One could make the argument that individual teleportation skills aren't the issue so much as a couple of professions being able to chain them together along with stealth. That said, I feel the game needs fewer teleports that allow folks to disengage and more teleports that allow players to close the gap and/or reposition slightly. Leap skills are a little different because they're telegraphed, can be interrupted, aren't nearly as instantaneous and usually don't cover the same distance as a shadowstep skill (barring the exception of some ranger leaps). Tack a little skill onto the use of these teleports and force them to require a target such as a guardian's sword. I like the change they made to Ride the Lightning many years ago in that if the skill doesn't end with a hit on the enemy the cooldown is doubled. The game should have more of that to encourage folks to fight rather than run away and I would be entirely okay with every movement skill in the game getting that treatment in some form.

Anet motto is: "if it's ele...we want users to go through loops and whatnot to get the same things other professions get...in far greater magnitude"

Elementalist should not really be used as a beacon of balance, it's  mostly overcomplicated and overnerfed for the sake of it

PoF specs were bad/lazy designs which were severly overtuned on release,

Calling PoF specs "lazy designs" is not only dishonest, but very condescending towards the devs who brought about a quality product.

Overtuned? Yes. Unhealthy, looking at scourge and firebrand to name a few (not all)? Yes - not all of them - but yes, and difficult to balance.

It's my honest opinion though. If I complimented anything from the last 5 years of this game, now that would be dishonest of me. The quality product is the base PoF was built upon.

@NorthernRedStar.3054 is right, though. Firebrand introduced a lot of new skills and animations (even if they do share a theme), and is probably the only guardian elite specialisation yet that really changes how guardian plays. Scourge doesn't have so many skills, but swapping the shroud transformation out for something else, and making that work with existing traits, was probably a little more involved than simply making a different shroud like reaper and harbinger do. Soulbeast, deadeye, holoforge, and mirage were also all more ambitious than their HoT counterparts.

Say what you like about the balance, the design of the PoF specs wasn't lazy. If I was going to make that accusation, I'd place the sights squarely on Catalyst before anything else, and maybe some of the HoT specialisations that really just felt like "core profession plus" (especially on release).

Ah yes, the ambitious mirage. It's actually the worse thing this game has ever seen. The core idea around the spec is just... how could anyone design something like this? You gain invulnerability frames from several sources, and these frames grant you access to your main offense... so you kill the enemy by being invulnerable, wow what great ambition, clearly they set the bar high with this expansion.

But you guys might technically be right, I'm not sure if these designs are "lazy", maybe they took much work and several iterations to arrive at these jokes we call PoF elite specs(makes it worse tbh). But if you look at it as  "this is the best they can do", thats almost insulting to the dev-team.

I'm still around to see if this 5 year streak of <REDACTERY> might end with EoD release, and e-specs like Willbender might end up finding a place in PvP, instead of being free food for every HoT and PoF spec. That requires smart changes to especially PoF specs. If they can do it, this gamemode has a future. If they can't(or won't), lol bye.
