Is Virt limited to just instanced stuffs...??

Jade Protocols allow builds with limited self-buffs to become increasingly stronger in OW, but Mirage is still the best mesmer build to solo hard content. Then you have GS Mirage for best tag farming build, and either Condi (= Alac) Mirage or a Chrono build for best meta event support.

Virtuoso, however, should be as good, if one of the best for generic exploration. It can kill stuff fast, it's easy to use, and with Jade Protocols you don't even need to worry about boon traits. It's a top dps build for instanced content, so it should also be a top dps build for open-world assuming similar circumstances (having someone or something offer you boons), or just to burst down trash.

No matter how godlike condi-Mirage is, it's heavily specialized in soloing hard stuff. For general exploration, it feels a bit like crap due to poor tagging and burst damage.

If ANet sticks with the F5 block removal (and thus far, seems like they're not going to replace it with ANYTHING), Virt survivability in Open World is going down the toilet. It's already "not good" compared to Mirage, after the patch it'll be even worse.

 

At this very moment in time, yes, Virt can do a lot and live to tell the tale. But after June 27th, that's all going away. They're taking an already "bad by comparison" spec and making it worse.

It's not as bad but it's definitely dog tier.  Removal of the block and decreasing Blade Renewal to two seconds is certainly felt.

Mesmer in general doesn't really benifit from Celestial since your clones should be tanking the encounter not you.

You are essentially wasting all the other stats. Best to stick with either Dragon/Marauder on Power Virtuoso and Vipers on Condition Virtuoso. Then run some bulk standard Phantasms.

Condi virt doesn't even use all viper, you gotta mix in enough rampager's to crit cap ideally.

You have to understand GW2 is a super casual MMO designed for the lowest level of player to have an enjoyable time. Open world is the pinnacle of casual content in this game. What that means is that every single spec is able to do well in the open world.
