  1. So many questions; Was and or Who vetted this decision? Is game design headed by a Type A that wants the world orderly? Has a seperate materials button been requested by players for years? Was making changes to the UI the best use of resources. .... Zet
  2. I do dailies most days. Doing them early in the game got me into WvW. That said I cringe a bit whenever I see the Ach notification. I do not receive the 10 points that it tells I just got. It was a rude awakening when I found out. Just seems cheesy, another of those "Anet, really?" moments,
  3. You are correct and wrong at the same time. It can't be denied that you feel cheated. Yet the BL chest mechanic works exactly the way it was designed. It worked for Anet to earn cash from you to support Anet. Anet seems content to live with the amount of ill will generated. Faulty expectations are sad all around.
  4. Spoons AND lint? OMG I love this game!!11!
  5. Or whenever you enter a map that has had revisions there would be a choice selection. Similar to Normal/Hard mode map selection in GW1. That said Anet would need to produce a totally new map and I don't see that happening.
  6. The way players behaved during Gaile's visits in GW1 made me embarrassed to be human. It wasn't everyone but who would want that crap in their life? Who would want a job that included 1000's of angry people complaining the the game wasn't the way they wanted it? The way it looks Anet has decided to let Marketing make announcements and support handle problems. Simple and cost effective. May not the best CR policy but I'd bet it's cheaper
  7. Well it wasn't listed in supports known issues so I generated a ticket. Least I don't need to reload game.....
  8. I'd love to see a remastered/reworked GW1. I don't think it will happen. As mentioned earlier at what point do you limit "improvements"? Do you update movement to include jumping? I know Anet would love to disable point and click movement (it makes bot movement easier). Do you include any features from GW2; TP, dye system. gliding, mounts, rez system, multiple currencies, Magic Find....? One misstep that Anet made was not finding a way to create an environment similar to Pre in GW2. Pre was and appears still to be a very popular feature in GW1. But we'll probably never see a remade GW1, one of the traps with reminiscing is we forget the warts, standing around a city trying to sell something and having little idea of the value, shouting for hours the items you hoped to sell, the MM that warped out leaving his minions to turn on the party, the over eager Wammo who needed constant rezzing....

  10. What is truly odd is that it's my opinion that the OP asked an invalid question, yet can answer at great length. The OP might have better asked; "Why don't I like the armors of GW2?" A large number of the armors are the same model. Slightly modified and retextured. Thus we get oh so many long coats.A decision was made that modesty was desired. So no "scar armors", no bikini or loin cloth armors. So some of the standard (and expected) styles of armor are missing.Less distinctive armors. In GW1 you could tell a characters profession by the armor worn. GW2 has only 3 types of armor. (hopefully we are past getting banned for mentioning GW1)As stated previously a small bit of dissatisfaction with stock armors would hopefully nudge players to the Gem Store. The game does have a Gem Store centered economy.I'm not sure that stating that Anet has bad designers is a fair statement. Many of the issues above are accounting decisions. Good design can overcome some restrictions, but deadlines are deadlines. Perhaps saying we have cheap armor may be a better view. I am glad that we've past the "more spikes are better" period, and we seem to have hit a peak of smoldering fire effects. I just wonder if we are coming into a cycling ball/particle phase? Solutions? Probably not spend more money. I suspect that outfits were tried as a solution, but don't see that many in game. Does clunky armor ruin my game experience? No, but it is just one more of the issues that come to mind when I see alternative games available. I still play the game, I still tell myself I'm having fun. - Zet
  11. Came to see if they had fixed the bug and found pages of bickering over semantics. Odd what some folk do for entertainment. Be back after next update.
  12. Bought two outfits. I won't be buying anymore. I consider it the Ronco version of armor.
  13. The problem (one of the problems) with Luck and Anet putting them into the wallet is that they first have to acknowledge the issue/problem. After they acknowledge it players will want them to find secondary uses for them. This dialog has been repeated for years. I worked at getting maximum Magic Find and got it 3+ years ago. All the discussions about how players end up with stacks and of exotic is just background noise. Players have reached maximum Luck and now have nothing to do with it. Luck is a currency with one use. From a design standpoint it just seems sloppy, a lack of foresight. Anet seems to have learned that new currencies need multiple uses and as it controls the economy with evermore currencies there seems to be no similar issues. I have 120 stacks of Exotic Luck. I had a good time working on MF, it taught me how to make gold on the TP. I continue to collect Luck although at a slower rate. I know one of two things will happen - Anet won't do anything or Anet will do something. If it is an eater I certainly hope it isn't a "kill 10 rats" on steroids collection.
  14. What? You've made a blind assumption. It's my belief that the most important parts of gameplay were left behind. We disagree. I spent 7 years playing Guild Wars 1. I was not hoping for "a new game just like the old game". But what we got was a watered down version of Guild Wars, with jumping and a Gem Store. If you have any doubts, I ask you how'd you do in your last GvG match?
  15. Two thoughts.I'd like to see GW3 only if they reworked the professions and went back to builds. I thought dual professions was a defining feature of Guild Wars. Guild Wars 2 has felt like MMO Light since release. The change made a game that was easier to run and manage just sadly less fun. So basically it was an improvement for Anet and not the player base. Secondly I'd pay full price for Guild Wars 1 revamped with jumping, Trading Post and (ugh) Gem Store. I miss Pre, Droks runs, Black Dyes and Heros. Yes, yes there would be complications - shut up - I'm just saying. There would be a market for new players to go back and work on GW1 titles. Anyway just my thoughts.
  16. Most likely what you are seeing is an alt char logging in harvesting the node then logging out.
