I require the attention of whoever is in charge with PVP Balances etc..

Hi,

I think it is time we remove having similar classes in match, aka 5 eles, 2 revs, 2 warriors, 3 this 3 that..

THIS IS NOT HEALTHY AT ALL

When Overwatch was released and seeing 5 Genjis, 5 Dvas or 5 winstons, the game became a joke.

Guild wars 2 PVP... "IS ALREADY A JOKE" PERIOD!!

So why do we still have more than same class allowed in matches especially rank?

Class switching before match starts

-How come this has persisted through many years of allowing people to swap class before game starts, or mid game even (AT in general)

Why do you persist in keeping this like this and be content about this?

- We don't have 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 choice

- We don't have better communication tool (VOIP) etc..

- We don't have more interactive maps for PVP especially the 5v5 conquest

- 50 v 50 BG (Aka pvp battlegrounds idea from WoW but in SPVP context)

- King of the hill

- So many that can be added!!!!

There is so much to be done, and yet all we get are these silly pvp balances that doesnt even help a lot in actually tackling real SPVP problems.

WE NEED TO MAKE SPVP LESS OF A JOKE!!!!

PERIOD!!!

I am invoking free speech in this.

If the forums can't handle negativity without proposing something positive to alleviate the problem and only silencing frustrations, there is no progression of where this game mode is going and this absolutely purely entirely stupid. There's nothing worse than playing a game that has potential to not be stupid.

*CLASS LOCK BEFORE GAME / MID GAME

*NO MULTIPLE CLASS IN GAME (NO 2 WARRIORS, NO 5 ELES, NO 4 MESMERS, NOTHING EVER!!! 1 CLASS PER GAME)

*SPECIALISATION SHOULD COUNT AS 1, IF ITS THIEF IT COUNTS AS 1 THIEF, (EXAMPLE: THERE CANT BE 2 THIEF IN GAME (DAREDEVIL/DEADEYE) ETC

*MORE CHOICE 1V1 / 2V2 / 3V3 / 5v5 / 25 V 25 / 50 V 50 /  / King of the hill /

*NEW BATTLE GROUNDS IN SPVP TO ACCOMMODATE 25 V 25 / 50 V 50  (ALTERAC VALLEY WOW REFERENCE)

*LISTEN MORE TO PLAYERS

Yuh, welcome to Class-swap hot potato wars 2

I think people should remember the key to being a guildie pro isn't mastering the game itself, it's doing everything in your power to go outside of the game to seek an advantage within.

If anyone wants to make it to the top, then they gotta be ready to put down a couple hundred $ investing in increasing game load times.

Because nobody can truly call themself a guildie gamer if they aren't class-swapping at least 30 different times before the prematch timer expires.

Bonus points if you manage to trick one of your random teammates into thinking you dc'd, since it is difficult to tell who is swapping class, and who just isn't there.

This is why I suggested instead of a dumb sPvP Ranked, they instead of Profession based ranking.

This ranking format would need you to lock in the Profession you want to play, and the Rank points you gain and how you are matched with is against people of the same rating using only x Profession.

Naturally this is also a great way to show what Professions are heavily overperforming because their mean rating would be significantly higher than others. Any Profession with a mean rating a whooping 10% more than the others deserve big fat juicy nerfs. Goal would be to keep all Professions within a 3% - 5% difference in rating.

First off, you are not wrong...

Anet literally posted a pole on who wanted class swapping prior to game start and something like.... 57% pvp players selected YES to that pole. It's utterly ridiculous (and bias) because this clearly causes multiple issues with matchmaking balance when it places classes and player efficiency to said class, on a given team. ESPECIALLY when sPvP population is as low as it is. (this post was before AT's were implemented and it was right before PvP Seasons as well. Matchmaking had to work twice as hard. This was seen when the Devs were altering Matchmaking Algorithms several times a week just to find the right sauce.

1v1/2v2/3v3's.... the official stance has been "We don't want to separate the PvP population".

The irony 1.5years after this very old Dev post? They release a new PvP gamemode named Stronghold that only had 5% of what the playerbase asked for while also separating the pvp population (during this new gamemode release, premades of 5 vs solo/duo/trio comp Queue Times were at an all-time high).

The fallacy here is that more individual, unique, players can queue for 1v1/2v2/3v3 game modes along side of a separate 5v6 game mode, like our current iteration of AT's. It's why most competitive (especially competitive) games have separated individual game modes. 1v1/2v2/3v3's don't cause higher queue times.

What doesn't make sense is....this current system has had a HUGE on-going match manipulating process for the last few years. This current iteration has been the most abusive match manipulation in ALL of GW2 history.... for anyone who keeps track of GW2 PvP, this speaks volumes.

I could see that definitely improving matchmaking, especially if applied to MMR.

If it were me, i'd ask for both. I come from other ambiguous, dead games like Paladins: Champions of The Realm where it is possible to be ranked in the traditional Ranked leaderboard sense, and also by character(or profession).
Ranking both adds for more competitive depth and reason to play the game more often.

Would definitely get rid of class-swapping in guildie wars though, so long players are locked into the character they entered a match as, because I imagine the same wintraders that abuse it would begin to froth at the mouth when given the chance to "Be the best <insert profession here> in all of <insert NA or EU leaderboard here>"
