Bladesworn sworn to PVE?

Ultimately, I think there's a mix. There are plenty of cases where if you did a bit of digging through forum archives you could probably find where the thing ArenaNet did was linked to things that players asked for. The specific implementation might not be spot on, but the link is definitely there. Vindicator is a good example in the current set - lots of power AoE and they even squeezed in an urn for the people who wanted more ritualist. Virtuoso is another, as much as it gets derided by some - a common request was for a spec that wasn't so vulnerable to clone destruction, and virtuoso does that.

There are also times where it's pretty clear that the developers have had an idea that THEY think is really cool and they've pushed it through regardless of whether it fits what players were asking for.

Which isn't inherently a bad thing, as it can avoid the 'faster horse' principle.

On the other hand, some professions have been developing some serious shortfalls and blind spots in their design, and those should probably be prioritised.

This is true. My prime example is when thief got rifle which turned out to be deadeye. There was literally no other reason why thief should've gotten rifle. It didn't need it, it absolutely didn't need it. But enough people said they wanted it, so thief got rifle. Guardian and Necro used to be easy targets to kill, but now they're reigning supreme.

It usually goes from one era to the next. But like someone else said in another forum, the guardian and necro era has gone on the longest. It's actually strange how long its lasted.

Very true. Like I said in this comment, Necro and Guardian used to be easy to kill and now they're not. It's another class's turn to be reworked and/or boosted. Definitely not: Necro, Guardian, Mesmer or Ranger.

I think it's time to come to grips with reality for us Warrior mains. We are not meant to have S-tier specs. We aren't going to rule PVP or WvW. Warrior is a B rated class and that's how its going to be.

I am not sure if you played at launch or not but that is basically the treatment they have given Warriors throughout the history of the game.

To state the obvious, kneejerk reactions are what caused the discipline trait line bonus to go from 30% damage to 3% damage within the first 2 months of the game for over a year.  It is also the reason Warrior still has 2 traits with recharge times of 300s.  Low level hot join pvp should never influence the balance of a class.  Unfortunately that has controlled the Warrior balance since launch.

It is funny to know they are still saying the same thing

The devs said it themselves, they like where warrior is at the moment

The most obvious telegraphs, long animations, long after casts, straight forward and simple skills with a singular effect and middle of the road damage.  Long live the king of mediocrity.

Not sure I agree with respect to mesmer and ranger. Guardian and necro can probably be left alone for a bit, though. Willbender probably needs a bit of touching up, but primarily for the sake of that elite specialisation specifically, not because guardian as a whole is really hurting for anything.

I think the real problem warrior has at the moment is that spellbreaker was supposed to be the PvP spec (not that there should be a designated PvP spec, but let's be realistic here). For a while, it was, a bit too much...and then it got nerfed. And then the CC nerf happened without considering how much more that warriors rely on CCs that also do damage. And then healbreaker showed up, only to be nerfed in turn, because we can't have viable support warrior builds, can we?

Preaching to the choir. I was there for all of that. I don't know why they're so attentive to Warrior doing too well. Any other class, there seems to be a year or more that goes by before they consider doing anything about it. Right when Warrior finds success, it's to the chopping block.

In my opinion, the worst to date was the CC nerf. Our poor hammer became a rubber mallet. Our CC damage, which was actually a big part of Warrior identity, got vaporized. I still can't believe it lol.

I really don't know why they can't let Warriors have nice things. Warrior was the most played class back at release. It's still up there according to the stats.

Just tested it, the big majority of stuff from bladesworn works underwater. Gunsaber and dragon trigger are both usable there. The only things which you can't use are: electric fence and bulletproof barrier.

Well we ALL know...."You cant pee on an electric fence"!!!!  so yea....only fitting.  😉 😁

May be it should be the other way around and developers listen to what customers want?.

Nawwww it's more important to listen to players that don't play warrior, so they can mess around on bladesworn than go back to their mains than it is to listen to their playerbase that spends 1000's of hrs on the class, anet logic.

100% agree. That's the biggest problem in my opinion. The people who don't play Warrior wants Warrior to fit their needs. They're extremely entitled.

Don't think it's about fitting their needs.

1. The bs in pve where everything works and see the big dt numbers = fine.

2. They don't play warrior and don't plan on playing it often so what do they care if it's good, let alone being good in all modes.

3. The players on other classes that play in competitive modes want bs to stay bad for obvious reason that I don't need to explain.

4. Players who are dissatisfied with their mains new espec want as much possible attention on their preferred new espec as far as improvements are concerned, notice the majority(not all) players saying bs is fine don't play warrior AND a lot of the times use their post stating bs is so awesome to also convey how dissatisfied with their mains new espec is haha.

People are funny.

Another reason might be that someone stacked defense and tactics on bladesworn (since it does the same damage anyway stats don't matter wooo) and pool nudled them to death.
