Staff mirage for alacrity new fractal meta?

They don't provide protection like renegade but do provide just as much alacrity while running full dps gear. 

The other huge advantage is you apply aegis by using staff 5 chaos storm and also your healing skill.

By running rune of perplexity you have have 100% confusion even while running concentration food. 

Then you can spamming shatters to refresh riddle of sand, you don't even need full clones.

Some fights I can top dps or get a close second.

It isn't that strong because of the way exposed works. Exposed means it doesn't proc the active part of confusion.

Alac ren (both variants) has stronger CC as well. The only advantage to running mirage would be ease of use.

Yes but due to the way energy works CC will lower your dps considerably and they have alot harder time using things like Surge of the Mists. Mirage just has to tap f3 with full clones or use signet of domination to cc targets, not to mention conditions like chilled and weakness it can apply.

The CC provided by mirage is far lesser unless you swap out jaunt for moa signet, which isn't even up for every single breakbar unlike revenant CC. And it's not like using up signets and diversion isn't a far higher DPS tax than surge of the mist or a warband's energy cost.

And let's not even get into how 100% alacrity uptime is not happening on average with most mirages unless you swap sigil of concentration in, which is already nerfing your dps considerably.

This only applies to 100cm anyways where mirage is used, as it is garbage in the rest of the fractals due to the abysmal ramp up to damage and its interaction with breakbars.

Alac mirage is mainly some select raid encounters and questionably 100cm. Alacrigade on the other hand is a far more flexible pick with better utility to boot.

Alac Mirage is fine in t4 pugs (not cm) as an alac replacement, but it doesn't offer the same level of utility Rev gets. Null field is not really a perfect replacement for Mallyx on No Pain No Gain days for a lot of reasons. HB provides like 15 stacks of might no matter what it does so that's less optimal now. You also can't help the healbrand with stability as much though it will mean the hb can take less fury. 

It can really depend on the fractal and instabilities for that day so I wouldn't say it's a perfect replacement or a "new meta".

Alac mirage is by no means the new meta for fractals, but it is definitely a solid substitute for rene when you can't wait for one in a PUG.

Just pile up c*Fb with a ren, and maybe a scourge for some mechanics like boonstrip, barriers, epi, grasp, some mights...  and congratulation you have the new meta.

Guys, CC in fractals doesnt matter. Firebrand alone can do almost entire breakbar solo, everyone else drops 1skills maybe 2 when they feel like it and its done.
Alac mirage is definitely a good choice, dont think its quite as good as rev but its up there, where I personally dont give a kitten if you are rev or mirage. 
But honestly, as long as FB is as broken as it is its all a moot point, almost every single team is rev+fb+scourge/fb x 3
and the most easy runs are 4x fb + alac
