  1. It is normal i would say but like Jun said it really is a waste unless you're having a really high commitment toward the game or hobby of having that many characters it won't hurt at least but to gear them up with full ascended is....a lot of works. I myself having 11 chars and it already worn me out trying to gear 4 of them with full ascended, so i decided to switch to a more "suitable" approach. It is similar to what Jun said above, what i'm using is Perma Bank Access, it is expensive but with a little bit more effort to unlock bank tabs and shared-inventory slot you can put every single piece of gear in bank then put bank in shared-inven. This way every char on your account will be able to access bank anywhere anytime, freely switch gears. builds, stuffs in and out. Or just using normal bank is enough, just a bit annoying to go all the way to the bank. For example i'm playing ranger so i will make 3 ascended leather set, let says zerker for power dps, viper for condi dps, Harrier or something for healing, put them all in bank. If it happens on a whim i want to play engi or thief, i have everything sitting in the bank because they are all use the same armor type. Easier to track your stuffs rather than having 20 chars. Or just make a full zerker set of each armor type (Heavy/Medium/Light) and done. But if you truly want to do as you said then i would suggest keep it at Exotic level, unless you value min max. You never know when you will run into a situation where current build you using will screw you up and unable to swap character, having everything setup and ready for anything in one bank is what worked for me. With that said, having multiple char do have it advantages like Living World currencies farming, Fashions etc.
  2. There are a few tricks to this. First 50% won't make any difference but most exp booster has kill streak as a bonus which will boost further in total of 150% if you can maintain 10 stacks bonus. Second is to find more available exp boost sources within the game like // guild buff (10%) // Celebration Booster (100% From Kill) // Cheap foods (10% to 15%) // Cheap utility items (10% to 15%) // Banner (10% This is extra and not needed). All of this can boost your exp gained to 300%, that mean by killing just a few trash mob around the world you can gain more or equal amount of exp of one heart quest. This is more or less like power level by grinding mobs, i gained nearly 40 levels just by running around killing stuffs in 2 hours. The weird thing is it seems when you kill a mob spawned in a certain place for the first time, you get like double or may be triple the amount of exp, the second you do this, the amount of exp will be reduced by a lot so run around the map and avoid grinding in one place, killing same mob over and over again, if you ran out of places/stuffs to murder then go a head and switch map. You probably don't want to consume booster at the first 20 levels because 1 to 15 is pretty fast and another 5 level couldn't hurt, i usually use mine after 31 when i have elite skill unlocked but that just me. Change gears every 10 level, once you hit 50, head to Iron Marches and grind there (thats my fav leveling map, just me tho). Another thing is crafting while you have exp boost, level a job from 1 - 400 will get you like 11 character levels, i tend to do cooking it is fast and cheapest way to gain 10 level in exchange for 5 gold. Don't bother with WvW/PvP while during leveling progress but your 80 can have some fun while getting tomes.
  3. Rather than have a new one, i would pretty much want to see an option to pick and switch to previous selection screens that we had over the past years.
  4. Well ranger is perfectly fine but if you want to play as a condi Soulbeast it going to be a bit harder for tagging mobs in general due to damg threshold and everything tend to die before your condi can deal any harm. However Axe/Torch and Shortbow with piercing trait plus viper gear should be fine since axe main-hand can stacks up mights. There isn't much to say about WvW because every time i roam 8 out of 10 cases it going to be a ranger, most of them are power, rarely seen a condi spec running around but that doesn't mean its bad, still can't find a good way to deal with them myself so i ended up losing whenever i ran into one. They are good in raid but just in case you might want to prepare a healing set, condi dps is good as well so no worries. Just visit gw2style.com/index.php and find your own fav race, its really hard to suggest anything because everyone has their own sense of fashion.
  5. Sadly condi war in PvE will suffers from being fragile since the time they took away our normal burst, no matter what you do its still being fragile, slot in defense and use rabid might help a bit but it still far off behind power build in term of survival. I've learnt this the hard way trying to compare my burnzerker with firebrand and condi renegade. While FB has so many way to quickly access burn, apply massive AoE burning within seconds and have to a lot of sustain going on at the same time, Rev otherwise has Torment rune to back them up, this rune provide so much healing and rev itself can apply a ton of torment within seconds. Our war put everything in short period of time during zerker mode, mess up is fatal. But this style is challenging and fun, live up to its name Berserker so this is something we must accept. Speaking strictly only for pve roaming, where you find yourself alone, knight is much better than zerker mainly because spellbreaker with defense trait line + Might Make Right + Healing Signet are your main sources of healing and that extra toughness from knight works perfectly well with HP regen and this is also common sense in gw2, toughness works better with regen rather than having high vitality. Right now i'm using Lord Hizen spellbreaker build, you can find him on youtube. What this build does is basically you having the same amount of power as berserker gear, same amount of precision, less ferocity but your armor rate is around 3.7k in full ascended gear with knight armors, assassin weapons, knight mixes with cavalier trinkets. This is a very durable build specific only for open world roaming, solo content, stories, the dps sure is behind berserker but what can you do if you're dead ? - ( i'm kidding, you waypoint and get back at it like a warrior :p )
  6. I cannot add anything else for others already did more than enough, except speaking from my personal experience about rev. Rev is my main and i can only say this class is a mess to master for new player due to energy and cooldown mixed playstyle. It only get worse even at high level. You have energy > all useful skill on cooldown > youre dead. You have powerful skills off-cooldown but don't have enough energy > you die.But surprisingly Rev is among the most durable class in the game and i found myself staying alive the longest while im on Rev in any solo content. Speaking only in solo scenario and open world roaming, Rev with both elite specs is a full packet to begin with, nice dps, very high self sustain not to mention 2 heal skills, extremely powerful CC especially with Renegade, instant 25 might stacks, the easiest class in the game able to hit 100% crit chance without trading off gear, utilities, medium HP pool, a crap ton of boons. For leveling it is fine to use a staff but keep in mind that staff is an utility weapon on rev which mean it doesn't deal much dps but instead you have a minor heal, block, blind, and a powerful #5 CC, staff is good when you 1vs1 with something that has breakbar, mostly champ. It kind sucks in 1 vs many so hammer can do a better job. This is a temporary build for leveling if you struggle to survive gw2skills.net/editor/?PmxAwyZlxQHMPyh1RNMO6hRSfMCKgF/lOA-eUnlock Devastation line as soon as possible, then Retribution at level 45. The tip to stay alive is Vengeful Hammers, DO NOT face roll anything but instead run around in circle, by doing this you can proc the passive heal from Assassin's Annihilation more often and also the more targets you hit the more heal you get, just get moving, avoid rooted at one place especially the front.Don't bother with elite skills unless there is no other way because they cost too much energy consumption.Another thing is food, please check this link and find yourself some cheap food, especially auto HP regen food. The amount of heal might be small but constantly every second. If you can't afford them just return here and ask, i will send you enough food to last until level 80. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Food#Health_Regeneration
  7. Hi welcome back. I would answer the 3rd question first, visit gw2style.com/index.php and decide the race you want to be, it doesn't matter and have any huge impact on gameplay in general so just go with your heart.Since you want to participate in fashion then i going to suggest few classes of each armor type.Light Armor : I recommend necro as your first class to relearn the game, strong in solo play, high demand in WvW, decent in frac, a bit of raid but not so much.Light Armor : Mesmer, this one might be a pain to level up but assuming you have both expansion then i would pick mesmer over necro cuz the fun and pretty much viable in any game mode. For solo it a bit tricky but with mirage you can be like an evasive god.Medium Armor : Thief, this one is strong in solo due to high HP regen while attacking, good in WvW roaming but not so much in large scale fight, very good in frac and raid.Medium Armor : Ranger, kinda self explanatory, pet tank, safe distance, good for sniping in WvW, have both healer and dps role viable in raid/fractal, high demand healer.Heavy Armor : Warrior, can't go wrong with war tho, easy to play, viable in anywhere and quite on high demand as well, very tough and durable in solo play, downside is melee most of the time.Heavy Armor : Revenant, tho this one kind of a mess but for solo contents i would go rev over guard, because you have multiple ways to heal and regen effectively while not having to trade off your gears. High demand in WvW, doing "ok" in frac and raid.Guard is a special case, tho this one is in high demand everywhere in the game, i myself found most new players struggle to stay alive when they are alone. It has high dps as well as healing role. If you find yourself will be alone most of the time then other classes i've mentioned above can do better. So to put it plainly as long as you like some thrilling and challenging, go guard.Sorry for the long post, since Fashion Wars is really depend on personal taste, nobody know which armor type is most appealing to you so suggestions kinda all over the place.
  8. There are 2 minor branches within PvE mode : Open World/Story and Raid/Fractal and builds can change very differently depend on which mode you are playing. For OW/Story i usually use the Boon Berserker on meta battle, its pretty decent and durable build, the build use GS - Dagger/Warhorn but you can swap GS with LB.Raid/Fractal just visit snowcrows.com because i've never used my ranger in there.
  9. Sylvari is in a rare sight for me, but seeing how next season/saga is heading to i would say make a charr or norn for extra/changes in some dialogues during the story, just like the sylvari during HoT and human or some other races during PoF and LW. I reroll a charr rev the other day my self :) . Well ofc you can pick whatever if story is not your favorite.
  10. While waiting for Icebrood Saga it seems we also have Angry Birds Saga going on all over the forum. Please if you want to voice out frustrations keep them in a single thread. Just please stop flooding the forum.
  11. Please if you want to voice out your frustrations keep it in one single thread, don't turn this forum into "Angry Birds Saga".
  12. I get how you feel right now because every time balance patch hit something will be missed, mostly will be our fun way to play the class. As for my Reg build please ignore that because with the recent changes i too can't find my self enjoy it any longer although the heal element is still there and DPS somewhat slightly better. The build has lost its fun due to UA being replaced with CoA and the ETD forced me into 100% melee range with a dark field which i very much dislike. Right now i'm just sticking with Lord Hizen spellbreaker build, its strong and having access to a lot of dodges make it somewhat feels like playing a thief with heavy armor. Down side is melee...yeah nothing really perfect but hey atleast i'm having fun. At the end of the day being what you want to be rather than being what others tell you to be is what matters. on a side note i think thief is a good one, nice pick btw and make sure you have fun.
  13. Hello, to add up to your question ( For Jahai Bluff only). Yes you need to redo heart each day in order to access vendor however they only sell Lump of Mistonium once per day per character which mean 15 in total each day per character. You can also get extra Lump by mining Mistonium node around the map but the cap would be around 40 to 50 a day if im correct, this one is account-wise.Hunting Rift that appears across the map will also reward you with 5 lumps per rift but the cap would be 5 rifts so thats another extra 25 lumps, this one is per character per day. In case you don't know, Rift is the massive purple dome, very easy to spot, there are 5 locations, take sometimes and learn the route. Rift spawns constantly one after another but some are fake spawn, if you encounter fake rift it will despawn when timer is up and another rift will pop at others location. Rift scales alot so becareful, the more players are around the more powerful mobs will be and takes longer to finish. Best would be solo but only if you're able to.Complete meta event like death-branded shatterer, escort Ziya and kill Vemyen, race event etc will also gives 5 lumps per event, character-wise i think, not sure tho.And final, map completion in Jahai Bluff will give 50. Note that Sandswept Isle and Domain of Kourna map completion will only give you 5 currency so not worth it in general. All and all the more level 80 character you have the faster you will get it done.
  14. If you just want a build for running around the world alone, doing stuff with your own pace then i suggest look up Lord Hizen One Man Army build for spellbreaker, it works perfectly fine even with exotic and you can't go wrong with that amount of toughness and power. The build is still seem to be in good shape after balance patch, still using this one as my "slacking" build for one in a while.
  15. I miss the old day when EoTM is still a thing and training ground, zergling there sometimes can be pretty fun. Only if Anet consider fixing EoTM, gives it some sort of unique reward i think it would become an old style WvW without mounts, glider(?).
  16. A small tip, Bank Wardrobe let you view all available skin in game. Find the skin you need then google its name or type /wiki name and the game will brings you straight to the wiki page of that item.
  17. Dead link. Copy and Paste the link, hope they fix the forum soon :p
  18. Let this be a small reminder, GW and GW2 are completely different game, don't try to compare, please. So you've showed a bunch of picture at random time and said the game is dead, do i really have to bring up the L2P issue here ?. Ok ima help you learn something, It's how this game works since the first xpack, ppl don't care about LFG unless there are meta going on and do you know what meta is ?. The short version, Meta is something happens at a certain time frame that ton of players will join in and you can hardly able to get into the right map.I've been playing this game for almost 5 years and during these 5 years not a single time i saw LFG being "active", yeah its exactly the same like in of those pictures of yours for 5 years until now, but hey we're still alive. The only reality i see here is you unable to complete/finish what you want then get frustrated and forced your point of view on to others, if you really read what others had said and thought a bit then i bet the differ. You need help, please try to find a guild. There also is a refund policy, read it if you think you have wasted 60 euros like the other thread of yours then by no means do it but i don't think you can anymore tbh. So why not just enjoy yourself ?.
  19. Hi how is your guard doing ? I hope you are doing geat. But there is a slight confusion in your statement so you are new or a returning player ? If its the second case i bet you might have to explain it a bit due to all the helps you got on other thread you made not long ago.But to your case, yes i do agree with you VB is kinda on and off but it by no mean empty. VB meta required alot of efforts to make right so no one really doing it these days except few guilds group.LFG is the last resource i choose if it comes to find someone to play with and there is a system called "Guild" you know ? And you can join up to 5, i currently have 4 so i never ever found myself in the situation like you. Join a guild, make friends.PoF is explorable mode for gw2 and it was so since lauched, again find a guild, make friends and play with them thats how gw2 suppose to be played. If this is different than other mmos you've encountered, well keep trying and learn. Lastly, please stop blaming the game, 15 days into the game and pronounced the game "dead" is really reckless.
  20. Its actually game's fault. Nowhere else in the world, when you spend 60 euros on game, you can't play what you actually bought. No my friend, everybody can but you. What exactly do you want to play anyway ? The game offered you a choice of take it slow and take a shortcut. You made yours. now you blaming the game. Taking a shortcut is a double edged sword. Again, what exactly have you expected to get/play ?The 5 days restriction is a way to protect the game from gold sellers etc and you could've spent that 5 days to learn more about the game, the class. Even if you boosted and struggled like i said, simply ask instead of complain everyone will kindly help you out and that they did.
  21. The new Malyx rework let you heal alot with just one push of EtD plus torment rune, its a shame that UA is gone. I'm still missing the feeling of tossing UA in a group of mob and run away watched them melted.
  22. I'm sorry but this is really more or less about L2P and do you know that everyone on the forum will always willing to help you learn ?, all you need is just explain the situation and ask for a build/a way to improve your experience instead of complaining and blaming the game. You are very lucky that someone still nice and send you appropriate gears and even still sticks around to defend you. In case you wonder i did completed HoT story once with soldier gear on my guard and it surprisingly felt more ease and less pressure than in full dps gear. Here is the build i used ( Copy and Paste, don't click directly cuz the forum is bugged atm) gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAR7elsAhChYxQwKIQQEH3DV+KGxT0WBtbhWPgAIdB-jRCBwA61MoSHA19HUY+Ln6PBeCATUCC4iAcU5HA-e Although some traits was nerfed not long ago but i think this will still be a decent for new player. Plus extra food you should carry all time https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scoop_of_Mintberry_Swirl_Ice_Cream and/or https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tropical_Peppermint_Cake The build works fine even with full dps gear but you will have to stay focus because there won't be any toughness/vitality there.
  23. Can't say i hate the new malyx, certainly less skill to put in rotation but that pull eats up too much energy to the point i felt like being punished if i use it. Most dps now more or less relies on EtD and i'm now totally have to fight in melee range and losing some kite tactics due to UA being reworked to CA not to mention i've already got quite a few complains about that dark field.
  24. Here you go, i've been using this one for a very long time, if you want a high-tec paladin this one is for you plus can deal decent dps too.https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Holosmith_-_Protection_Sword/Shield You can use rune of vampirism as cheaper alternative to durability rune. Once you get a hang of it move on to static sword/shield build for more dps out put.
