  1. I think you are taking the word "attack" too literally. I was trying to say people often shift the focus from the main topic to the individual, especially on the internet, when they can't come up with a strong argument. I was discussing how gw2 subreddit tends to downvote game criticism, but you commented: where you redirected the conversation to me, turning it into a personal issue, as if I was just upset about my post being downvoted, instead of staying on the actual topic. You mentioned not seeing it, but from my observations over several months, most comments or posts discussing game balance, direction, or content were downvoted. Just like you said above, there were exceptions. 1. Posts right after a patch AND 2. Those that started with phrases like "I love this game but..." OR "Thanks to the devs for their great work, but..." tended not to get downvoted and sometimes even got upvotes. I don't think where were plenty of such threads though unless the devs really messed it up.
  2. Sure. If you can't find valid argument, attacking messenger is simple yet effective way to get the people's attention. In reddit, I think many of the posts/comments regarding balance issues like relics, boonball spam, deleting unique buffs and mechanics get downvoted alot. Also comments mentioning lack of contents in soto, how grindfest it is, abandoned competitive modes also goes against favor of reddit. But then again you are "Sobx" so I am just not gonna reply to you anymore...
  3. Normally when I visit other game Reddit forums, most of the posts are composed of gameplay recordings, ~20% complaining about the game, and very few random posts or questions. But in gw2 subreddit, there's an overwhelming number of posts from new or returning players, sales updates, and comparisons to other games, especially to WoW. The blatant praise for gw2 in these posts feels very off. It's like they are describing a perfect utopian society where everyone's happy, there's tons of content, and everything's perfectly balanced. But whenever someone tries to start a discussion about the game's existing problems, they get downvoted like crazy and the replies are usually just telling them to quit or take a break. I think this pattern kindda got more severe after EoD update.
  4. Apparently not. The quality of their update went down drastically after the layoffs. If only the people from different project got fired, it doesn't explain why their subsequent updates and expansions feel very hollow compared to PoF and HoT

  6. NO. the main reason why ppl quit wvw is because there is no content. (and partially balance patches that delete playstyles). It's as simple as that. Not a single game mode in the market can maintain population with same map, same rules, same npc + zero competitiveness for a decade.
  7. Many actually did. Most of them quit the game silently so you just never hear their complaints. Those who complain are minority.
  8. Most of the things you wrote were discussed before for many years. It just never happened. I don't think devs even consider any of the suggestions offered here as you can see from recent balance patches. Also it's not because they have different visions to wvw, but more like they have no intentions to put any resources onto wvw. The only updates that you will see in wvw is when: 1. New game with similar identity comes up: You will probably notice by now alliance beta events generally align with big game release dates. 2. They seem to throw some random events in competitive modes like experience boost day if they see too much uproar/dooming in community like reddit because of slow pve updates (dunno who would be having fun with that though). So overall it would be faster for you to just wait for another game that meets your favor and play that. They have already allocated their budget to whatever their yearly plan is and certainly WvW is not part of it. Also as a sidenote, BDO have launched wvw-like system recently.
  9. You get lured into thief's game you will lose. You fight a class with high mobility and stealth in open field where there's ton of space to run away you are at disadvantage. Same thing applies to builds like necros or dragonhunter where they get significant advantage in confined space. I now don't really see a point in discussing anymore. You will ask for nerfs no matter what and this stealth discussion has been ongoing for years although it got heavily nerfed. I hope anet realized by now that it's impossible to satisfy you until they delete one large aspect of the game. You can ask anet to delete whatever you dislike and it won't happen because anet rarely look at these careless suggestions anymore.
  10. Except mesmer and ele, every single class has 3 sec or more of reveal and guess what? you need to change your build to get it. ANd if you look DE and DD gameplay videos, 99% of the time enemies fight them in open field while chasing them one by one and of course thief will win no matter what because that is what thief is designed for. Seems like you have never even considered terrains, obstacles, blocks, reflects or even using your teammates. These things you should know if you are very dedicated in finding out how to counter thief. I don't care if you spend your whole day in wvw. Your time spent does not mean you should win more. The way you say it only tells that you just followed a tag blankly all day.

Sorry to say to you OP but ever since anet nerfed stealth duration to the ground and pretty much removed shadow meld so it can't remove reveal (now it's just a 2 sec stealth duration skill what a joke !), it is completely l2p issue. There are tons builds that hardcounters stealth w/ reveal and if you want "reveal" to be added to whatever build your are using then i have nothing to say lol. You see this is the reason why I partly understand anet's standpoint on current balance patches because previously so many people wanted anet to spoonfeed them without exploring other viable counters. Maybe this is also reason why anet is adding quickness and alac to all classes at the expanse of class identity because there are people who, like you OP, wanted those boons to be added to their favorite skills. Yes there were some builds that to my eyes were super oppressive but instead of crying at this forum, I actually played the build for myself and see how other good players counter it. So how about OP you play this crazy stealth build that you are having difficulty with and see for yourself? If whatever you are saying is right then feel free to post video. That way it is more likely to get nerfed
  13. It's years of nerfing that completely removed all the unique skills that each profession has. Devs should've never deleted the builds just because some loud people in forum or discord wanted them to. But they did and this is what they ended up with. Now the only build that I see across all specs in youtube or twitch looks like brawler build where you have to press as many buttons as you can to be "skillful". And yes it's very boring to watch or play. Devs have two options. Either; 1) Roll back the balance at least up-to warrior banner nerf patch. (Better if before 2020 feb patch) OR 2) Come up with new class identities and balance accordingly which I don't even expect it to happen on a team who decided to not release any new specs. EDIT: minor error
  14. I think it's more of the dev's problem? because people have been and will complain no matter what. It's the devs themselves who need to have balance philosophy and patch accordingly. If they think certain trait is getting a lot of complaints, then find the middle ground between those who like and those who don't, or if they really need to remove that, then devs needed to find out alternative good build to replace it. Well instead they just went easy way; just delete it and call it a day. Though must I say, this resulted in decimation of their own competitive modes AND even more requests to delete builds that players don't like.

  16. Funny how all the willbender players trying to defend wb exactly like other players in different specs before their fav builds got nerfed to the ground. I guess the cycle continues XD
  17. minor correction. It's only possible if d/p thief use up all utility skills&ini+full zerker+traits set up ONLY for damage+ perfect backstab before stealth runs out + enemy also full zerker. If that one backstab misses then the thief will lose the fight XD If anything above is not met, it's usually 5~7k damage which is about 30% ~50% of enemy health.

  19. I wish I would've recorded when I saw willbender carrying out 1 vs ~8 pug fight (and winning) few weeks ago. Again, I have no problem when a profession has such potential because who knows, I might find it interesting and play it some day. But too many profession got gutted out in the past by anet simply because they can do that. Don't worry though. From what I know anet doesn't seem to read their own forum that much. Only if they see this kinds of nerf request getting a lot of likes in reddit, then it is very likely to be deleted next patch.
  20. @TheGrimm.5624 Again, too late to say about this man. Where were you for last ~2yrs when stats were getting deleted in pvp. This is the trend anet decided for themselves. You gotta accept it :)
  21. No, but it just that it's willbender's turn to get nerfed. If devs have any of that in mind in terms of counterplay, then none of the nerfs would've happened. (even reworks.)

  23. Well Shadow meld change would've been fine if all damage+lower ini + high stealth duration was present during old days. Now that everything about deadeye got significantly nerfed, shadow meld change will put final nail in it's coffin. There are just too much reveal and damage it can handle. Deadeye is simply non-usuable in pve/pvp/wvw group fights even before the nerfs. It's only usage was RP or maybe wvw roaming? (I have seen maybe like 1 good solo roaming deadeye since 2020 feb patch). Personally I think this is worse patch than the last patch which almost reduced deadeye range from 1500 to 1200, but why would Anet care? as long as they please reddit and wvw forum, they would be happy. Regardless of this patch, I think overall devs are now much more relying on reddit/streamer/forum perception of balance. Too much deletions to core concepts of each specs which were vital in making the game fun.
  24. If it were a few years ago... maybe. But anet deleted/nerfed so many class characteristics without considering it's color and design. I felt like they were powerhouse that greatly contributed in making gw2 shine. Now all professions look like using same skills with different colors. The only profession that really deserved that much nerf was probably scourage which every commanders or party pvp wanted to use. Unfortunately gw2 now looks like one of those cheaply mass-produced, outdated mmo that you see every year. Devs really gotta rollback the balance a couple yrs ago OR come up with good ways to balance things.
