  1. ArenaNet...can we get a response to this? Is the issue in hand, is there an eta for a fix? The work around detail kindly posted by others unfortunately does not work for me. As soon as I press 'Play', the C skill displays and immediately disappears regardless of when I press my C button. When I've gone around the course (not using the C skill because it doesn't exist for me), it doesn't show I've completed the race but instead, the checkpoints reappear. About 1/3 of the way around the course, one of the checkpoints won't clear which totally stops me progressing. The only way I can reset the race is by leaving Lion's Arch. :'(
  2. Update...got in, then game disconnected nearly straight away. And now I can't log back in.
  3. Howdy..EU Seafarer's Rest here...can't log in either. Any info as to when this will be resolved?
  4. I'm disappointed that ANet kept the map currency and charged quartz requirements a secret. I've got less than half of what is required in 4 of the currencies. Maybe next time requirements that can't be bought or sold on the TP could be revealed in a manner that won't spoil any un-veilings.
  5. QoL for Soulbeast - in Soulbeast mode: Soulbeast is dropped and pets swapped to the one in the top pet slot with map changes. If it isn't possible to keep Soulbeast form with map changes, can the pet swapping be stopped?
  6. Howdy...I'd like to request that corresponding materials storage slots be created for existing crafting mats currently in game and in future, are included with new crafting materials as they are added into the game. Crafting materials I have currently without a materials storage spot:Wintersday GiftsMug of EggnogAscalonian Royal IrisesShining Jade Orchid PetalsKodas Blossom PetalsKrytan Spiderwort BloomsLumber Cores I created a thread (before I realised this one was here) so if anyone has any more mats, let me know and I'll add them to the list. To keep from spamming this thread, PM me.

  8. We are a PvX guild on SFR with 35 members on the roster. Some of them have been AWOL for many months, others have zero interest in WvW. A handful of us, 3-5 at most, play WvW. 1 of those 3 is on Desolation and is also part of a much larger WvW guild. We've been looking forward to Alliances so that we could WvW with our friend. If the overall guild size factors into WvW Alliances, how will it take into account guilds where only a fraction of the players are active in WvW? I wanted to mark our guild as WvW because we have the majority of the Guild Hall WvW upgrades completed, but based on the information I've read so far, I'm not so sure I should. We want to continue rep'ing our own guild in WvW and use our guild WvW items -can we do that, without tagging ourselves as an alliance, and still WvW with our friend (rather than against which is how it is now) so long as he is also rep'ing our guild?
  9. PvP already has a reputation for being saltier than than the Don Juan Pond or Dead Sea. For example, our guild hall progress is stalled because we need the PvP pots. Getting our butts handed to us over and over again and name called by angry players is not our idea of fun. We did do it for a few of the upgrades in our hall - we just can't face having to do more so we are not. For those that would say to us 'git gud then', that is easier said then done. Some blessed players have the gift of good eye hand co-ordination and lightening reflexes - for those that don't, some game modes are just beyond frustrating. Mad King's Jumping Puzzle anyone? Now if there was an option for Gift of Battle to be earned through either PvP or WvW, that would be cool and would likely make PvPrs happy if they are wanting to craft legendary weapons. But to require PvP for a legendary in addition to map completion and WvW, that would lock quite a few out of that content, myself included. It isn't a matter of me not wanting it bad enough. It is me not wanting to spend my time in such a toxic environment. WvW is already to some degree, a bit toxic and elitist and so what someone said about not feeling welcome, I totally agree. 2/3 of the time the map has commanders running on closed tags. And the majority of those that are running on open tags want you to be on Discord - if you won't join discord, then you can't be in the squad. The chat on discord can be sexist and gross so I choose to stay outside a squad and either scout, defend or flip camps. Profession matters when joining squads as well. Rangers are not at all welcome - and that is my main. For a game that is designed to embrace diversity and let you play how you want to play, it can be frustrating when WvW commanders dictate the terms of your participation. Having said that, the GoB is attainable and fairly quickly through the WvW reward track. You can progress it without joining a squad though it may take a bit longer depending on how your server world is doing against the other worlds. TLDR; I'm fine with the current system, no, just no, to making PvP participation a legendary requirement. It already is a requirement for some of the guild hall upgrades and because of it, our guild hall remains unfinished. Making PvP part of the legendary requirements along with GoB & GoE would just increase the existing toxicity among PvP players.
  10. I agree with a lot of the comments that have been made so far and thank you for asking the community for their input. I'm a veteran - playing since Beta. There is so much about this game that sees me logging in nearly daily - impossible to cover in a 60 second video. I think trailers similar to what we saw in vanilla GW2 that show combat is definitely important. Showing the mounts as they are dismounted in the middle of mobs - shows they are not just purely quality of life but do give a sort of 'opening strike' which is different to mounts in other MMOs that I have played (e.g WoW & Rift). Quotes from players - those don't carry any weight at all with me. Quotes from well known established streamers that not only stream GW2 but other games as well - that in my humble opinion carries a bit quite a bit more weight. Quotes from well known and well circulated gaming publications - that would carry more weight with me too. Something that includes 11 million players in the mention...shows that it is a game very much alive and well over 5 years later. Perhaps a fast moving montage from the GW2 beginnings through to the evolution of the game into the present day...ending with the various purchase options - F2P for original, etc.
  11. So after the past few days of reading and occasionally responding to posts in the GW2 forums, my thoughts are this: if the rage and disgust that has been expressed in the GW2 forums and elsewhere regarding Pixel Pony Paintgate were channelled into a force for good in the resolution of say actual world problems...like violence, clean water, sanitation, hunger and basic healthcare, imagine how much better the world might be for everyone. Someone actually said yesterday that MO should burn in hell. Over pixels in a make believe world. Mind boggling.
  12. Didn't experience dc's, however my friend and I encountered another very frustrating issue with PoF story chain. If you accidentally ventured outside the zone (we are talking just stepping over the boundary lines) you were immediately kicked from the instance as soon as the warning message popped. Very unforgiving that way and not just a little bit frustrating. I can't remember it being like that with any other story. In previous stories you'd get the warning and you'd be given a few seconds to move your character back into the zone. With PoF, no such grace period.
  13. I've wanted this too, especially for quest/loot finding items. I'd probably remember to do my foods more often if they were in my face on the UI. A great QoL suggestion. Taking it one step further, I would like to see two bars; one that is character specific and the other bar working in the same way as the shared inventory slots. The user can turn one or both bars on or off, can adjust the size of the bars and place them where they like on the UI. That would be very cool in my world. :D EDITED to improve clarity. Wanted to add that there could be a save UI profile option for each character - this would allow bars to be in different places on the UI for each character and take away the annoyance in having to continually move your bars to suit how you play a specific profession. EDIT 2 - because I just keep thinking of stuff and don't want to add a fresh post. UI profile option for each character - if the players wants to use the same layout as another of their characters, provide an option for loading a character profile to use as a template. They can then save as normal. So I want to use my character Jane Doe's UI layout for my character Plain Jane, I select it and then save as Plain Jane - not overwriting Jane Doe's. To prevent the UI menu from becoming to unwieldy, use drop down menus for saved UI profiles. I have over 15 characters so this would be perfect for me.
  14. Additional colour channels for mount skins - Two Tiered Bundles based on the basic mount models: Tier 1 is two channels for x-gems, Tier 2 is four channels for x-gems. And if ArenaNet can't really offer a four channel for the basic mounts because it might make too big a dent their mount skin sales in general, please think about a two channel option. With regard to the Griffon...aside from the time put in and occasional frustration with respawn rates & harsh multiple cc's which caused death far too quickly at times - there was in my world a significant gold investment in acquiring it. To me the status ranks higher than the raptor, springer, skimmer and jackal. As such, it would be great if it was more customisable with 2 or even 3 dye channels. Perhaps the same model with additional dye channels could be sold for a nominal gem price in the gem store or offered as a freebie?
  15. Overall love the art, maps, music, new creatures in PoF and the addition of mounts has benefited me in old Tyria when doing map completions. Bonus! Downsides for me: not all story chapter achievements can be completed if you're in a party and you're not the chapter owner. Would like the new maps to be a bit more explorer friendly. Not suggesting ezmode by any means but would like to see a reduction in aggro range and an increase in mob respawn timers. Often I was mobbed by multiple mobs with CC - died a lot, hugely frustrating. Of particular note: a set of bleached bones in the desert of the first PoF zone - as you try to collect them it spawns a veteran and two friends. Kill them, go for the bones again - immediately spawns the same mobs. Rinse-repeat. If there was a trick to that one, haven't figured it out and still don't have that pile ticked off in my achievements.
  16. Can we have some armor skins again please? I like to mix and match my attire and miss being able to do so. I might be motivated to purchase more skins if they were not all locked into outfits that can't be mixed and matched. :)
  17. I was pleased to see that we'd had a response from ArenaNet as questions that I had were answered. However, MO's statement has not persuaded me to change my mind regarding my choice to not play the RNG game with the block of 30 mount skins. Going forward if the price is going to remain 2k gems for individual mount skins, I think it unlikely that no matter how much I liked it, I probably won't be buying it. With regard to themed skins, I hope that ArenaNet will give players a choice with which they purchase and not stick them in a bundle like the Halloween Skins. The only one of the 5 I really liked was the Raptor because it was one that could be used all year round. However I couldn't justify the 1600 gems for the pack since there was only 1 I'd use.
  18. Can we see a return of the Storm Bow Longbow skin? I missed it the first time around...a friend has it and OMG...how awesome is that?!
  19. Of course I like this game, that's why I'm ticked off that the reason I bought this xpac was gated behind 'gamble or pay a further $120 for a limited time to get the skin you want'. I already paid for the ultimate edition, why was this not included, if they were that desperate for cash? OK. First of all. Anet never promised Mount Skins with the expansion at all. I can't recall a single marketing device that stated mounts would even have skins. So you can't claim that first point. You bought PoF as it was advertised. Second of all, if they indeed are "strapped for cash" then why would they include something for free in a package that you bought without them including it? You see how that's silly right? (I still feel like most of you need business lessons ... "making money" isn't enough when you have bosses and investors and boards of directors) Now let me ask you something. Would you have bought PoF if they announced there would never be any mount skins? If you still would have, then just go ahead and pretend there aren't any mount skins. Boom. Have fun! Responses like yours are pretty much cementing my resolve never to spend a dime on ANet again, because they have enabled and encouraged this disingenuousness and condescension. Thanks for saving me money! Does logic often resolve you to not spend money in other realms? Or is logic just toxic to you in video games? People need to stop thinking with their hearts. This is a very emotional reaction to a very logical decision. And anyone who is against Anet trying to make more money, please work next week for free at your job. And never, ever ask for a raise. Lest you be yet another "greedy kitten", eh? Pretty kitten sure, that as consumers we have every right to have (and should have) a say and push back on whatever it is we're consuming. Lest we just bend over every time and say "Okay, they need the money - take it" @primatos.5413 said:kitten why are they allowed to sell somehing to 12 year old people anyway ? Make Game 16+ at least and say what u want .. it is a Gamble System and everybody knows There was a recent discussion with some board (same one that gives game ratings - "E" for everyone...) on loot boxes and gambling... Gist of it is that that board doesn't see loot boxes as gambling. And if they were, the rating would be set higher to Adult or something (maybe Mature) - screwing over a lot of games. The ESRB is funded by gaming companies. They are not a government organization. They obviously have an interest in a lot of games not being rated M. Not to mention that their argument for that was really flimsy at best. Would they even have any option with those questions? If they said 1 was for fun, most people wouldn't buy it, if they said it was for the money most people would hate them. And 2 is a 'yes' or 'no' answer with 'no' not being an option, same as 3.The answer to those questions don't necessarily have to be a yes or no. I for one am open to hearing the rationale behind what they did with the 30 mount skins and what their intentions are going forward. The questions are an opportunity for ArenaNet to communicate with us and to show us in some way that all voices have been heard and viewpoints are, have been or will be considered.
  20. There has been a lot of conjecture on why ArenaNet took the decision to issue 31 mount skins in one hit, 30 that can only be acquired through an RNG based system - unless you can afford to just buy the 30 bundle. Their method of selling isn't a deal breaker for me at all. I have a choice. Today my choice is I won't play the mount skin lottery because my RNG luck is rubbish and there will likely be other skins that come up on the Gem Store that I can buy outright and will be really super happy about. I get so much more out of the game then just gem store stuff so I'll keep playing and as and when things come up that are must haves I'll continue to purchase gems. I don't play any other games, this doesn't have a sub, there is no loot or node competition, it has beautiful maps and the most customisation of any game I've played which is part and parcel why I've been playing since Beta. In the main, I'm a pretty happy customer. Yep, bummer that I can't buy outright the mount skins I want. But not a deal breaker and certainly not something I'm upset about. It doesn't mean it is any less valid for someone else to be really upset - after all, who am I to decide for someone else what is or is not important to them or why? That said, it would be really great if ArenaNet would give us a bit of clarity so this issue could be discussed in a less 'animated' manner or be resolved full stop. ArenaNet: Why are the mount skins only available in RNG based lootboxes? Will the opinions that have been expressed by the players in the GW2 Official forums, on Reddit and elsewhere outside these forums have any influence on how gem store items are put on sale in future?Given the feedback so far, are there any discussions about tweaking the current RNG system for the mount skins?
  21. When people throw around words like "cheat" and "scam" it is completely unwarranted and yet another example of blowing it out of proportion. There is nothing that is a cheat or scam about these. You can dislike the method of sale but do not claim it is something that it is not simply to put it in a more negative light. What is a better descriptor for it? Do you think it entirely fair from a consumer point of view? Buy them all even though most are fluff and/or unusable or gamble on getting one you like which will statistically cost the consumer more. It is clearly designed to try and drive up sales and some would say also brings in the nastier elements of gambling. Maybe a Clever Sales technique? Does it though benefit seller and buyer equally? Scam probably is to strong a word. But that's not to say it's that far from the truth either. I wouldn't have said it was a scam or cheat either because there isn't anything hidden in the method of sale. The buyer knows what they are getting from the outset. I know my RNG luck is terrible so I'm not going to play the game. Those that do not yet have all the mounts those skins are for will hopefully understand that while a unique skin is guaranteed, a skin might also drop for mount they don't yet possess. Whether or not the sale method benefits the seller or buyer - that is all about perspective. The player that got their favourite skin with the first roll of the dice would be like 'hell yeah, great system!'. For others maybe not so much. Especially if the skin you really wanted didn't pop until the 30th dice roll. @Wolfheart.7483 said: When people throw around words like "cheat" and "scam" it is completely unwarranted and yet another example of blowing it out of proportion. It is not a scam or cheat. It is represented in the store as exactly what it is. You may not like what it is but if someone buys an adoption contract to unlock a random new mount skin, they know exactly what they are getting: to unlock a random new mount skin. I agree with the fact that it should not be RNG and skins should be sold individually. But if you do purchase a random skin unlock with your heart set on a specific skin(s) and do not get what you hoped for, you were not scammed, cheated or tricked. You willingly took a chance and didn't get the outcome you hoped for. Why does it need a label? It just is what it is...a bit of a lottery that players can choose to either participate in or not. I choose not. ;)
