Do you feel bad being carried by shout spam?

Well... Banners don't work well in PvP/Wvw.

And if we look at shouts, only 2 of them have actual support on them while 1 is just semi useful Boon spam and the other 2 probably saw less then 100 uses last year combined.

It's pretty questionable if we can call a little bit of healing on 2 skills support.

Especially when one shout is your heal and the other has 60cd.

Working well or not, Banners and Shouts are the support structures for Warrior. So as for being 'carried by shout spam' ... that shouldn't surprise anyone. Basically, if people want support warriors with the current features on it, it's shouts and banners, regardless of how bad they are.

Agreed.

I think they are going to need to nerf to base heal (competitive) and increase the healing coefficient so that you can get similar healing numbers, but only if you have significant healing power. It would be good for warrior to have a viable healing/support option, and shouts are as good a way to do that as any (although I do wish at least one of our shouts have protection and/or resolution). But it is ridiculous for a DPS build like BS to get such healing from it without investing anything into healing power. It's essentially the same issue Vindicator had with its Saint dodge on release: too much sustain without any stat investment.

Moreover, I highly suspect that the absurd healing warrior is able to generate from shouts is a major reason why ANet had refused to give warrior meaningful sources of damage reduction (like ranger's protection on dodge roll). If the healing on shouts was only substantial on dedicated healing builds, they could more reasonably add other damage mitigation mechanics without making warrior unkillable.

If Arenanet lowered base healing and increased scaling, they would need to give us the Power/Healing Power/Precision/Ferocity attribute combination to make Warrior a viable healer. Otherwise, why would you pick Warrior as a healer, when others do it better and deal more damage?

Because its Anet and common sense is not a requirement.
