  1. Used to be when I logged in, my chat would be set to whatever I left it as. Now it is reset by default to say. What is the point of this? One more annoyance to add to the stack of playability issues? It would be nice if the busywork folks actually concentrated on beneficial stuff, and not inhibitors and weird quirks.
  2. After the huge nerf - oh, sorry, "reworking" - of the Rune system, and the total failure of the Relics to compensate for that, or to even perform as advertised, today's pointless PvE nerf to Engineer's specialization line Inventions is another example of completely random player powers erasure. Automated Medical Response: This trait has been reworked. Grant regeneration to nearby allies when you use your healing skill's toolbelt skill. Mecha Legs: This trait has been reworked. Gain resistance on dodging. Bunker Down: This trait now triggers when disabling an enemy instead of when critically striking. How about doing stuff that's actually COOL and you know, FUN for the players for a change - rather than stabbing us in the back all of the time? If there's a lack of imagination at Anet on this issue, go to any highschool and recruit some DMs from the local D&D club. Sheesh!
  3. I am getting pretty tired of being forced to do story to unlock game updates/features. Bad acting, unskippable cutscenes, lame voices, and boring content are not the way to encourage players to remain. I want to only play the parts of the game I am interested in - I don't want to be forced to do anything at all. And having PvP-oriented stuff as an "alternative" also sucks since that game mode is absolutely the worst. How about this; we buy the game you sold, and you give us the game we bought, without any cutsey tricks sprung on us later to force us into doing what you want, and in the style you want?
  4. Are there ever any Convergences where the game doesnt freeze/crash? 3/4 for me. The cheapness of using Amazon servers etc is amazingly poor service. Cant imagine that Anet is actually trying to retain customers with this waste of time.
  5. I really hate having to slog through the living story to access new content maps, etc. I pay for that content, and I want to use it - but without dealing with the living story junk that me and my wife both hate with a passion. If I had my choice, I would never have played even one single chapter of that trash.
  6. Responding from a position of ignorance of the subject matter, and instead assuming a different subject, does not strike me as something to be proud of. I did not post to you, personally, nor for the purpose of discussing the mount bug's details.
  7. Did you even bother to read before responding? I am not speaking to the game feature of the lab that prevents players from "harassing" the mad king and joko, etc. The mount control bug is when you summon a mount, and then it moves sideways or is not properly controllable using arrow keys until you manually direct it with the two-button mouse movement command. Sloppy programming that hasnt been fixed for years.
  8. Anet had a year to flag the goodies in the ToT bags as not convertible to notes so we could have our candy back, and didnt bother to do it. First launch of my mount in Lab, and I got reminded that the mount control bug is also still active. Thanks again for the stellar service.
  9. Knowing Anet it is because they plan on selling you some kind of bastion pass in the futute - but you'd still be zoning back and forth anyway
  10. I thin they should actually change the name of the game to "Loading Screens", since that is what much og the game is about. Good (cheap) of them to move to having frikken AMAZON host their game servers too.
  11. Pretty sick of hearing this line from white knights. Games are about choice and having fun - not regimented orders from on high. That type of attitude is why people leave.
  12. Sadists who live in their mom's basement dont have friends and family, so don't consider such things as having value.
  13. One of the very few positives of this pile of steaming kittens of an expansion for me is that I never have to do WvW again for my dailies. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say. This game is nothing but a Frankenstein's Monster of poorly-executed ripoffs from other games, but their dedication to destroying ANY amount of actual fun to be had is legendary - and on full display int his game mode.
  14. The rich orichalcum mines in Lake Doric and Sandswept isles disappeared when the SotO "expansion" launched. What was the reason for that? Similarly, why wasn't this extreme nerf to materials announced in the patch notes? This happens quite a lot in GW2 (thinking of when wood boards and metal bars went from 2-3 units to make for instance), and I am interested to know why there is so much focus on making it ever more difficult for people to farm materials, limit options, etc.
  15. A lot of the old-times (those who havent already quit in disgust) are pretty sick of constant nerfs (and stealth changes), taking away things that were given to us, etc. Most of the bad things about this game were never addressed (i.e., targeting), and the continually pollute PvE with balances intended for the other game modes (and vice-versa to an extent). The lack of imagination, and flat out sadism are simply tiring.
  16. Forced tasks - especially junk like JPs, fractals, and metas, are very off-putting. The implementation of this, and the rune nerfing/destruction fiasco are beyond abysmal, no matter what rewards you can potentially get by grinding the assigned chores :/
  17. Pretty Much the whole thing is like this. I wont get any rewards because I wont do most of the force-fed accomplishments they foist on us. Truth is, MOST of this game totally sucks, and is poorly implemented, so I dont play those parts. So now they ripped out most of the small parts I actually liked, and I think the time has come to tell them to shove it.
  18. And while they were at it, sure enough - they went around and removed a bunch of rich orichalcum nodes! WTH is up with THAT? Plain old maliciousness.
  19. It would be one thing is this was a one-off, but the truth is that Anet goes out of its way to disrupt and jumble established mechanisms in their game tot he great detriment of players almost constantly - and while a lot of it is "in your face" such as the constant chipping away at player-character power and versatility, a lot of of it is invisible (such as nerfs to drops of certain items and the like). The treatment we players receive from this company on a regular basis goes well beyond indifference, or even condescending disrespect.
  20. Sadly, the trend is to take AWAY from the players. You will note that all of the Chest of Fish from the Cantha daily no longer give ambigris; all bags, mobs, etc, etc, have had their rewards tweaked to where stuff drops less, and the good stuff WWWWAAAAAYYYY less - or simply not at all, as in the case of Halloween candy of all things! Clearly Anet knows how to flag food to make it non-researchable, as the Dragon Bash proved, so why wasn't that done with the Mad King? Not to mention the drumbeat of nerfs to player abilities and power over time. I really don't feel valued as a customer here - more like a sheep that is just getting shorn closer and closer to the skin 😞
  21. I also dislike this Beta. I want to be able to log in with my wife and do stuff. Since Anet INSISTS that we have 3 guild members on ateam in WvW to do any guild events etc, it is pretty inconvenient to have them randomy assign our few members to different teams. Dont appreciate that, the fact that you cant dolo guild missions, or the lack of thought that went into this Beta - especially since this is the EXACT SAME gripe that the last couple of WvW betas raised. Just goes to show you how much care+respect Anet has for the players.
  22. How long does it take for items to progress down the pages? That is, from "new" at 60, to 45 statues in price?
  23. Along with everything you said; the general homogenizing of effects, powers, and abilities/interfaces; the constant nerfing to PVE builds; and, more recently the uncompromising, uncaring beatdown that we got for Halloween, and now Christmas with the food items being taken because it is too much trouble to code a flag or whatever (and no compensation by like making recipes to get those same foods reasonable in cost). I see a lot of that, and i have heard many times "oh gee, the code is so OLD that nobody really knows how to handle it" etc. It's all just bottom line poor service.
