I have 2 pair of ascended armor for my characters and it does very well but i really enjoy the look of obsidian armors. I don't have obsidian armour yet, I'm not trying to make it but I think it's good when games have things you can earn by playing rather than just pay extra for. Even if that's just a cosmetic reward like nice armour skins and it's also a long-term goal like legendary armour (all the legendaries I have made were chosen for the skins). It gives me an incentive to play more of the game, which is ultimately the point of the entire thing. I had four sets of ascended armor just on one character. And just finished my obsidian armor set for that character this weekend, for the QoL not for the look.
