Art Issues: Characters, Weapons, Armor - [Merged]

  • Item : Trappings of the lich
    Race : Asura
    Gender : Male
    Class : Reaper

    Description :
we see a red pants under the dress of the armor of the lich Asura men. And this one is also seen by being standing by a red band just above the belt. Armor dyes used: Shadow abyss / Celestial / Slime green. So seeing a red stripe while it is not part of the colors used makes the appearance ugly.

  • Item: Bounty Hunter's Pants
    Race: Human (maybe Sylvari too?)
Gender: male (dunno if this goes for females aswell?)
    Class: Mesmer

If you use the skin of the pants mentioned above and I use sword as main- and/or offhand you get this weird bug where both swords stick out (away from the character) in a really ugly way... If you use any other pant with 2 swords they fit to the body just fine.

Any other pants (without the issue):

Please fix this, it looks so f***ing stupid! <3

    Clipping issue.

Race: Human (could be others - not tested)
Gender : Male (could be female also - not tested)
Profession : Mesmer/Chrono (although could be any scholar proff)
    Item : Chronomancer's Epaulets

Problem - when in combat(weapons drawn) the sharp protrusions on the lower positioned shoulderpiece viciously jab into the face of character.

The seam between her breast and her top, which is Spearmarshal's Vestments, causes invisible/transparency specks to appear where they meet as well some slight clipping as well at certain view angles along that edge where the skin and the top meet. I can see all the way through to the ground below my character. Is her bust too big for the outfit?

    Race: any
    Gender: any
    Profession : revenant and daredevil
    Item: Sunscythe

    issue: graphical bug

Since the wintersday 2017 patch, the holding angle for this weapon has been flipped, it seems that this done to fix a graphical bug with the shadow scythe effect of necromancers, wich appeared on the oposite side making the staff look like an anchor, however acording to necros the shadow effect on the side also flippled over, so the problem was not the staff, but the shadow effect, and now daredevils and revenants using this skin for melee combat look terrible.

it wouldnt matter too much if it was a cheap skin, but its it quite expensive and probably the second best and most accesible scythe skin for melee staff users, please fix anet

here are a couple of screenshots, one pre patch and another post patch

    Profession: Any
    Item: Svanir Gauntlets

Description: I was redressing one of my characters and I recently got the new Svanir Gauntlets from the Black Lion Chests so I decided to see how they would look. When I tried them on the horns at the top of the gloves seem to be influenced by the color of what color your head wear is. Then I changed the helm skin and that also influences what the top of the gloves look like, even some of it just completely disappears. There's also 4 dye channels but on the gloves itself you can't dye the horns. You have to do that from your headgear. To me it looks like something with the textures got messed up so that its trying to connect to the textures of the helm skin. I've included some screens of trying different head gear to change the gloves. It's the strangest thing I have come across in this game.

  • While I did create a thread detailing this problem more specifically, I wanted to note here as well that there is a visual clipping issue affecting Female Human characters performing the stomp / finisher animation, with 100% reproducibility (not sure if it affects other genders/races as well; did not appear to affect Female Norn). Basically, while executing this animation, the chest area will clip downward instead of moving upward with the rest of the body frame, creating a pretty jarring visual bug that needs to be fixed. This appears to be a new issue on the current patch, and I have confirmed that other players see it as well, so it's not just an issue with my own system or settings. Here's an imgur link showing a particularly obvious example:

  • Race: Human
    Profession: Thief - Daredevil
    Sex: Male
    Item in question: Sunscyte

Problem: As a Daredevil (don't know if this is also the issue for a Rev or other professions)
The Sunscyte seems to be pointing to the wrong direction (i thought it was like that so you can take a better look when you preview the item) but also in combat it seems to be pointing towards the wrong direction, now when i swing my staff, it looks like i'm fighting with the back of the scyte and not the front as it should be. (scroll down there are 3 pics of the issue thanks)

    hope it gets fixed =)B)

  • Race: Sylvari (Though i have replicated the issue on Asura)
Profession: Mesmer - Mirage (Issue has been reproduced on Guardian & Necromancer)
    Sex: Male
Item in question: Ice Encasement Outfit (Gem Store)

Problem: The aura doesn't consistently colour to the 4th dye slot, sometimes retaining it's base colour, despite the 4th slot being coloured. The issue can mostly be reproduced by loading an area with the game minimized. when the game is open and in focus, the issue almost never occurs, but it does occasionally occur when it is open but not in focus. The issue persists unless the game is reset, or you load a different character and then load the initial character once more, without putting GW2 out of focus or minimizing it.

    When it works:
    when it doesn't:
When it doesn't even in hero panel:

    (my Video)

in these videos you can see the aura changing:

SO what do y'all suggest i do how can this be fixed cause heck i don't want a black aura that doesn't even show at all no matter what color orientation i go with and being stuck with that sucks i could tolerate the red and gold for my other two toons but not the black

I would have just edited my post to include this, but old post edits aren't permitted by lowly recruits, so I'll just pad my post count instead:

I've decided to "double down" on this because I not only posted about this six weeks ago, I posted about this on the old forums over a year ago, archived here. In addition, others encountered this on the old forum - here, here, and here.

I'm certain this post seems a bit petulent, but from our side, it looks like a lot of these are just passed over. This one isn't a minor clipping issue though, it's a dye channel issue - inexplicably caused by a different armor piece. It's an issue that has been here for 2½ years now, requiring multiple posts - and multiple forums to get the point across.

I hope you have had a merry Wintersday.

Item: Perfected Envoy Jerkin + any Infusion that changes the skin
    Race: Human
    Gender: Female
Class: Ranger (any Medium armor class)
If you use Perfected Envoy Jerkin on a Female Human together with a Infusion that changes the skin it also changes a part of the armor that it is not supposed to do.
It is the part at the abdomen that goes around the whole character up to the spine.
If you use a Winter's Heart Infusion it becomes an ugly grey and if you use a Celestial Infusion (Red) it changes the texture completely.
If you combine both, the skin Including the described part of the armor has the Winter's Heart texture, that apparently always goes above the one from the Celestial Infusion (Red).
You can see that the Celestial Infusion (Red) with its high opacity changes the texture of the armor part in the same way it does to the skin while the lower opacity Winter's Heart Infusion does not completely change it to the color of the skin and only in the combined picture it does since the base color is now the same.
(I only own these 2 so i could only post these Screenshots but I have seen other Screenshots from Phospholuminescent Infusion with the same Problem)

  • On September 27, 2017, I made a post here in regards to the legendary shield “The Flameseeker Prophecies” not animating correctly.
The weapon is supposed to animate and turn a page on the book that is mounted on the shield each time you attack.
It has been months now and this issue has still not been resolved!
I made a Reddit post recently that is getting some traction as people are experiencing the issue:

If you look back to my post dated for September 27, 2017, I posted two links to videos showing that the shield is not in fact animating as intended. It only animates once I draw the weapon, and no more after that.
It’s supposed to do so upon each attack.

    Please Guild Wars 2 staff!
If you could have someone look into this, it would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve been very patient, it’s been over 5 months now and still nothing has been said nor done about the problem.
I, as well as my fellow gamers, have put so much time and effort into Legendary crafting.
It’s unfortunate that the weapon is not working as intended. It used to animate so beautifully and now feels lackluster.
Please, any response would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you kindly.

Wasted a precious Total Makeover Kit trying to change my Female Norn Character. I chose one of the exclusive heads and tweaked about 10 other parameters.
In the image I have grabbed a view with my char and the makeover kit view. The makeover kit view shows the outcome I wanted (and hero panel views), and a "normal" neck. In game you can see an ugly seam where body tone and head tone meet. Why the body tone is the colour shown I do not know.

Just one question about this, are you this week in the "blue" WvW Team? Since i know the obsidian weapons are designed to change colour....the preview window always shows the colour of the red team, but the other 2 colours exist as well, so, when you are in the blue wvwv tem this week the weapon glows blue, when you are in the green team it glows green and when you are in the red team it should glow red....and it changes every week, depending wich team colour you get this week for your server....when that is not the case, THEN it is bugged....

    Funerary Torch.

Your character holds it too high, and it's placed too high on the hip as well. These funerary weapons have 3 golden rings on the stick part (circled in red), if you look closely at the scepter the hand is supposed to be between the first and second ring, but with the torch it's placed ON the second ring. This looks really weird, and makes the weapons seem shorter/longer than they really are.

Recurring issue for over 2 months: Human female characters experience extreme visual clipping in the chest area while executing the PvP finisher / "stomp" animation: . It is 100% reproducible regardless of armor and graphics settings, though it is more easily noticed with certain chest armor skins. I have had about a half-dozen friends confirm this issue with a variety of operating systems, graphics settings, and armors.

This clipping does NOT occur for certain other races, e.g. female Norn characters do not have this issue.

Hi folks - 3rd time I have made a post about this on the Bug forum, and I've submitted about 10 bug reports and 2 support tickets since this bug popped up in the December 12, 2017 patch. I am hoping that by providing nearly the exact date when the bug came about and by increasing Anet's awareness of the issue, it can get the attention and fix it needs. Thanks!

  • Norn
    Almost all shoulder gear

Issue in a nutshell is that Norn women's shoulder gear is oversized, placed too high on the body and misaligned to the actual shape of the model in question, the placement and size errors (serious eye sores) are consistent across all pieces. Their weapons and back items are also oversized by by regular amounts. I'm going to go out on a limb here that it's due to Norn women's gear appearance being filtered through a racial parameter set that is designed for the Norn males, who look absolutely nothing at all like the women... Hence the source of the eye sores. My own suggestion to fix this would be adding at least 3 new physiques for Norn women specifically that correct for whatever values drive the bloated shoulder gear syndrome, but keep the originals for those who like that. Pictures following are all old, but I refuse to spend the money on transmutation charges AGAIN to highlight a 5+ year old issue.

These are collections of pictures taken from either in game, or the updated hero window's perspective versus a makeover kit's rendering of the model which uses a corrected form. I'm asking for that makeover kit's model to be something I have access to in game. That would be over 50 characters worth of total makeover kits, but I find it worth it. Pictures to follow:
Note: these are not all the ones available, and the same issue is present in PoF armors and all outfits as well. - Heavy and medium armor examples - Light armor examples - Chronomancer shoulders - Demonstration of what I suspect to be some racially defined gear alterations - Again on a different set... notice the gravity defying tilt of the shoulder gear

All I've wanted for more than 5 years is for my gear to fit my character the way that is still shown in the makeover kit previews.

  • Norn
Hair model, broken since well before launch (beta weekend events)

This is a hair style (not model) that has been shared between human and norn women since launch, but it was fixed for humans, and never for norn. Here's to hoping it sees some love... There are other hair styles with the same rather blatant issue that should be fixed, but I don't care about them specifically tbh. - Comparison between human and norn - Sorry for the red circles of obvious in the following set, again old pictures but no need to retake because the issue remains the same. - It hangs through so blatantly that it looks REALLY BAD while swimming.

I initially opened Ticket #6819285 for this issue and they recommended I post here. I am happy to provide more information, but capturing this is kind of tricky.

I recently crafted Eureka and noticed some peculiarities with the footfalls compared to the other legendaries I own. It presents as:

    • Footfalls appearing sporatically while traveling in the same direction.
    • Footfalls appearing without issue while running in one direction but not another.
    • Footfalls not appearing at all.

After continuing to play with it over and over the issue is more common/worse on HoT and PoF maps and varies with my resolution settings.

    Preliminary Results:

    Mistlock Sanctuary
Windowed Fullscreen (1080p) - Inconsistent Footfalls
    Fullscreen (1080p) - Inconsistent Footfalls
    Fullscreen (1024 x 768) - Inconsistent Footfalls

    Windswept Haven
Windowed Fullscreen (1080p) - No Footfalls
    Fullscreen (1080p) -No Footfalls
    Fullscreen (1024 x 768) - Normal Footfalls

    Rata Sum
Windowed Fullscreen (1080p) - Inconsistent Footfalls
    Fullscreen (1080p) - Inconsistent Footfalls
    Fullscreen (1024 x 768) - Full Footfalls

    Changing the graphics settings:

    Animation - High
    Anti-Aliasing - None
    Environment - High
    LOD Distance - Medium
    Reflections - Terrain & Sky
    Textures - High
Render Sampling - Native (I make it this far and the footfalls become inconsistent)
    Shadows - Medium
    Shaders - Medium (Footfalls disappear)

    Rata Sum
    Animation - High
    Anti-Aliasing - None
    Environment - High
    LOD Distance - Medium
    Reflections - Terrain & Sky
    Textures - High
    Render Sampling - Native
    Shadows - Medium
Shaders - Medium (I make it this far and the footfalls become inconsistent)
    Post-processing - High
    Character Model Limit - Medium
Character Model Quality - Medium (Inconsistency has increased by this point especially while turning. Running in a straight line works in most directions.)

Unfortunately, my computer isn't the newest thing in the world so doing screen records is touch and go. I did make one video so far:

Lastly, this behavior is not an issue with my other legendary weapons on the same character in the same locations. I'm curious if the client prioritizes effects like footfalls and somehow Eurekas were set to a lower priority than other legendary weapons and are getting culled in the process.

Let me know if I can provide more info.

    Item: Medium Bounty Hunter's Shoulderpads
    Race: Norn, Charr, Sylvari, Human
Gender: male and female of the above races
    Class: all medium armor wearers

The medium Bounty Hunter's Shoulderpads cause every main hand and off hand weapon (sans shield - and it is much more noticeable with main hand weapons) to angle away from and sit further from the body. It doesn't look correct, and it is only the medium Bounty Hunter's Shoulderpads that cause this issue. Here is an example:

    sword without bounty hunter shoulderpads

    sword with bounty hunter shoulderpads

As mentioned above, this placement issue is present with every main-hand and-off hand weapon while wearing the medium Bounty Hunter's Shoulderpads . As the light Bounty Hunter chest armor previously had this same issue that was resolved, I figured this wasn't intended and was worth reporting.

Description: when the helm is equipped, the flames do not show in the eyes. i have pictures, but cant get them to go onto here

  • Character: Taimi
    Item: NPC
    Path Of Fire and on

The older Taimi model, while aware that the character is getting older and bigger, her model outside of Scruffy is merely getting resized, leaving her having a massive head, while her model inside of Scruffy is more natural.
Model outside of Scruffy needs to match the Scruffy model to not look too unnatural.

  • Can the butt shield please be removed from the heavy Spearmarshal's Tassets? :#
    Two examples below:

Amazingly detailed armor, but that heavy clip makes me never want to use. Honestly the Spearmashal's Tassests would be one of the top heavy legs in my opinion if it wasn't for that butt shield.
