The guild/alliance system will not have transfers. Thatβs why the link period is shortened. You will be put into your new WvW-guild only on next relink. WvW Update: Guild Hall Arenas and World Restructuring Beta: Team Transfers: Once a match has started, there will not be a way for a player to initiate a transfer between teams. Players will need to wait until the next team-creation event or season to be placed with a different guild. To help mitigate this in the short term, weβll be reducing the duration of a season from eight weeks to four weeks.

Yes I remember several times where we were placed unlinked in T1 to fall down the long way down to T5, but up to now, we could rely on that they are settled in the first half of the linking and then had better matches in the second half, but now we will get pushed into the next bad initial placements, maybe even before they are settled.

While I am a fan of the 4-weeks relinking (and voted for it years ago) I see a bunch of problems in combination with the pseudo-random (I know Glicko is involved in it, but the Glicko of a server is completely unreleated to its strength since linking so it's quite random as well) initial server placement. If the initial placement put a server into (EU) T5 it cannot even reach T1 in 4 weeks, similar a server placed in T1 cannot even rech T5. That means the 4 weeks are barely sufficient to sort the links by strength, and we don't have any saturation phase anymore where server are placed where they belong and can enjoy play. How could that be improved? I think a possibility is to measure the K:D per server (or guild/alliance later on) over some period and (weighted by play hours) average it over all server (guilds). Put the high KD into the top tier and the low KD into the bottom tiers. This is unlikely be worser than the random placement of WSR into T5 this relink period. If anyone has a better proposal for the initial placement: your welcome π Another possibility could be the swiss tournament we had once in wvw-tournaments, but the winner-up/looser-down is to slow for 5 tiers and 4 weeks. Generally I see 2 possible directions: make the initial placement better (that's what the KD is targeting) make the sorting faster (that's what the Swiss tournament is targeting)

They designed and redesigned it the way it is. So I assume it works as they want it to work (neither is spawn-camping new, nor complains about it in the forum). That's the real problem. If they really outnumber you 24/7 on all maps, then only 1 tactics works: bore them to dead by playing other things. And experience tell me: one of the reasons you are heavily outnumbered is that your server-mates already do that. Friday is reset and they go up and maybe you also get down for a possibly better next week. Is this toxic? I prefer to see it as service, if they heavily outnumber us they will kill us where and when ever they want. So I prefer to be killed before I walk a lot and could be (if I really like) be back to the front without much walking. PS: Do you notice that the spawn guards are able to 1-hit them? Lure them into their range and see them dying and then they have to walk.

Everyone takes a break when playing against you?

Can we get a weekly raid for wizards vault?

Maybe 1 boss, but a whole raid isn't in line with other tasks but generally it isnβt a good idea to have tasks that cannot be soloed -
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weaponmaster_Training The November 7, 2023 game update has removed the ability to use the Weaponmaster Training on characters below level 80. Anomalies: Despite the ability to use Weaponmaster Training on characters below level 80 having been removed, the previous warning text about the inability to use these weapons has not been readded to the game. The inability to use Weaponmaster Training on character with a level below 80 only actually means they can't equip those weapons. Any sub-level 80 character that was equipped with one of these weapons prior to the patch mentioned above can still use their associated skills (though they can still not re-equip these weapons if they are ever unequipped). Edit: Lol, hang the messenger, seem to be still a popular reaction. π

It is and always was bannable to "achieve something" while afk. Assume a GM wispering the 2nd seat player, he didn't answer, then this is the same as the occasional afk/bot farmer bans. Maybe there were (I've no clue) even cases of selling such tours, then this is an illegal competition to the Gem Store WP-Passes.

This game has a serious accessibility problem.
Dayra.7405 replied to MisterMagician.8614's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
The game is hugh and it's vertical progression doesn't enforce a strict order in which you play it. While this gives you a lot of freedom choosing your goals, it also let you alone choosing your goals and makes it very easy to choose unreasonable goals: it's not a reasonable goal to build legendaries in the 1st year it's a demanding goal, to do Strkes, Raids or T4 Fraktals in the 1st year. .... But there is a lot of beautiful and rewarding content to play. "Just" choose the right goals π -
Simply don't do it, if you don't like it or do it with a beta-char, then it doesn't harm your account score. It's definitely better that any "obscenely broken OP beta characters" are identified now instead of after release.

Some of you are talking as it would be difficult to get HPs. It's not, there are 1214 hero points and you can maximally spend 750 of them. Getting 250 of them to get an elite takes less than 2h (or 1 min if you are long term WvW-player), if you know what you are doing. If some want to skip these, let them. It doesn't give them any advantage. It only give them something many of us already have in abundance. It maybe helpful for new player to catch up faster, if that is what they want. They first spend money to buy a game such that they can waste time. Now they spend even more money to buy such things as Lvl 80 boost, WP pass or HP to waste a bit less time. If that makes them happy fine. If a lot people do that, such that it finances game development even better. But I doubt that they sell well. π

The reduced amount of players will give less interactions, resulting in less things being testet. While a beta-char can play builds with normal weapons, they are less likely doing so, pvp/wvw between normal builds and beta-builds or raids and strikes with normal and beta player in a squad will be less likely. Some area's are sparse populated in normal play, they will be empty on a beta-server, e.g. you can join a Worldboss kill with a beta-char on normal servers, but I doubt that any Worldboss will be killed on a pure betra-server. Beta player by definition cannot do exploits as they have no permanent progress. And an exploit requires getting an advantage. No save = no advantage
-
No, it is a main function of these tests to find out about all the interactions possible in normal play and for that they need to interact with normal players, it's not an exploit, it's a bug/questionable feature to detect, Take a few days off if you donβt like it.

I don't like the defend an objective. It may really take hours on some days. -
You can enjoy the whole 4 weeks, you will never face adequate opposition, linking ends before you reach T1 π
