  1. How can you have less cleave than hammer when you are using the dps skills of hammer?? If you have the hammer weapon equipped now, you press F5 like you do now and you have access to the dps in the exact same way, it's exactly the same thing. It's an improvement for when you do not equip hammer to be able to use the hammer dps skills on demand. Imagine you have longbow and axe/warhorn equipped, how having access to hammer dps skills when you are in need of melee dps not an improvement? How is it that pressing F5 after using GS2 to use a dps skill and go back to GS5 to GS2 again then F5 to dps again not an improvement?
  2. I don't see what you mean. True, i just wanted to bring an improvement to core or at least druid but whatever i deleted it's not important. I mean is it better to have nothing when you are not playing hammer than having the dps part of the weapon available as F5 regardless of which weapon you use. A 3rd weapon on demand is an improvement, is it not?
  3. Hello guys, Since Untamed fails to meet the expectations we had for Ranger in WvW, I had an idea for a rework i would like you to consider. I want to reduce the reliance of that specialization on the link between F5 and ambushes by changing the mechanic without touching too much the gameplay. 1/ Unleashed Ambushes: Now works on weapon swap instead of F5, adjusting the CD to 9sec. 2/ F5: Make it work so it still affects cantrip utilities and traits but not ambushes. Make it a kit that gives access to the 4 "Unleashed Hammer" skills regardless of the weapon set equipped and not just hammer. It gives more options in melee and we don't have to worry about one weapon defining the sole design of the e-spec and simply being a more survivable ranger without it.
  4. I agree with the baseline weapon swap so discipline is not mandatory anymore but why do you want to improve the rest?
  5. When are you going to make sure Powerful Aura is not the go to trait in water? Unstable Conduits: make auras on overloads 5 targets Cleansing water: Increase from 1 to 2 Smothering auras: Reduce cleanse on transmute from 2 to 1 Rock solid: Increase stab and radius. This way Tempest has more options between water/eath/fire. It gives more weapon choices between staff, warhorn, OH dagger and focus is only the go to support weapon in gvg instead of most of the time in wvw. EDIT: Aftershock and Eye of the Storm Pve's boons buff would be appreciated in WvW. Not only i'm not a fan of splitting mechanics in different game modes but having the possibility to drop those minstrel firebrands full of stab and having a choice of a more aggro comp if we want to would be amazing. I think you need to reduce the number of hits to trigger Virtues from 5 to 3. As it stands it will always come after every other melee dps in WvW. Adding stab on Glyph of Equality in every gamemode would be nice. I don't think we need the condi cleanse on this skill with the amount at our disposal on everything else.
  6. No but they should make it a trait in BM or NM. Remove it from Untamed, remove pet swap and add a second IA pet to truly be untamed. 😃
  7. Well none of my propositions increase boonshare. Anet changed its mindset when it comes to sharing quickness and alacrity. Since every class will provide them in time, maybe none will provide a safeproof 100% duration and we will have to take 2 Quick Dps to make up for it. Hard to say before June patch. Yes Tempest use auras as a catalyst for boon share and heal, whilst Catalyst use auras to self buff and boonshare from Sphere. Since they can both cleanse allies with Powerful Aura (Water) and Smothering Aura (Fire) it overlaps too much for a specialization. Anet basically just switched the "area of effect" without much effort. A 2nd weapon set would definitely be nice, feel different and force you to stay longer in one attunement to fit the thematic but it doesn't solve the energy "problem", nor the "identity crisis".
  8. I do agree with energy but you are talking about improving augments by changing their effect. Catalyst sole purpose is to focus on one attunement at a time. By reducing Elemental Celerity to 60s in WvW/PvP Anet reinforced that but it's not enough. Catalyst provides an aura for every combo extending their appliance so it's more than just the usual theme, it's the main mechanic of the spec. So Anet could: - Reduce the cooldown on Elemental Epitome to pulse even more auras - Make augments behave the same way with any field from their respective element, not just sphere without changing how they work. - Give Catalyst the ability to weapon swap to get more auras or fields directly.
  9. No the problem comes from Tempest and Catalyst being thematically and mechanically too close from one another by focusing on their current attunement and auras. The fact that the first is more altruistic and the second personal isn't enough of a difference.
  10. Anet want us to give Catalyst with Relentless Fire a go.
