystal with 3 shards. A vet will spawn in the middle. Step 2: Stand in the middle, bring the vet HP down to 15% and cleave any mobs coming to the next wave. I did this achievement with a daredevil so Vault and Dagger Storm are a godsend. Other classes have their burst skills, too. Learn your own rotation. Step 3: Pull the vet to the crystal and kill it. Then finish charging the crystal. Now you have a bigger empty space to clear the mobs. Repeat for the next two crystals. If the mobs engage Aurene inside the crystals and risk charging it? Pull them out.
  17. So no one complains about the PoI that locked behind the assault event in South Auric Basin? That no one bothers doing any pre-events anymore except the meta and that doesn't inconvenience anyone enough to protest?
  18. I think the general dye scheme is pretty good. Your character looks noticeable, despite a bit on a cartoonish side. My suggestion on dye improvement is to use the right dye for the right texture: natural for leather and metallic for metal parts. Alternate a bright and a muted shade of purple for more depth and try to add more neutral brown parts in your outfit. As for the leggings and footgear skins, not many will look bulky on charrs due to their proportion: wide shoulders, back, chest vs very tiny seat, hind legs. Medium leggings look similarly slim across the board. On the other hand, you can try to get the Mursaat Brogan (boots) for a bulkier appearance.
  19. For Dyes, I find these settings will directly affect its appearance: Rendering: giving a crisp modelShader: giving contrast and definitionTexture: giving material texture and depthPost-processing: giving gloss, flare and better realistic animationReflection: giving some spotlight, better realistic lightingsThey will affect your computer's performance in various degrees. I tend to find Autodetect did a meh job to pick up the good balance of appearance/performance. I usually try to get at least: Rendering: NativeShader: Medium-HighTexture: Medium-HighPostprocessing: Lowand the rest low or noneMost complex leather and metallic dyes will look significantly improved with higher settings of shader and texture. Bright dyes with certain inner glow will profit little more from reflection and postprocessing.
  20. I picked the light armor right away. The chest piece and its accompanying choker look lovely. I really like the skin in my main ele's mix and match set. Title is the Zodiac.
  21. She uses mainly Orchid set. I try to mimic the color she has: Purple Ice (pale purple), Sherbet (orange), Evening Wine and Cucumber/Green Apple (green).
  22. I think the hunch back is a physiological charm but it does pose a serious challenge in how the armor would fit. The back is broader, chest are less visible, knee shorter so any long skirts will look weird. The theme you mention is pretty vague, do you have any reference pictures? It doesn't have to be the same beastly race. Also if you reread this thread. I had a few examples. Are any of them to your liking?
  23. My guards are a bit less thematic than most others.
  24. I have 2 mesmers. One for damage specs and the other boon support. I play both regularly and I'm really proud of how they look and feel.
