  1. I've been reading this thread and have a question about ReShade. I downloaded the program and had it find GW2, then I get to a list of effects to install. Standard Effects and SweetFX are preselected. Should I just leave those as is or do you have suggestions as to other options to choose?
  2. Paid? I'm the Charlie Brown of GW2. I got a rock.
  3. You never know what is new to someone. 🙂 Yes, D'oh! on the fingers.
  4. As Jeff Goldblum said in Jurassic Park, "Plush finds a way".
  5. I used to feel the same way until I found out three things... 1 - Adjust your view to look mostly down on the game. 2 - Use your left pinky to ring fingers on 1-4 and your right pinky fingers on 6-9 and tap away. 3 - The biggest game changer was finding out that you had to hit the correct note just after it passed the line. Previously I had been trying to hit just as it hit the line. So basically for years I had been misplaying it and would only get credit for what I thought were wrong hits. Try these and see if your opinion and enjoyment change.
  6. I see the Asurans getting into the Tyrian Medical Insurance Industry.
  7. I've only done DRMs (solo), but not a single dungeon. Ten done, and reward received on my alt, and two done one my main.
  8. I wonder how long it would to craft nearly 4.3 billion items? 🙂
  9. Personally, I think making the metas and bounties specific helps concentrate the player base. You know where the bulk of the people doing the dailies/weeklies are this way. So far I have only done one story play-through on my main and zero on my alt down in Cantha/EOD. Now I have been "forced" down there for some metas I had never played and it was fun. I don't like dungeons, so I don't do those or any other choice I don't feel like doing and still get all the rewards I'm after. Granted when activity rolls around I beam into LA, slog through it and move on. Max is seven minutes on Sanctum Sprint so it's not like I'm doing Dragonstorm or anything. As you mentioned this is a game and the dailies/weeklies are designed to get us to play the game. Granted some of the choices are easier/better/more fun than others, however, we can't always get the easiest/fastest/most fun choices.
  10. In addition to the mentioned /groan, I would like /kneepop. And while we're at it, how about a wheelchair chair and a "walker" chair to complete the look for us old folks?
  11. As I recall, gems don't go on sale from ANet per se. There are sales on gem CARDS at various retailers (Amazon) occasionally. But it's been a while since I recall seeing one. You also get a gem bonus by buying the ultimate version of an expansion (ie the additional cost of the expansion is less than the cost of the 4000 gems).
  12. Isn't it worth it, if you are not using any of the recipes in the wiki for stuff, to save the upgraded versions of the Halloween "trash" (1000x) for the next festival and use them at the weekly vendor for better stuff?
  13. I am a couple of weeks shy of 59. I've played very casually since beta and GW1 a couple of years before that. I never was able to play GW1 earlier due to where I lived only had dial-up internet access. I am not even close to being a hardcore player and probably the most casual of players, but due to having no life 🙂 I've been able to literally log in daily to GW2 since launch, with the exception of two of three weeks in the hospital (before I was well enough to use my laptop).
  14. I suck on the beetle and dislike using it, so I just use the raptor. It takes 1:25 or less per lap. True, I can not get gold for the time trial, but I get the daily time trial (silver and bronze) and the annual achievements done. I've even done more racing so I could get the weekly done due to less time due to work this week. This is absolutely not a complaint about the beetle or race, just my workaround for content I do not enjoy much.
  15. No, I never said, or meant, reverting a character back to level one. What I said, and meant, is to delete the character altogether. What I am looking for then is to save the name, which is a given for 24 hours when deleting a character. Then give us the unlocks, like bag slots. The only hard part, as I see it, and I'm sure I don't see it well, is the character age part. I'm only trying to preserve the stuff that was bought/earned on that individual character slot, even at a premium above a new character slot.
  16. Ok, so there seem to be many coding issues involved in having a character change class. What would be the negatives then of, for a gem store charge (perhaps even more than the cost of a new character slot), changing the character, back to level 1, with some caveats... Basically, completely delete the existing character and allow us to keep the name and character creation age and unlocks (like bag slots and unique items). I have several characters that I might like to play as a different class, but just as mules currently because of the bag slots on them.
  17. Mine have been mostly Crab Toss, a few Sanctum Sprint, and one Keg Brawl. Does seem to be weighted at this point towards the crab, at least in my case.
  18. I like the new system overall, but... Due to the limited objectives I like to do in PvP and WvW, I select the WvE options and am happy to do those for the daily/weekly. However, that means I no longer go into PvP or WvW at all. Why not open all objectives to player choice with the limitation that you can only do X number of objectives per day for AA. If there were objectives in the other modes I know I could reasonably accomplish in a reasonable amount of time I would pop back in from time to time. However limited time on work days forces me to choose PvE to assure myself of getting the daily in the time I have available.
  19. There are many requests by people asking for items to come back so they may purchase them. The reasoning as to why the items aren't up for sale constantly seems to be artificial scarcity/FOMO. An ok reasoning from a marketing perspective I guess. How about this as an idea... All items are always available with the following restrictions... 1 - All non-promoted/non-sale items are hidden. You must search for the specific name of the item you want, so there is no visual clutter in the store. No need for all kinds of search terms. This is for people looking for that long-wanted item, that doesn't roll around often. 2 - Put a premium price (+20%?) on these items. The people who don't want to wait could pay extra. 3 - Add an extra confirmation/check box that states that these items could become available/go on sale at any time and no refunds will be offered, thus eliminating CS tickets. This seems like a win-win proposition. ANet would get more money, as people would pay more for an off-season offering and people could get that coveted item without waiting forever for its return. Let the confused emojis commence and please tell me the flaws in this, as you see it.
  20. I thought only PVE was getting the extra daily choice not all types???
  21. Probably not until the next season. You can look at the time left in the SPECIALS tab in the WV to see a countdown with the number of days.
  22. Why not have an unlimited cap until the end of the season? Then you would have to spend all your AA down to 1300 before you can move on to the new rewards and begin accruing more AA in the new season.
  23. So I completed SOTO and did all the lore visits (talked to everyone, including Isgarren) in the final instance and completed that achievement. I have Secrets Obscured unlocked. However when I click on it, it shows the icon for List of Artifacts (saying I received the letter), but it is greyed out. Did I miss something? Please don't tell me I have to repeat the entire chapter ten. 😕
  24. I know there have been many posts over the years asking for a new playable race (Tengu for one). I know the answer has usually revolved around the ability to integrate them into the personal story arc. Has any thought ever been given, you think, to how they added one particular faction in Star Trek Online? In STO they added the Jem'Hadar basically already at nearly max level with a much smaller intro story for them. Perhaps this approach could be taken for an additional playable race. You would not have the option of selecting the new race until you have fully completed the personal story on at least one character on that account. Upon character creation you have a really small storyline to complete (maybe to select certain game choices retroactively), or if that is too resource intensive, just a cut scene explaining how you have come into the (playable) world. I think outfits and armor fitting new character models were also raised as a barrier to a new playable race. In the interest of a new race, why not just hand wave that away by saying the new race can only use certain new outfits and armor? I know this ruins the true Fashion Wars endgame, but could make it easier, in the future, to insert a new playable race into the game.
