Legendary trunk Update

Since the support is telling me to keep an eye on the official Guild wars 2 website,

is there a fair chance, that Arenanet is aware of people still possessing legendary trunks and hoping that they would add the tier 1 obsidian armors?

They were given as a compensation with the 13. july 2021 update for player that possessed double legendary, which couldn’t be added to the armory.

I would say they are aware that people still have these but that there is no chance of them adding the obsidian armour to them. They didn't add the gen 3 legendary weapons to the legendary weapon coffers.

I'm pretty sure they are exactly aware of how many players still have legendary trunks.

I'm also pretty sure that no new legendary items will ever get added to those. It was possible to exchange legendary trunks for better versions which contained other legendaries (for example: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_Reliquary and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_Coffer). I am unsure if this is still being done, maybe if contacting customer support.

Now this was already affecting a very ultra niche group of players (I was one of them, ending up with 18 Legendary Trunks myself) and the group which could make no use of ANY of the legendary select able items was even more niche, probably counting a few dozen players IF at all.

I doubt this is something they are considering for new legendary items.

I don't think they should ever be updated. They were for everything up to that point specifically as compensation for how the whole system changed. If they ever get an update, they should be for getting your material back.
