Why EoTM no pip?

EotM was always intended to be an overflow map, to give people some WvWish things to do while waiting for the "real" maps to open. On the whole, EotM has never been anything more than a karma/loot train, with the occasional guild using it for training or skirmishing.

Accordingly, it would be counterproductive to buff its rewards. It would undermine core WvW, without providing much of anything that WvWarriors want (unless you want to count those happy with Zerg-vs-Environment, rather than large scale PvP).

Put another way: how does it help WvW as a game mode to add pips to EotM?

Add pips, return rewards to the same level as before the nerf, leave mount to EoTM and remove it from WvW. I would be totally happy with this.

It doesnt. People just want to avoid all fights (making it effectively a pve map, like it used to be) while getting all wvw rewards. Simple as that.

Can't tell you the number of times we would go into EoTM after WvW raids with our guild, people would QQ so hard in map chat for us to leave and stop fighting the other zergs lol. In short order the larger enemy zergs would leave the map once you started fighting them. we would not even stack or buff, just run straight into them and one push wipe them. Once they left we would hold everything, and people would QQ harder because the other zergs left and no one was there to back cap and as such the ktrain was dead.

EotM is a strange beast, Anet did put some effort into building a new map with new mechanics, with some interesting stuff, but they did let it go later on, without saying why. The lobby thing was quite bizarre justification, with way too many resources invested for such a simple goal (and barely requested feature IIRC). Maybe they were experiencing stuff, e.g. the sheer size of the map hinting for transportation devices. In the end, maybe they couldn't afford the maintenance, as it was way more successful than what they expected, or their budget was reallocated? Who knows, they never communicate.

In any case, put some pips in it, and many WvW players will flock to it. Population management in WvW is already an issue, I guess they cannot afford degrading it further, at least until alliances come into play (if they ever do).

Personally I think that putting Pips on EotM would be good for it. Let the PvE heroes go there for daily and easy rewards, instead of wasting supply fixing a trebbed keep.

Yes, please, make everything much easier for pvers, pve is hard enough as it is. Wvw is already a half afk mode in outnumbered maps for pvers, why not turn it into pve altogether, right?

EOTM is designed to be a "waiting" map for people waiting for WvW queue, it is a badly planned map though considering it took entire year to made which by then the queue disappear from most servers due to decline. EOTM is also too well designed and too well rewarded to be considered a "waiting" map and this massive reward lead to people abusing this waiting map as a reward farming map and which anet staffs happily encourage newcomers to use "eotm" as a "wvw" experience but wvw isn't about farming rewards. On top of that, eotm seemingly is separated from wvw population algorithm therefore eotm "guilds" which encourage people to join their server inorder to be same color, sometimes will cause population imbalance when they run on actual wvw out of whim. There are also other arguable issues that eotm cause to wvw itself. Generally, EOTM simply is a trouble for WvW game mode.

So you prefer them to waste supply fixing trebbed keeps?
