[QOL suggestion] Unless you use a skill, you will be kicked... make chat reset the timer as well

Would it be possible to change the idle kick, so that typing in chat also counts as activity? It sometimes happens, probably only for RP, that there is nothing but chat activity and the game wants to kick you. Then you'll have to move, get back to previous locations, sit down again, etc.

Nothing is really lost by changing this I think. Moving by a tiny bit already prevents the kick so I can't see how this would add abuse via bots/scripts.

Why not just move a tiny bit?

That is of course possible. But that's why I labeled this QOL. It's just a tiny bit that can improve things for some players. Nothing more. :)

For RP activity this would be a boon. For many other areas.... Not so much.

Maybe tag it into the emote system?

Why would people do this though, it's not that you need to type a character into chat every 60 sec not to be kicked. Just so that if you use chat only the kick timer doesn't kick in. After all, chatting means not afk.

The bot can just press a movement key. It's even only 1 key instead of enter + letter + enter.

They can already minion AFK farm because the auto-loot from masteries actually counts as activity by the system. This wouldn't help bots in any way.

To the OP, I would love if active chat were counted against the afk timer.

When I'm standing, or sitting, in one place for long periods of time while I'm RPing, and the move timer starts counting down, I simply open my hero equipment panel, unequip, then reequip an accessory. That resets the timer and I didn't have to move.

Seriously, if interacting with the game it shouldn't boot you.

Nothing is gained either. Bots will circumvent as always and the people you're trying to punish for "afk" farming already use skills.

Yes, although it's longer outside wvw. It's ok I though to disconnect accounts where the owner went on vacation and forgot to turn of his computer.
